What's Sup Forums opinions on Carl Gustav Jung? Is he regarded as a pseudo-scientist because he is not aligned with the Jewish interpretation of psychoanalysis? I want you to read the following story regarding (((Shlomo Freud))) and Jung relation:
>In 1909 Jung and Freud were both invited to lecture at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. They were away for seven weeks and they spent long periods every day talking and working on each other’s dreams. Of all the dreams they analysed, two were to be critical for their friendship. The first was one of Freud’s, which Jung did his best to interpret on the basis of only a few associations from Freud. When Jung pressed him for more, Freud looked rather suspiciously at him and declined: “I cannot risk my authority,” he said. At that moment, commented Jung, he lost it altogether. “That sentence burned itself into my memory, and in it the end of our relationship was already foreshadowed. Freud was placing personal authority above truth.”
>The other dream was one of Jung’s. He dreamt that he was on the top floor of an old house, well furnished and with fine paintings on the walls. He marvelled that this should be his house and commented “Not bad!” But then it occurred to him that he had no idea what the lower floor was like, so he went down to see. There everything was much older. The furnishings were medieval and everything was rather dark. He thought, “Now I really must explore the whole house.” He looked closely at the floor. It was made of stone slabs, and in one of these he discovered a ring. When he pulled it, the slab lifted, and he saw some narrow stone steps leading down into the depths. He went down and entered a low cave cut out of the rock. Bones and broken pottery were scattered about in the dust, the remains of a primitive culture, and he found two human skulls, obviously very old and half-disintegrated. Then he awoke. [1/2]
>All that interested Freud about this dream was the possible identity of the skulls. He wanted Jung to say who they belonged to, for it seemed evident to him that Jung must harbor a death-wish against their owners. Jung felt this was completely beside the point, but, as was habitual with him at that stage of the relationship, he kept his doubts to himself. To Jung, the house was an image of the psyche. The room on the upper floor represented his conscious personality. The ground floor stood for the first level of the unconscious, which he was to call the personal unconscious, while in the deepest level of all he reached the collective unconscious. […] To him, the skulls had nothing to do with death-wishes. They belonged to our human ancestors, who helped shape the common psychic heritage of us all. [2/2]
Jung split with Freud after a few years of collaboration and friendship, the latter’s insistence on reducing human behavior to vestigial childhood sexuality and its lingering infantile traumata, and his dismissive resistance to Jung’s more expansive and positively oriented ideas of the collective unconscious and of personal growth through individuation of archetypal potentials having become too much for the younger man to tolerate. A single anecdote tells much about the opposed personalities of the two men, as well as their irreconcilable racial temperaments.

Jung is generally regarded as pseudo-science because Freud whored psychoanalysis in the US out to the medical model. Jung, being someone who's major break from Freud's thinking was decentering sexuality and bringing attention to the importance of myth, didn't fit that narrative. He wasn't especially conservative and his views on religion were not a good fit for post-war American culture.

>the only non-Jewish psychoanalyst worth reading faves, Red Book, Synchronicity, Psychology and Alchemy he was surrounded by /cianiggers/ and Jews because he was about to shoot right out of the Matrix
Nicholas Foster
Jung was one of the greatest thinkers that ever lived. His ideas of the archetype are far superior to (((sociology))).

None of those are great starting points for Jungian thought, though. Volume 5 and 7 of the collected works are probably the best introduction.
Caleb Barnes
He definitely surrounded himself with Jews.
Sebastian Reed
he was better than Freud. Freud was a brainlet pervert.
Jose Flores
Are any of his books readable by an average IQ person? I've always been interested in reading him, but I find it daunting.
Michael Campbell
The essentials of Freudian psychology is basically contained within the Jungian concept of "Shadow".
Dominic Peterson
I enjoyed the "Portable Jung" by Penguin Publishing. It's around 700 pages of material culled from his complete works, edited by Joseph Campbell. I felt like it was a good introduction for me. One of the best books I ever read, frankly.
Christopher Peterson
Jung looked into the abyss. He knew the secrets of the alchemists and understood human psychology in a way unriveled today. He is portrayed as a pseudo-scientist by the (((pharmacies))) because his view that mental illness can be cured by the mind does not sit well with the (((capitalists))).
Justin Ortiz
Its not a bad collection, and its the Hull translation so thats spot on, but I've found that with Jung its generally best to stick with the Princeton/Bolligen editions. They're organized for depth of understanding.
Samuel Nelson
Jung was retarded. He interpreted the commonality of things such as every civilization calling Sirius the "dog star" and other phenomena as a frank herbert-esque "unconscious memory" or "genetic memory" or something, when in reality those commonalities are due to the world-spanning advanced civilization that built the pyramids and other monuments later occupied by lesser civilization such as the egyptians, mayans, what not, who of course carried down the traditions including the manner in which they interpreted constellations, their movement, shapes, etc. and yet somehow people take his idea of the "archetypes" at face value in academia even today which goes to show you how fucking retarded people are even when they're trying to better themselves through """education"""
Aaron Young
What did he mean by this:
“When, for instance, the belief in the God Wotan vanished and nobody thought of him anymore, the phenomenon originally called Wotan remained; nothing changed but its name, as National Socialism has demonstrated on a grand scale. A collective movement consists of millions of individuals, each of whom shows the symptoms of Wotanism and proves thereby that Wotan in reality never died, but has retained his original vitality and autonomy. Our consciousness only imagines that it has lost its Gods; in reality they are still there and it only needs a certain general condition in order to bring them back in full force.”

"There is no question but that Hitler belongs in the category of the truly mystic medicine man. As somebody commented about him at the last Nürnberg party congress, since the time of Mohammed nothing like it has been seen in this world. His body does not suggest strength. The outstanding characteristic of his physiognomy is its dreamy look. I was especially struck by that when I saw pictures taken of him in the Czechoslovakian crisis; there was in his eyes the look of a seer. This markedly mystic characteristic of Hitler’s is what makes him do things which seem to us illogical, inexplicable, and unreasonable. … So you see, Hitler is a medicine man, a spiritual vessel, a demi-deity or, even better, a myth.”

For sure, leaf. Try "Man and His Symbols".
Jacob Thompson
Psychoanalysis is not my field of knowledge. So I don't know If there's other Jewish scholar, aside from Freud, who might be interesting to read about. I tried to leave an open title because I am ultimately an ignorant on the matter (that's why I made this thread in the first place).
Christian Reed
You don't know much about Jung, do you? His family's roots go back centuries in Switzerland and both his father and his maternal grandfather were clergy in the Swiss Reform Church.
Alexander Jones
Love that quote.
Ryan Moore
>globe-spanning ancient civilization disproves collective unconscious Those two theories are in no way contradictory with each other, not sure why you think they are
Oliver Kelly
The first is saying that Wotan is a symbol. When the paganism religion was "defeated" by Christianity all the Christians did was destroy a few symbols. The basic instincts and feelings remained and were past down through generations.
The second is saying that Hitler was sort of a focal point for the gathering of the collective unconscious. He was "chosen" and this is why he had such amazing power of people, it is a power borrowed from the collective unconscious. Hence he is a spirtual vessel or demi-god. To say he is a 'myth' is to say that the historical Hitler didn't matter. What matters was what he stood for, sort of like King Author.
Jung is awesome, he was a genius who saw through Freud's kikery.

Where do you recommend someone start with jung?

>He interpreted the commonality of things such as every civilization calling Sirius the "dog star" and other phenomena as a frank herbert-esque "unconscious memory" or "genetic memory" or something, when in reality those commonalities are due to the world-spanning advanced civilization Yep the pyramids were build by the descendants of the Atlanteans. Stupid Jung!
Daniel Richardson
Jung and freud created their psychoanaljizz as a way to rationalize weird fetishes. Freud fucked minna bernays (his sister in law) and jung fucked sabina spielrein and later toni wollf. Even though he was married. Jungs logic is something like this: "I may be immoral on earth but my spirit is pure nonetheless." You can thank jung for a lot of stupid new age crap, return of the "feminine principle" and mother goddess crap.

All psychology is bullshit All psychiatry which does not act directly on well understood neurological mechanisms is bullshit

Jordan Richardson
It's hard to classify him as a scientist, he really wasn't.
But the dude had a live wire direct into the human psyche and is worth reading.
