I've actually never seen any 1994 anime.

...

This year fucking sucked. It's either this, Cat's Eye or Captain Tsubasa.

Stop making me feel old.

...

Mad Bull 34, Iczer 3, and Exkaiser come to mind

Eva is the best anime ever.

>1991
Shit year for TV shows.

For OVAs, Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory came out.

For movies, Only Yesterday from Isao Takahata.

Can't complain I guess.

...

Nadia the Secret of Blue Water

Only seen that one, Record of Lodoss War, A-Ko the Versus and much of Moomins on TV when I grew up. Nadia and maybe Moomins are the only good ones.

>1987
i didn't ask for this

...

You just made me feel really old.
Must be good to be born in a year with that much good anime though.

>1998
>This person is an adult

98 was a great year for anime. Lain and Kare Kano are the best ones from that year in my opinion.

...

Oh boy, it's that time of the week when oldfags cry about how old they are when they're mostly only around 25-35. Suck a dick and stop lamenting on your "old" age. You're not old until you're at least 40-50

Utena

No contest

>84
Nausicaa and dyrl.

The only stuff I've seen from that year is Pokemon and the latter half of Nadesiko.
Thanks for making me feel bad.

Is Utena or GaoGaiGar worth watching? I know /m/ loves the crap out of the latter but they also agree it has a long stretch of filler episodes for the first half of the show.

1990 was actually a pretty weak year and while there were a few stand out OVA's, most of what came out was the classic kodomo shows of the time period. Dragon Ball Z was going strong at this time and there were a few pre Sailor Moon mahou shojo but I objectively believe Devil Hunter Yoko to be the AOTY based on what 90's stuff I've seen.

...

Utena now, GaoGaiGar yes but there are better Yuusha entries.
>but they also agree it has a long stretch of filler episodes for the first half of the show.
A slowly paced plot, but filler? Fuck no.

at least we understand that it won't be long before we reach that point too. there's not much meaning in complaining about it to us.

>Utena no
Did not mean to put a W there

...

It's fucking annoying and pretentious. Being 10 years older than the younger anons isn't "old", it's a pretty close age distribution actually. At extremes there are also 13 year olds, sadly, and 45 year olds, but those are both at the end of the spectrum. 18-28 is a pretty reasonable scale.

>A slowly paced plot, but filler? Fuck no.

So something more like Macross 7, which drags on and on before they lose the colony, but at the same time it's all non-skippable?

94' had Akazukin Chacha, Dirty Pair Flash, Marmalade Boy, Sailor Moon S, a few Tenchi Muyo installments, G Gundam, Magic Knight Rayearth, Mahoujin Guru Guru and Key the Metal Idol. It was a fairly solid year.

I love this show

Yu Yu Hakusho

SDF Macross.

Damn good series.

this

Macross 7
G/Victory Gundam
Votoms

Yeah, those are two of my favourite anime. And you could watch nothing but 1998 anime for months and watch nothing but great anime and masterpieces, well depending on how much you watch. I also really liked Princess Nine and Cardcaptor Sakura. Oh, and Lodoss War.

But when we are at the highest end of the "reasonable scale" we haven't long left before we move into the extremes

>93
the cockpit
I just love war movies

Shit, what was good that came out in 90?

>1993
but eva is the oldest thing i've seen

>a 1/10 anime
>good
Pretty much, but a fuck of a lot better and more action packed.

Kanon 2006, what other animu stands out from the ones that aired on that year?

>Evangelion
>Slayers
>Please Save My Earth
>Armitage III
>Ruin Explorers
>Whisper of the Heart
>Gunsmith Cats
>Golden Boy
>Ghost in the Shell
>Memories
>Macross Plus movie
Pretty good year overall. I explicitly avoided mentioning a particular series, though.

See >Shit year for TV shows.
Fghbird came out and that was the best Yuusha.

>Fighbird
Also ignore /m/'s epic /y/ning when it comes to Fighbird, it's much better than they say it is, especially the villains. Draias is a top tier mecha villain.

...

The only anime from '93 I've seen was Gakusaver.
Gakusaver was great, so I'm not complaining.

wtf Please Save My Earth was 90s??? I was sure it was the 80s

Romeo no Aoi Sora?

Cowboy Bebop.

I'm going to get shit for picking this over Akira, aren't I.

It's not a controversial opinion, Akira itself gets a lot of shit

Toradora.

Not unthinkable, but would someone your age appreciate that type of romance? Or is it perhaps the characters you like?

new rule, you cannot watch any new anime until youve see all the anime that aired the year you were born

The manga is from the 80s, but the anime isn't.
What I didn't want to mention was Wing, because it's terrible.

Top best anime list of 1994:
- Junkers Come Here
- Pom Poko
- Crayon Shin-chan 2
- The Life of Guskou Budori
- Macross Plus

Solid line up, first two especially are modern classics in my opinion.

...

I like Minorin.

1988 had a ton of great stuff. I mean, Akira is still better, but there's a lot to choose from.

>Heldensagen vom Kosmosinsel
the nips never get german right
like the muricans
Schweinehunde

Pokemon? I don't know, was too young in 97.

89' reporting in
as for movie
Kiki's Delivery Service

as for series
DBZ and Ranma

No matter what you think of this, it's impossible to argue that anything else that came out in 1985 was better. What an absolute trash year for anime.

Well at least you choose second best girl.

so old

...

Only thing that stands out because everything else is long-running shit.

Night on the Galactic Railroad is a classic, I prefer it to Angel's Egg even. There are a number of decent to good cult movies too, like Bobby's Girl or Time Etranger.

...

...

Looked pretty similar to American cartoons of the same time.

SDF Macross was the one everyone remembers from '82, but Urusei Yatsura (continuing from the previous year) is still my favorite anime.

>eurocorp

Check out Gauche the Cellist if you haven't seen it.

One of the original proto-tsundere

>Legend of the Galactic Heroes
>My Neighbor Totoro
>Grave of the Fireflies
>Akira
>Patlabor
>Appleseed
>Starship Troopers
>Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack

Pretty good!

go easy on me, there isn't much bundeswehr art to begin with

If you were born in 92' and your answer isn't Yu Yu Hakusho then you need to kill yourself.

10/10 best anime ever

(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

Most underrated Gundam.

Tell me, what does the average 1 year old shitpost about? You're enjoying sucking on boobs as much as you please, right?

My brother from another mother.

1997 Rurouni Kenshin

youtube.com/watch?v=pTMe1vhUxh0

...

Good point. Somehow I had '86 in my head for both Galactic Railroad and Time Étranger.

Still, there was definitely nothing good on TV.

1997 was a good year

City Hunter.

People like Dirty Pair. I'm kind of of the opinion that most all TV anime sucks though, so it's not as though other years are different.

>Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
>City Hunter
>Patlabor

It was good, I guess...

Easily G Gundam for 1994. Macross 7 gets second place though.

Just finished this. Wish there was more. Anyway get out you underage faggot

Good excuse to actually finally watch Dragon Ball Z

I respect Arakawa a lot but if I'm honest I like the old designs a lot more than hers. The more recent version is a lot more unique, poetic, and almost dreamlike.
youtube.com/watch?v=BL0Uvb-sbRc

*the older version

...

did anything good come out in 1999

Macross aired in 94 I guess
