She said that most people with doctorates nowadays think we should people transition into their preferred gender so they're comfy. So I thought why? Because they want the paycheck from that person undergoing the still experimental treatments and procedures for one to transition. Really not that hard, any kind of doctor or psychiatrist who can peddle pills or recommendations to the physicians needed for transition gets money, and these people are then treated as guinea pigs for them to learn more about these procedures themselves. Most of these doctors admit they're still constantly learning about these conditions and medical procedures, which many result in lifelong medical problems, no sex drive or ability to orgasm, heighten preexisting mental issues(which yes these people usually have mental issues to begin with in order to feel the disassociation they feel), and early death, to "help" these people into their new lifestyles. Then they can parade their successful cases in the media to entice new guinea pigs to undergo these experiments, meaning more money for doctors.

From a purely clinical standpoint, it is a mental illness. A combination of mental illness more often then not, depending on the individual. A mental illness (according to the DSM-V) comprises any deviance in normal thought and behavior that causes marked distress in social, family, and occupational life. So even without giving it diagnostic criteria, transgenderism is a mental illness.
Disgusting how they've muddied the waters, and changed years of scientific fact and toil just to appeal to people who don't want to face the truth that they're mentally ill. It sucks for upcoming psychologists and counselors that value scientific accuracy that we can't properly treat these poor people without being ostracized professionally. They're very clearly sick, don't normalize mental illness, that's counterproductive to TREATING THE DAMN ILLNESS.
