People that grew up in the 90s do you remember your parents showing you this?

There were lots of movies about Woodstock and the 60s back then and lots of muisc of the 60s was popular then.

97 here
The 90s were lit

I remember the 60's show. That and The Wonder Years, man. The 60's were something magical, desu.

t. kid who grew up with my dad always playing the oldies station

>97
As if you had any memories of the 90s youngfag.

>97
If this is the year you were born please fucking kill yourself for suggesting you could possibly remember any part of the 90s.

Don't forget Forrest Gump.

Did your dad talk about Woodstock and the protests and all that?

Born in 75

I grew up with music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s when I was a kid.

Wonder Years was better. Yeah, it was a bit sappy, but Winnie Cooper and puberty go together like peanut butter and jelly.

A little. Not much protests in our area. He told me about his first time drinking, smoking weed, and puking going to a Jefferson Airplane concert, and then later ditching senior year of high school to hitchike to a still white California for 6 years. My mom has some good stories from back then too. America was a lot better back then.

That was all a lie though. The boomers were the most degenerate generation. Think about it in terms of millienals with all the American resources at their disposal squandered away while opening the gates to the barbarians for cheap labor. A hippie was basically a tranny fag of their time and they glorified it as some great thing to our generation while telling us at the same time that the 50s man was some sort of degenerate for keeping his family in line, working hard, and having to many drinks instead of doing copious amounts of random drugs and having orgies while enabling female and Jewish degeneracy.

The whole thing was a fucking 60s was a black eye to American history.

60s politically was the worst decade in the past century for sure. Individually it was pretty bad as well because it set the root for cancer boomers. That said their music was fucking lit. 60s music was awesome. I would guess because of the optimism of the people back then and their heavy use of psychedelics, but don't exactly know why.

Oh, he also mentioned that my Grandpa got pissed about the kike Bob Zimmerman singing "Like a Rolling Stone" on the radio. He saw the Eagles in the early 70's at a bar in Cali before their first album came out. My life is boring as shit by comparison.

'92er here btw so I sort of grew up a bit in the 90s I guess. I remember the turn of the millenium; we were out camping with her hippy friends and my mom gave me a sip of wine.

My mom used to tell me about the vietnam draft dodgers that moved into the apartment next to her, and how they were hardcore communists.

woodstock was not some seminal moment in 60's. most people supported the Vietnam war, hippies were a west coast joke that everybody laughed at, more people listened to Engelbert Humperdinck records than Hendrix.

you were sold an idealized version of America that never existed. and you bought it.

it was easier this way.

not really. music was mostly Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa.

only thing 60s really was my dad being a super fan of Star Trek

Were you alive in the 60s?

Yeah every 5-10 years there is a different type of theme (((they))) try to push. In the 90s it was hippie culture and alternative (new) rock/grunge, in the 2000s the internet age they pushed porn and extreme fetishising like sex with cows and animals, early 2010s it was the retarded music automizers and soyboy voices screaming one syllable for 10 seconds "music". And now its this alt-right thingy.

i want to live in a time where this song is popular.

youtube.com/watch?v=pAPEfdjvTqE

The oldest ones were 20, and younger ones not even 10 when the Hart-Cellar Act was passed. Vietnam was a bullshit war that was rightfully protested. Hippie ideology wasn't the problem. Yippies (i.e. the subversive Jews), sure. The only problem was importing non-whites. My greatest generation grandfather brought in plenty of spics for farming. I doubt he would have forseen our current conditions. But, don't blame the boomers.

90s kids typically have 70s-influenced parents.

So you weren't exposed to things like this?

I hate that so much of 60s pop sounds the same but that's the way it goes. Pop music sounds similar because it's pop(ular).

The music of the 60's whilst having some negro influences, had a lot of implicit white spirit.

The 60's nostalgia started in the late 80's. We used to have these commercials on all the time:

youtube.com/watch?v=P3CnvphQs04

We watched house in the prairie

Gen X user here.

We openly hated this stuff because most of us hated the boomers and blamed them for ruining the country.

They were also shit parents who constantly got divorced, did drugs in front of the kids, and got involved in all sorts of wacky bullshit religions.

Then the 80’s hit hard and mosy of the hippies traded in their commie bullshit for greed, Reaganism and cocaine.

There has never been a generation worse than the boomers. Even millenials are much better people

What do you think of people who say they were cool in the 60s and 70s then became bad in the 80s?

Hypocrites

Gen X'er here. I was born in 1970.

I want to burn woodstock to the ground. Just to spite my hippie liberal parents. They met there and named me after the concert. I got bullied mercilessly growing up, especially by the niggers.

My parents politics put me in proximity to militant niggers of the fuck whitey kind. I remember when roots came out I was like 6 or 7 and got beaten up by the niggers that my parents cared so greatly about.

I starting writing my name as Woody in middle school. But the stupid old teacher used my full name and it began again.

When Reagan won in 1980 and the landslide in 1984 they were so pissed, but I was so happy. I think that's what made me a conservative.

When trump won I had a rush of euphoria and nostalgia just like the night Reagan won. It felt like history repeated itself.

My kids are Z-llenials. I hope they dont turn out like my parents.

My parents liked Bon Jovi and cowboys. They also liked riverdancing.
My father often took trips to texas.

no, my parents weren't dirty ass hippies

You're actually named Woodstock?

Holy Kek, sorry but your story gave me a chuckle.

On the more practical side I hope you didn't send your kids to public school because if you did they're guaranteed infected with some level of the same liberal cancer your parents partook of, even if they're silent about it to you.

Yeah I am.

I hate Woodstock because of what it stands for.

My kids are early teens and I pray to god they turn out well.

No, because my parents were and are good people who fucking hated the hippie movement. Lived in New York, too.

Dude your name is cool. Fuck those cunts that bullied you. I have served in the military and take every opportunity to haze and belittle cunts for having silly names, but would not regard yours as odd.

My parents were all about the 70s and early 80s. Dazed and Confused seems to have hit the nail on the head.

NO, my parents grew up in communism, they showed me pictures from their trip to Lenjingrad and Moscow.

I'll take this time, when niggers were respectful and well mannered.

youtube.com/watch?v=2MkfTYPmLlA

77 here. I agree.

My earliest memories are these hippy girls named Tear and Star in the complex we lived in. I was taking a bath and Star had to pee and I saw her twat. Even at age 2/3 I knew how straight I was. I really remember fucking HATING Pink Floyd and anybody in bell bottoms because they smelled like weed and tried to be funny or something but I deep down knew they were useless fuckheads. For some reason, I really liked bikers though. I had to suffer through the hippie remnant teachers and their stupid bullshit but I liked Reagan a lot. He was like this hard ass old grandpa I wish would have raised me instead of the drug fueled coke smuggling dad and hippie-ish mom who I can't remember ever doing anything of note. My dad, his life was a crazy adventure like "american made" tier. We flew to weird places, "crash landed" a lot and spent the night in these massive houses in god knows where. Meh fuck it at least I'm not a fucking useless robot sheep millennial. I got to choose myself and I chose to be a Father, Husband and Asshole.

>useless robot sheep millennial
Millenial here.
This is a fair categorization.

What is going to happen to the minority of ones who aren't? Are they going to be the rulers of the generation or are they going to be swamped and defeated?

>The 60's were something magical,

you know nothing about the 60's but propaganda. The decade suffered from extreme historic revisionism.

youtube.com/watch?v=WnPahoXwWJ8

>I would guess because of the optimism of the people back then and their heavy use of psychedelics

Nah, it was because blues roots music was a new thing for white people and so a lot of music was experimental and drew from styles that aren't very well known today.

They will slip into a dull, apathetic state of who gives a shit, like most of us Xers. Do any of us even vote? I think most of us don't care BUT we were taught since birth that Russia is our friend so...there's that I guess.

Xers: hate cops, don't respect authority, age, status, cliques. Don't agree with whatever we were taught in school. Learned that apathy was the best path see : slackers, floundering, any movie of that era. We like: comfy jeans that aren't too tight, 80's shit, sneakers and deck shoes, video games, meat. We had 4 food groups and WE WERE FUCKING THANKFUL.

Wrong

What about voting for Trump?

Might as well say that niggers were respectful and well mannered in 2016 because of kang Obongo could put on a good speech. But it's not so. No matter what you can find one shucking and jiving nog but still it's best to keep them away. The 5% of them are ultimately too violent and erratic to keep any of them nearby at all.

Old guy here

I was in San Francisco in 1968

Those TV shows are crap......it was a dark and dangerous time, no microwaves, no video recorders, lots of cool people and where ever you went was something new.
There was no way to share regional quirks as there was no way to see what was happening everywhere except what the news told you
Women just went on the pill and sex was free before the aids shit. It was a pretty cool time

The only people creating this idea of a bunch of dirty hippies opposing a war and being stronk independenyt womeyn and shit are hollywood jews.

They are so incredibly effective at creating such perceptions they reach millions of Americans.

>you were sold an idealized version of America that never existed

yep. it was full war on the American family and values during the sixties and a completely fake illusion is told about the decade.

There were maybe 10,000 hippies in the entire country, but it's just like now- the far left freaks get all the media attention because that's how they want people to be- lazy, delusional, and degenerate.

But then the sixties gave way to the seventies and they couldn't hide the escalating violence anymore and the bullshit hippie pop culture wasn't selling anymore. The counter culture they were trying to build flopped so the kikes changed gears and started to encourage racism from niggers and penalize whites for the same attitudes.

Kek. True story.

76 here. Basically this.

>Do you remember being exposed to lots of media and references to the 60s from your parents growing up?
1985 here. No, not really. But I did go through a phase in 6th and 7th grade where I wanted to be a hippy. I didn't want to use drugs though but I really liked the fashion and the music. Started smoking weed in 12th grade and actually just put down the pipe 13 days ago.

I rediscovered this old movie...Godspell. It's a musical about Jesus, and it's filled with happy hippy stuff. Even the first scene has the apostles being called and being baptized in the Central Park fountain and turning into hippies. Jesus Himself is Superclown after His baptism. But it's the music that sells the whole parcel of silliness. Here are a couple of songs from it...

youtu.be/XXVuBaXvcd4

youtu.be/OqEHaQ1RbME

youtu.be/39tXfUm80Bc

And Goddamn,it makes me want to dress in wacky clothes and frolic with da freaks. To follow the Greatful Dead,to find love in the arms of a flowerchild with an empty head and soulful eyes and hairy legs.

Happy illusions.

Sounds like an entire generation of beta males/school shooters.

Boomers at least had the balls to just do whatever the fuck they wanted to and not give a fuck. Being apathetic and floundering is just pathetic.

>So you weren't exposed to things like this?
of course they were. It was on tv and there were only 4 channels.

Nastolgia tends to play on 30 year gaps

Obviously there is always period pieces and stuff but you’ll see that there is style and culture revival on 30 year intervals.

60’s revival was big in the 1990’s. The styles the movies even forest gump and Austin powers were homages

Today there is a big time 80’s revival that has been going on for a while

The preppy frat look, synthy music, corny sci fi, high waisted shorts on girls.

Look out for a 90’s (and thus 60’s and 30’s) revival in the 20’s coming up. It shout be apparent around 23-24

>tfw 98

You sure you’re not confusing (((their))) agenda for the natural see saw of pop / youth culture rebellion?

no

nah i'm productive as fuck. Have a giant family I take care of. I'm just apathetic towards government and authority. Fuck them, they didn't do me any favors I can recall. Just fuckin my shit up, making me spend 1 hour a week just to deprogram my kids and teach them to question bullshit they are being fed. Gen Z is pretty hard right so I think they'll be just fine. They think all their teachers are literal faggots, we just called ours that. It's strange.

Wtf? You're either full of shit of larping. That was the height of the Cold War. No one was being taught that "Russia" was our friend. The exact opposite is true.

>We openly hated this stuff because most of us hated the boomers and blamed them for ruining the country.

larp. Why are there people here pretending to be older than they are? I don't get it.

Gen X didn't give a fuck about politics. Gen X was lazy, entitled, and stupid. That's why millennials are so fucked up. It wasn't the boomers that caused the problems, it was gen x. The myth of the freaky hippie boomers is pretty much just a myth. The boomers were conservatives.

The degredation of the population began with woodrow wilson and each generation has been a little worse than the last. The internet has sped up the degradation of america, so now each generation is a lot worse than the last.

If someone had communist leaning parents they'd teach their kids Russia was our friend back in the 80s.

Did you know roughly 50 percent of ALL students have some sort of "diagnoses" so they have to see a special school counselor who bills the state like 150 bucks each time they see that kid, even its for 10 minutes?
WHERE THE FUCK DOES THAT MONEY GO. FUCKING BULLSHIT MAN. They tried to label my oldest with some "on the spectrum" shit and I told them to stfu with that bullshit. I LIVE with this kid. I KNOW him. You don't know shit leave my kid alone and stop sending home fucking jewish candelabra coloring books and shit. The population where I live is 100k. Theres TWO jews. Everyone knows them....get that shit outta here hahaha. They hate when you call them out. The tiny bearded tight pants femboys preaching equality and empathy. Fuck off. I can tear you limb from limb then go fuck your wife and make her cum you little dickhead. Sorry, once you have to interact daily with these weird feminized podpeople, it'll start to ferment your filberts n shiet.

Yeah the fashion came back to a certain extent, there we bands like Blind Melon that pretty much just played hippie music, they even tried to bring back woodstock. The Beatles released their anthology, Austin Powers was a huge hit.

YES. Exactly. ALL I HEARD in school was "the poor russian people blah blah blah" we'd watch movies like Russkies (check it out) and documentaries. We had a sister school somewhere in russia we pen pal'd and shit. This is like 84 to 87 time. Anyone in elementary school then was pounded with "russia is just like us, just misled. Bad leader" Then gorbachev came and we were taught he wasn't so bad and maybe shit will be better for the poor poor russians who pay 100 russiabux for levi's and marlboros or whatever.

Sorry kid....there wasn't "10k hippies".....there were millions of them
The old ways were being forcibly removed....look at the old timer guys back then that grew out their hair
It was a true revolution from "Leave it to Beaver" to "The Monkees"

They weren't fag lefties like now....they were hardcore anti government anti war protestors
You were either "for the man" or "for the people"

listen to the song:
youtube.com/watch?v=A-7uwshsfFI

Were the 60s and the hippie movement the worst thing to happen to the United States? Everything up to the 50s seemed to made sense and everybody still dressed right and behaved correctly, but after the hippies it seemed to move from one fad to another every 5 years together with all kinds of degeneracy and never looked back to how it had been for 200 years.

What do you think of people who use their diagnosis as a political identity?

It's an alien thing to behold. When I was in school maybe 1-2 kids in the whole school had this mysterious thing called "ADD" and you could spot them a mile away. Annoying as fuck, didn't listen, acted like fuckheads in class but were usually pretty ok outside of school and recess and shit. I think if you have a "diagnoses" you should be disqualified from any opinions because obviously, you're "mentally impaired" right? Who would let a mentally impaired person buy a weapon or drive a motor vehicle or do this or that unless they proved, by a specialist that their shit was under control to a reasonable degree. To start a whole movement around some deficiency or disfunction is ....just retarded.

But....I was also one of those fucked up GATE kids so....maybe I'm fucking impaired too. It's complicated man. This is like some weird bizarro world.

the hippies were needed....the govt was gaining too much power, there was a forced draft into a war no one wanted and the wealthy controlled everything

There were a lot of kids and teens and they were sick of the rules and how the powerful were using them as pawns...the war in VN was stopped because there was literally going to be a violent revolution after Kent State

you all owe a lot to the hippes

learning to live in a democracy is a real skill. gen x really did have it right.

same but I really really liked the early 00’s

not really. my dad was a major in the military and hated hippies. my mom primarily just enjoyed motherhood, didn't go through a hippie phase in her youth, though she did like "classic rock." both my parents are/were conservatives, and have a respectable level of racism and awareness of Jews.

>hippies were a west coast joke that everybody laughed at
you even see that still in movies that came out in the 90s like Demolition Man and PCU. those kind of lefties really only grew to cultural dominance in the 2000s

My question is so what if they did?

Why are you asking this?

Dude. PCU was prophetic. Those haven't seen have no idea.

Nope nothing, although I'd see the odd hippie and they were always really disgusting. They made bums look good.

BTW.. the 70s were a really rapey time with people in vans trying to pick up kids. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I was born in 1980 and all through my teenage years there was shitty 60's nostalgia being rammed down our throat.
"You kids with your Pearl Jam will never know what real music was, now the Rolling Stones, there was a band"
Imagine 10 years of that bullshit.

I graduated high school in 1990 and college in 1995
There was a major revival of 60's music that coincided with grunge and at least in my circle of friends the same people were listening to and buying this stuff
A long lawsuit over Jimi Hendrix's legacy was finally settled while I was in college and a lot of unreleased music was finally available, there were remasters of the 3 Experience albums and Band of gypsies and Woodstock all came out so there was a major Hendrix revival and for a while his estate was releasing more new stuff than most active bands
The Beatles also had a major revival, they had a top 10 album in 1994 and 3 Number 1 Albums in 1995 and 1996.
When I was in college me and my circle of friends would hang out every night, smoke weed and listen to new releases by Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Nirvana and older stuff by Hendrix and the Beatles.
That was a great time to be young and in school.
