I honestly want a Lum and To Love Ru crossover.

UY is unfunny and unfappable.

One had an alpha MC.
The other had a pussy MC.

>it's older so it's better

Whoa, great argument.

Nobody made that argument though. It's better for a whole range of other reasons.

Lost the charm.

...

>no anime will ever have this charm again
fuck im tying the noose now.

Top on looks like a generic waifubait though

I'm glad we can agree.

>TLR
>now

To Love Ru finished in 2009
That was long ago, in fact I feel bad now that I think about it

top was written by a woman
bottom was written by a guy

makes you think

One was a comedy, the other was a harem.
UY is the best.

They butchered Yabuki and Hasemi's story is what happened

>forced animation

Except Urusei Yatsura is far better than the TLR manga too.

...

Hello idiot.

Two romantic comedies, just that one focuses more on the comedy aspect while the other focuses more on the romance (before it drops both aspects and focuses on naked skin)

>while the other focuses more on the romance
Shitty romance and utterly asinine humor.

It was popular in buyfag threads, it did a good job at making the readers form a connection with the characters.

>it did a good job at making the readers form a connection with the characters
No it didn't, retard.

(uoY)

If you seriously believe people "connected" with the characters in To Love-Ru, you're an actual idiot.

Top makes otaku jealous and butthurt because they can't waifu the girl since she's pretty much officially engaged.
Meanwhile the bottom one makes them think "the dude is a fucking faggot who doesn't want the girl so I may have a chance"

>Top makes otaku jealous and butthurt because they can't waifu the girl since she's pretty much officially engaged.
>Who is Megane

...

>What went wrong?
Shonen jump happened, if you meant the manga.
While UY is far better than TLR in animated form, I've seen few people discussing about the manga. I know, TLR:D and even the ending of the original are pretty bad, but for about a 100 chapter TLR manager to be actually enjoyable, a thing that you can't say about UY.

Lum is a very well done anime but I hate every single character in it.

>a thing that you can't say about UY
But I can? The Urusei Yatsura manga is considered a classic.

>From Homewrecking: The Anime to Generic Harem: The Anime
What went worse?

>It's better for a whole range of other reasons.
And a whole lack of arguments

>a thing that you can't say about UY.
What? I read all of the UY manga in two weeks.

>Homewrecking: The Anime
You do know that Shinobu dumped Ataru in the first chapter of the manga, and only came back because of the fact that he had an alien in his house, right? And that she gave up on him for Mendou the second he was introduced, right?

>is considered a classic.
A classic Is not always a good classic.

I'm not arguing with you if you haven't seen both shows. Continue being retarded at your leisure.

No, but chances are a large fanbase with several people heralding it as a classic is a better indicator of quality than one retard on Sup Forums saying it's not enjoyable.

Nothing, since LoveRuDarkness completely crushes both shows.

Tlru is fucking trash garbage

Chances also are that something being old automatically gets a bunch of cocksucking mongoloids hail it as the greatest thing ever simply because its old and only few members of the current anime audience have seen it. As can be observed with most of Gundam or LotGH. Not even gonna start one these people who pretend of Gunbuster, Bubblegum Crisis, Touch etc. are actually well written shows.

>cocksucking mongoloids
Like you?

Again, heralded by many as a classic in Japan, and influenced countless well-respected authors. It's their word against yours, the retard on Sup Forums who likes to chuck "well-written" and "not well-written" labels on things, without actually understanding what constitutes a work being well-written. Notice how you're yet to actually explain how it's poorly written, or how TLR was "actually enjoyable" by comparison; it only further proves my point here.

>as a classic in Japan
You can repeat this as often as you want it wont make it any more relevant.

>influenced countless well-respected authors
Congrats. The first stone wheel also had more influence than any other wheel that came after it. Doesnt mean that its a better product than the newest Bridgestone tire so I'd appreciate it if you'd at least try to use your brain prior to submitting your deranged comments.

>What? I read all of the UY manga in two weeks
I'm not arguing that UY can't be enjoyable for a lot of people, a classic is a classic, but that doesn't mean it's good.
>No, but chances are a large fanbase with several people heralding it as a classic is a better indicator of quality than one retard on Sup Forums saying it's not enjoyable
Actually it doesn't.
To prove that, let's just assume what you said it's true, than let's talk about another classic manga: Dragon Ball.
Can you really say it's extrimely large fanbase indicate the good quality of the series? The long time and more mature fans of the manga recognize that the second part, pratically Dragon Ball Z, is extrimely weak, despite being the most famous part of the manga.
Even the newbies quite often agree on that, and let's not talk about how trash Super is.
So no, incredibly rarely a large fanbase means that something is good.
Also, while UY and DB are classic that still get a lot of recognition, don't misuse the term, since LWaC is considered one of real classic of the medium, despite not being really that famous.

>but that doesn't mean it's good.
And what does mean it's good?
Also, I didn't read it when I was a little kid. I was an adult, and it was only a few years ago, so it's not nostalgia.

>Actually it doesn't.
>one shitter on Sup Forums more reliable than several respected authors
Stopped reading there, you're an idiot.

>You can repeat this as often as you want it wont make it any more relevant.
Same applies to you. You still haven't explained why TLR is more enjoyable than the UY manga.

Probably because you're retarded.

One was written by one of the greatest mangaka of all time
The other was written by a talentless hack

Personally for me given how shitty most respected authors are I would rather accept the opinion of them underage on Sup Forums here. At least they keep it to a cesspit.

>What went wrong?
The industry.

Wtf this is better than kofuku graffiti!

>has the chance to mate with Lum since the very begining
>rather tries to mate with this random encounter

bad writing desu

Original tenchi muyo grills were ugglio

What he doesn't want is to get tied down with a single girl.

He'd get shocked in the dick.

I know this is a UY thread, but yeah, I connected with the characters in TLR.
I could write an entire thesis about how the manga uses physical comedy and farcical sexual fantasy to talk about the nature of human relationships.

>I know this is a UY thread
I thought this was an "anime/manga is shit now" thread.

>Stopped reading there, you're an idiot
You're free of thinking and beliving what you want, user.
Still, I can't belive you like to eat shit just because the others do.
What makes a good manga is hard to say, since the medium, even considering comics, is really young.
Still, good pacing and writing, being abile to manage the focus of the story, good art and paneling are usually what makes a good manga.
And UY have weak paneling and art in my opinion, and quite sometime it loses focus and start to digress a bit, unlike the first part of TLR.
With that I didn't mean that Yabuki work is better than Takahashi, I just wanted to to say that TLR isn't as trash as a lot of people say it is and that UY has some substantial flow and isn't the masterpiece unlike a lot of people belive.

Anime has lost its charm long time ago.
I dont even know why i bother anymore

How can one man be so wrong

>Still, good pacing and writing, being abile to manage the focus of the story,
Now, remember, UY is an episodic comedy, and has never pretended to be anything else. And it does that well. It has great pacing and writing. I thought it was funny, and it never had any long portions that dragged on.
>good art and paneling
The art was great. I had no complaints regarding the paneling.
Have you even read UY? If so, did you come in looking for a comedy, or a RomCom?
Now, the UY anime is better than the manga, but that's only saying that gold is better than silver. They were both great.

lmao dafuck

>Still, I can't belive you like to eat shit just because the others do.
You literally said 1(one) retard on Sup Forums is a more reliable source than SEVERAL people, including well-respected manga authors.

How credible the word of said authors is up for debate, but it doesn't change the fact that you're a hilariously stupid idiot.

UY has very good comedic writing. The characters are also all very endearing because they all want something they can't possibly get. That's why people get so attached to UY.

>i-it hard to say what make good m-manga
>o-ok this what make good manga because i say so!
ESL dumbfucks like yourself don't dictate what's good and what isn't. Know your place here.

>anime/manga is shit now
Manga is still fine but to me at least anime has lost its charm what it used to have

Sure it did buddy

...

has it tho?

This looks like it came straight out of Digimon.

Well like i said to me it lost its charm

I did like ore monogatari but it still doesnt have same feeling as alot pre-2000 shows

that feeling is nostalgia, not charm.

...

user, we're not all oldfags who watched these as teenagers when they came out.

a.pomf.cat/fuoczz.webm

a.pomf.cat/vskdng.webm

a.pomf.cat/ymowty.webm

a.pomf.cat/zqxyuv.webm

a.pomf.cat/chwxev.webm

Sure there is nostalgia too but i think pre-2000 anime had different feeling that modern anime lacks of

You don't know what nostalgia means, retard.

It's very common for child to say things along the lines of "My generation is shit older generation is better" when in reality they're just being dumb faggots

Um... is this supposed to be a joke about how the 2 shows looks like the same exact shit?

They're exactly the same in concept, except one is good and one is bad.

Modern anime does pre-2000s comedy so much better.

Well, I prefer less episodic series to be honest, which was one of the few things TLR did well at the beginning.
But yeah I agree on most of what you said, UY has great pacing and writing, but I have to disagree on the art and paneling. Takahashi suffer a bit from that annoying trend of using a ton of dynamic of motion lines, and just stuffing too much in a panel. Also, yes UY anime is a great adaptation.
Still doesn't change the fact that you like to eat shit.
One retard can be more reliable of several people, it's rare, but not that much.
Even if a lot of people love something and have a strong opinion on it, quite sometimes they're just blinded by ignorance or social customs.
Hell, a common Sup Forumsnon is proud that this taste are different from the masses.
You could argue that is just because we're edgy contrarian, and that us denying the word of a critic is stupid, but you're wrong.
The popularity of something is the worst indicator of it's own quality, especially art.
There is a lot of good stuff that is forgotten every year despite being incredibly good and ground-braking, and there's a lot of trash that is elevated to classic just because it's loved by the masses. Just look at Hollywood, they haven't been able to produce anything worthwhile in 20 or more years.
Yet this doesn't stop the critics from praising them, simply because they need money, and money comes from pleasing the masses and not the few people that cares.
So yeah, I agree I can be a stupid idiot, but the discussion about the quality of something is indipendent from who and how many said something about it.
Well, it's actually what you usually see here on Sup Forums, thought an original and plot also get praise, but that's really it.
If you happen to know what makes a good manga then you're welcome to enlighten me.
Also, I know I'm a dumb ESL-kun, and if my english is that bad then I'm ready to get banned, till then I'll continue to post.

>Still doesn't change
Sorry, no getting out of this one sunshine. You practically admitted your stupidity by suggesting 1 person on Sup Forums holds more value than more than 1 person outside of Sup Forums, many in the industry.

Idiots like you simply aren't worth any respect. I'd advise everyone to steer clear of reading this post.

>Sorry, no getting out of this one sunshine. You practically admitted your stupidity by suggesting 1 person on Sup Forums holds more value than more than 1 person outside of Sup Forums, many in the industry
You're pratically admitting that a newfag on Sup Forums holds more value than the test of Sup Forums, many oldfag. Idiots like you simply aren't worth any respect. I'd advise everyone to steer clear of reading this post.

Are you claiming that most of Sup Forums, let alone Sup Forums's oldfags, think that TLR is better than UY?

Are you claiming most of Sup Forums can think for themselves?

>the idiotic ESL keeps digging himself deeper and deeper

Urusei Yatsura:
>Alpha male MC who is relentless in his pursuit of pussy. All but one of the girls hate him, He's constantly beaten, his parents despise him, has the worst luck in the world, and yet he gives no fucks and still does his best to charm any good looking babe he sees.
To Love-Ru:
>Beta male MC with little to no personality. Exists solely as a vessel for the viewers to project themselves into. All the girls love him and want to fuck him because he's nice or did something for them, even though he's about as interesting as a lamp post. He passively rejects sex with them regularly to avoid a "lewd" situation.

Urusei Yatsura:
>A comedy series driven by a fun, dynamic cast of diverse, over-the-top personalities
To Love-Ru:
>Pornography disguised as an "ecchi comedy" so it can be serialized in Jump

Urusei Yatsura:
>Historically important work that helped redefine the anime/manga medium and is celebrated to this day
To Love-Ru:
>The only thing people will remember, and the only thing people read this shit for in the first place, was Kentaro Yabuki's art

...

Nope, I never clamied that, if you read my other post I state that UY is far better then TLR, I just say that TLR get too much shit and UY too many praise, only a retard would think otherwise.
>Implying that all those post are mine

>UY too many praise
By who? Most of Sup Forums hasn't even seen it, anymore.

...
