chapters like this are why most of us don't buy volumes, aren't they? on that subject: volume 18 should be out and uploaded by now (it came out 2-3 days ago), so I'll update the mega whenever. Though, I doubt that many of you use it, even now.
Chapter 172: Amusement
Noah Perry
>Musashi: Boy. >M: You say that you... >M: Will kill me?
Leo Taylor
>Baki: Well.. >B: It's embarrassing to hear when you say it like that. >B: Musashi-san. >B: You don't belong in this world. >M: Boy.
Eli Smith
>M: Even I realize that. >M: This is not a place where I can climb by cutting. >B: So, you knew.
Connor Garcia
>B: Still, you cut way too much. >M: Hmm. And you wish to take revenge. >B: Well... >B: That was the plan...
Carter Nguyen
>M: Alright! >M: Then, wreak it upon me here!
Hudson Rodriguez
>M: I cannot climb, yet, I still cut. >M: I know of nothing else. >B: Isn't gonna happen. >B: Even if I were to beat an exhausted version of you...
Oliver Cox
...
Henry Bell
>B: See? >B: Just look at this.
Angel Cooper
>B: Normally, I'd have been cut clean in half. >B: You're not really "Miyamoto Musashi" anymore. >M: Little boy...
Jacob Nguyen
>B: Exactly. >B: Right now, you can't even cut this little boy.
Parker Johnson
>M: Mm... >M: Sometimes, I talk to no end, even with boys. >M: I wonder if it will still be amusing.
I am somewhat uncertain about the second line. Musashi's speech is often a bit obscure, but this line is particularly strange. Chances are that I'm right, but be aware that I might not be.
Mason Peterson
...
Aaron Carter
>B: Thanks, >B: For being soft there.
Juan Wood
>M: I shall repeat myself. >M: In this place, come, take your revenge. >M: Now. Right here.
Jacob Gomez
>Tokugawa: Don't harass him like that. >M: Ohh... >B: Old man... >M: We were able to meet again, Tokugawa! >T: Your bath's all ready. >T: You're coming home tonight.
Brayden Mitchell
>M: Very well! >Utsumi: ESCORT THEM!!!
Henry Brown
>M: Heh-heh... >M: What a great rise I've made. >M: Is this not... >M: Climbing well by cutting?
Benjamin Fisher
Forgot to say "End chapter". So, end chapter.
Anyway, here's a recent photograph of Itagaki (right) and some Hawaiian fighter (left). There's an actual date for their open chat thing at UFC Fight Night Japan, now: it's on September 23, at the Saitama Super Arena. So, if you are going to be in Japan around then, and would like to see/meet Itagaki, there's your chance!
Matthew Kelly
There's also a brief interview/chat with the two of them in the magazine. I haven't the energy to translate it, as it seems to be just meaningless back-and-forth, in a manner similar to all Japanese talk shows. Though, there is a neat take-away:
Fun fact: apparently, when Itagaki was 19, he spent a month living in the wilderness in the mountains. He spent that time thinking about means by which he could take down a bear in a fair fight. Abe Daichi, the 19(?) year-old Hawaiian, calls Itagaki a dumbass for that. I stopped reading after that.
So, anyway, I guess that Itagaki used and/or uses experiences from his own life as a source of inspiration in making bits of Baki. He's an interesting fellow, Itagaki.
Austin Foster
Itagaki sez:
I solemnly swear this: I shall read a new book every week! And I won't cheat at it!
True end chapter.

>when Itagaki was 19, he spent a month living in the wilderness in the mountains. He spent that time thinking about means by which he could take down a bear in a fair fight What the hell.
Lincoln Morgan
Oh, wait, I just looked at it again. I was wrong. Mistook a particle. He was just asking Daichi if that was what *he* spent his time thinking about. Serves me right for skimming. Daichi still calls him retarded, though.

I actually enjoyed the chapter
I like the whole "climb through the world by cutting" concept mentioned throughout and ended on, and even if it riles people up I think the sudden bath time is a well overdue funny moment
