Why do people like Speedwagon so much...

Why do people like Speedwagon so much? He's fucking useless and does nothing of consequence besides redundant commentary.

He's the American dream made manifest

>loyal as fuck
>goes from rags to riches
>company he makes helps the jojos for centuries
>true foil to Dio

Only underage retards that sprout memes every 2 seconds like that character.

...

>extremely loyal friend
>good fatherly figure to joseph
>him basically doing nothing but being there just to yell things after his introduction is stupid but hilarious
>may as well be the narrator of part 1
speedwagon is too good for this world

REO Speedwagon is good music.

moe

>true foil to Dio
Huh?

Because Dio is competent.

He inspires one of Joseph's best moments.

/thread

>Dio Brando
>basically a lesson on that you shouldn't trust poor people

>Speedwagon
>a counter to that lesson

More along the lines of

> Dio - A poor person who could not be redeemed through violence
> Speedwagon - A poor person who could be redeemed through violence

Though in both cases they were the ones who struck first

and even then it wasn't much violence in the SW case so much as "tanking his attacks until he developed a man-crush"

Who wouldn't develop a man-crush on Jonathan?

Shit, even Dio did to some extent.

He just wanted John for his body.

Pretty sure Araki said at one point that they did have some weird """"''brotherly""""" love shit going on.

Dio wasn't redeemed by years of trust and forgiveness, either, he just knocked the petty bullying off once he knew it could get his ass kicked.

> Years of trust and forgiveness

Ehh, I think it was clear to both of them that neither one was really okay with the other, even perfect gentleman Jonathan had pretty severe doubts about Dio even before the poisoning thing came to light. They were basically just playing pretend that whole time.

He withdraws coolly

He's a complete bro. Even after Jonathan is long dead he still wouldn't ever dream of ever hitting on his wife.

RIP Speedbro my nigga

Believe in Araki
Don't let him go ;_;

shitposting aside, most of the musical references aren't that random, you can usually find a few lyrics that fit here and there.
Killer Queen being the most obvious one.

"Gunpowder, gelatine, Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime!"

"To avoid complications. She never kept the same address"

talk about on the nose

>handsome billionaire
>died single
Ok

Sure, there are some that are basically exactly on the mark for their song reference, but I'm pretty sure Araki said that a few of them he just picked since he thought it sounded cool.

His heart always belonged to Jonathan.

Even so, after he found out how uncannily accurate the song was to Pucci's motivations, he changed the official name of Stariway To Heaven to Made ("Maid" to get around copyright) In Heaven.

Speedwagon is too pure

Part of what makes him likable is the fact that he's useless.
He's way out of his league but doesn't run away like certain part 5 team mates.
People like loyal underdogs

I imagine he was like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne, probably got lots of tail but never settled down.

That's exactly why people like him so much.
