Boku Girl

Are there no archives of older chapters live Tls? Are they gone forever? Will we experience softness ever again?

I hope someone picks it up again, such a comfy series.

Helvetica is already doing it. Do you live under a rock?

Its all been translated though, also one of the best romcons i ever read in my top 5 fav manga

It was fully TLed a while ago user
the original scanlator dropped it because some other guy picked it up and stole his epeen by getting doing faster, lower-quality scalations
though the low-quality chapters are all being redone by a new TL group now

The other guy only did one side chapter, the main tl was a drama queen and overreacted.

Ah. Then the releases by Boku Boy must have started at some point after that.

Hmmm, is boko girl the best genderswap manga of all time?

As a giant fag who reads tons of genderbender manga, probably yeah
I like Ame Nocchi Hare a lot too, but that one's more shoujoish

Why did the live TL on Sup Forums end anyway? I completely forgot the drama around it.

Yes. I have certainly not read any better.

Anime when?

some other guy TLed the bonus chapter (pic related) before livetl user got to it, so he got buttmad and ragequit

definition of sperg, jesus christ

Understandable that was a REALLY good chapter

final bump for interest

This shit was mad gay.

My nigga. Ame Nochi Hare kicks ass. I just wish the artist could draw female characters correctly.

>Will we experience softness ever again?
Like all good things, it has come to an end. Just remember fondly the good times and move on.

You could also buy this, or start dumping again to revive the old glory

Ok faggots, ITT
1)best chapter
2)best Live TL you can remember

>55 is amazing
>17 was the absolute most unexpected turn of events.

>best chapter
44
>best live TL
23. Or for that matter, the bonus chapter

That was my favorite chapter too, I cant recall which one it was though. Everything after that one was blue haring character after another getting in the way.

There was also that one chapter where takeru hallucinated about mizuki always being a girl, but i can't remember the number or name of the fucking chapter...

Hell no.

provide a counterexample

>inb4 ranma
Doesn't count,

Why not?
t. never read ranma but has it somewhere on my backlist

>check out the mangaka to see if he has a new manga
>only a oneshot in 2016
>his website isn't all that active either

i get BG may not be one of the best selling series in japan, but surely the artist did a good enough work with it to warrant him some regular work, right?

>1)best chapter
The one where you could say they basically had sex.
>2)best Live TL you can remember
The ones with visiting the father.

>"Genderswap? Eh, I dunno. Sounds kind of out there"
>Read Boku Girl
>"HOLY SHIT I LOVE GENDERSWAP. I HAVE TO FIND MORE"
>It's the only good romance genderswap ever

Figures. Still a great manga. The way he slowly started acting like a girl was great. And based Takeru deserved to win, dude went through so much shit and was protecting him/her the entire way, helping at every opportunity. Honestly if I had a friend like him and turned into a girl I'd totally marry him, no homo.

Because the genderswap thing was there as a source for jokes and a bit of ettchi, in boko the story is centered around the genderswap. Its not a gendersap manga, it just has genderswap in it.

That chapter was cute as fuck jesus

>the genderswap thing was there as a source for jokes and a bit of ettchi
Ranma isn't the only manga like that for sure.

Ame nochi hare is amazing.

Prunus girl is another great gender bender

So are Kanojo ni naru hi and Kanojo ni naru hi Another (two manga set in the same world essentially)

>Prunus girl is another great gender bender
I've seen at least 2 recs of this but as far as I can tell it's just an ecchi manga about a cute trap teasing the MC and there's no genderbending involved at all. I read the first chapter and then put it down because I'm not terribly interested in that.

>Prunus Girl
>gender bender

Are you dumb

Did this end up having a satisfying ending? I lost interest when it seemed like we were just going down the usual route of nothing happening for no reason forever.

Ame Nochi Hare is much better than Boku Girl as far as feelings and actual emotional drama is concerned, in my opinion.
If only it didn't update ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS

What's the author up to these days?

Oh shit didn't know that

...

Is it gay if Mizuki is my waifu?

That depends, pre-magic, or post-magic?

I mean, design wise anywhere's fine honestly

Personality wise though, definitely best in the last stages of the manga

Boku Girl was badly paced. It would have been better if it has been significantly shorter. I got the feeling that the manga was more popular than the author expected and he just kept adding filler to make it keep going, such as by introducing a stream of annoying characters whose sole purpose was to delay the main couple from hooking up. And the way Takeru and Mizuki kept almost fucking only to be interrupted by something stupid and then both of them behaving as if nothing ever happened got old.

I also didn't like the fact that Mizuki acted stupidly, such having no idea how women use a toilet and doing it backwards, and was too passive and helpless. The fact Mizuki looked the same regardless of sex and spent most of the manga living as a boy also did not appeal to me.

I preferred other series such as Ame Nochi Hare, a more serious series with better character interactions and nobody acting stupidly, Kanojo Ni Naru Hi Another, also a rather serious take on the subject, Nozomu Nozomi, which had a strong and good focus on the protagonist dealing with her transformation, and Remix Heart, a relatively light-hearted series that did a good job showing the protagonist adjusting to and accepting her femininity.

>What is Kanojo ni Naru Hi

>genderbender
into the trash

I feel like it did, "take responsibility" are the best two words in literature

I think you forgot this was a romCOM, things like side characters cock blocking tekaru and characters acting stupidly was there to make you laugh and create unique situations in an attempt to entertain you, seems to me you lost sight of that homing in on the mizuki getting banged or maybe you didn't enjoy the style and thats understandable.

I don't agree that Mizuki not changing very much for the first half of the manga was bad and thought it was paced really well, slow trickle into a cascade. I would agree mizuki and tekaru almost fucking then acting like nothing happened was pretty stupid but it WAS addressed the 1st time, the 3rd time mizuki didn't remember and the 4th time they ended up together . Only the time tekaru rapes mizuki in the PE storage room never gets addressed and that bothered the fuck out of me

I read many gender benders if not all the translated ones and none are on par with boku girl, but then again I'm not a Transgender so I don't find the self insert ones very good. I'm not going to go as far to deconstruct the ones you posted but again BG is a romCON, its not serious. Also the fact that you think remix heart was even readable brings your mental stability and opinion into question.

>the time tekaru rapes mizuki in the PE storage room never gets addressed
What the hell man she asked for it. That's how you initiate first sex, assault girl and if girls does not scream proceed. Well it does sound weird when put like that but that's how it works.

This and its spin off were most definitely better than Boku Girl.

The story going for the low-hanging fruit in order to generate laughs, such as the protagonist being confused about how girls pee did not amuse me. And I did not like all the stalling in order to preserve the uncertainty about Mizuki and Takeru's relationship. It felt like a harem series where the character relationships are kept in stasis because the authors seem to think that a story has to end the moment two characters hook up. To be honest I would have preferred it if Boku Girl had followed the example of Kanojo Ni Naru Hi and had the characters hook up without much interference and then continued with them as a couple.

I'm not transgender either and I don't see why you seem to consider the manga I listed as self-insert stories anymore than Boku Girl is.

I enjoyed Remix Heart. It had some pretty silly chapters but it also had a number of serious ones. And despite being relatively light-hearted, it showed its protagonist struggling with the effects of her transformation to her identity and with adjusting to her new life. I liked the fact that the MC actually lived as a girl surrounded by other girls instead of trying to live as a guy or spending most her time with a male best friend. I also liked that Mai only spent a few chapters in denial over her feelings before admitting to herself and her friends that she has fallen in love with a guy instead of stalling for most of the series.

>followed the example of Kanojo Ni Naru Hi and had the characters hook up without much interference and then continued with them as a couple
that manga actually originally ended at the first volume, right after the couple got together
but a while later the mangaka decided to come back to it and continue the story

I am aware of that. But I think it was a good idea to do that. It was a nice change of pace after so many stories that end the moment two characters kiss.

Yeah, and it wasn't as good.

I'm sorry but remix heart is to much of a blow to your credibility for me to continue discourse on the topic. You seem pretty articulate but what you did, in my opinion, is give a fair but harsh cratique of Lord of the rings then turn around and tell me Steven universe has superior world building and narrative. There is no way I can take that seriously.

My own internal bias can't handle that, but I bare you no ill will beyond that.

I really wouldn't equate Boku Girl with LotR as it has a number of flaws. And I think you are extremely harsh with Remix Heart. How much time does Mizuki spend on introspection?

I liked the ending. It was pretty comfy. Though I agree it wasn't as good.

I still remember the shitshow that was Mizuki's dad introduction.

There is a spanish translation (You) know?
