I really got the impression that this show was written backwards, in that the confrontations between the big characters are pretty good and would seem amazing in a vacuum, but the actual build up to them is full of holes and conveniences that actually detract form them somewhat. Cal's showdown in the church especially suffered from this. Shit nigga just tell her you thought she was dead and why, it's not really too hard for her to believe.
