Trigger Studio

Why do they care so much about the West in comparison to other studios?

Good taste.

They do? I don't remember any sort of western pandering in Kill la Kill and Luluco

But they don't? Certainly not any moreso than the usual fare in the anime production.

I feel as if LWA and Luluco have a style that is more common in Western animation, like with the erratic animation and colorful palette.
They did rely on Kickstarter for their 2nd film, which is much less used in Japan, so they clearly seem to be focusing towards the Western side moreso than other studios.

>I feel as if LWA and Luluco have a style that is more common in Western animation, like with the erratic animation and colorful palette.

Just go suck some sakuga cock so they can properly teach you about the different art movements within Japanese animation so you'll clearly see their art style has absolutely nothing to do with Hannah Barbera school of cartoons.
Or better yet, just watch some fucking anime older than 2005 and you'll see where they're coming from.

>They did rely on Kickstarter for their 2nd film
And then promptly dropped the idea for all their further endeavours. Also, there were tons of similar kickstarters at the time. You just don't know about them, because, surprise surprise, they didn't get the Sup Forums juggernaut behind them and failed to meet their goals.

Hoping to return to the 1980s era of working as a subcontractor for americans. This allows them to ask for twice as much pay, while still costing less than half of americans.

>I feel as if LWA and Luluco have a style that is more common in Western animation

Open your eyes, dont exist western animation similar to Luluco and Lwa, (Adventure, SU and canadian animation are similar to Trigger?)

They know we have money.

It's probably a studio founded in secret by Adult Swim/Cartoon Network/Toonami
It's disgusting how they cater to westernbabbies

i wonder why

yes, I too think Trigger's work looks like Steven Universe and the New Powerpuff Girls. Trigger is just soooo western.

They have shit taste

this

They do know how to make Americans laugh. I'll give them credits for that.

They shitpost on Sup Forums.

Because all their shows flop in Japan and they can Jew out western otaku

I saw that on the livestream and it was cringe as hell. How can people laugh at random trash where 80% of the joke is someone yelling? There's no punchline, no cleverness. I'm guessing ninja slayer is the same. Triggerniggers are truly the lowest common denominator.

Better question? Why do all of their shows get so much attention on Sup Forums despite being so mediocre?
Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academy especially, I've watched Inferno Cop, Kiznaiver, Inoue Battle, Sex and Violence with Mach Speed, Ninja Slayer,Kiznaiver and Space Patrol Luluco and absolutely none of this stuff was worth the time. It always seems like their worlds and characters have potential to be interesting but they completely flub it

LWA movies are good, Inferno Cop is all right and Luluco is good.

It's not Sup Forums. It's/v/ermin crossboarders

they'd have to be pretty big westaboos to make panty and stocking

plus they get netflix bux

Hey, fuck you! you fuckers invade Sup Forums all the time!

I think they didn't get the big following in japan they hoped for when they first split from gainax and they found out it's easier to pander to western retards

>all western animation is on cartoon network
Who let this retard on the internet.

Their stuffs are over the top and crazy as hell, which is just fun, both to watch and to shitpost about. This applies to Luluco, Inferno Cop and KLK, which most of Sup Forums loves. This does not apply to Kiznaiver and LWA's 2nd season, which most of Sup Forums hates.

Nips have shit taste. They know this.

>This applies to Luluco, Inferno Cop and KLK, which most of Sup Forums loves

*Sup Forums

I thought it was because the West loved Gainax (Or at least, will only give the time of day to Gainax not counting Ghibli), and since Trigger is made from ex-Gainax folks, they remembered that the west loved their work and are just showing their love back.

Because the world doesn't revolve around you and just because you dislike something and think it's mediocre doesn't mean it's actually is, retard. Their shows are fun and definitively above average.

No

Yes

Yoshinari and Imaishi are known westaboos

They have no other choice at this point.

>westaboo
I've gotta be honest, I hate this term. It makes no sense. A weeaboo is someone that worships Japan and wishes they were Japanese, but I've never seen any "westaboo" that acts like the reverse of that. Imaishi and Yoshinari might like certain pop culture coming from the West, but their work is flagrantly Japanese at the core.

*freeaboo

You're overthinking it. Even though you're right.

because the west is the best

the popularity of anime in the west is not a sign of their influence on us, its our influence on them. They're being assimilated.

Let me correct you in that Ninja Slayer has pretty much nothing to do with Inferno Cop, despite the gimmick which it uses. NS takes itself completely serious and plays the 1-frame animation sequences 100% straight, making it pretty much a regular action anime at least in my eyes.

Maybe they realized that world wide distribution bring more money than local distribution.
A concept japanese people have lots of difficult to process.

>Population of Japan
>127 Million

>Population of the United States
>325 Million

Ninja Slayer sucks. It's the third worst Trigger anime after Kiz and Inou, and only slightly better than those because of the fight scenes and OST.

Recite your death haiku.

Those numbers are unfair- there are 35 million illegals, legals and anchor babies in the USA boosting their population beyond what it would otherwise be. Japan has fewer than 4 million non-citizens both legal and illegal.

>non-American spotted

The humor of Americans in their teens/20s/30s has been increasingly shaped by outlandish stuff like you'd find on late night Adult Swim.

Oh, my bad.

So the US only has 300 million compared to Japan's 123 million.

The US is still much larger, genius.

You can visit more than one board, shitposter-san.

>japanese studio does western cartoons better than westerners who try to poorly imitate japanese anime

This. They'll eat up whatever wish-fulfillment Isekai garbage you throw at them.

KLK is great, pleb.

So does the west. People just have shit taste in general, it really has nothing to do with west vs east.

I love Trigger.

This is a shit opinion. LWA TV is their only bad work.

Yeah, if Sup Forums is any indicator, most Western anime fans only want self-insert action shit and uguu moe trash just as much as nips.

Tattun you faggot, if you stumble upon this thread:
Where is the Patreon you hack?

Western tastes aren't any better. Reddit being one of the most popular sites, has sort of a seasonal popularity poll measured by number of posts. Shit like KonoSuba, Reddit Zero, Boku no Hero Academia or Gamers have been at the top in their respective seasons. None of that trash is any better than your average isekai show, some even are isekais as well.

Why are you so eager to give them money, goy? They should be ashamed for even thinking about opening a patreon and begging for public funding.

Sup Forums's taste is no better. Hence the constant overbearing presence of shounentrash threads and cheaply produced SoL shows.

Anchor babies still watch anime senpai, just look at Dragon Ball Super threads

that doesnt make any sense at all

Why should they be? If a Patreon means they will be able to produce originals with full control of what they want to do and without having to rely on producers taking hold of their IP, I would be glad to donate to it.

Partially because the west funded their LWA Kickstarter, partially because Trigger has a bunch of westaboos.

But also because they see that the west is effectively an untapped market compared to Japan, where many companies still have the "WHITE PIGGU GO HOME" attitude. The Netflix bucks have also become an added incentive. Japan has declining birth rates and a limited population, revenue will only grow so much with the current size of the Otaku population. The west and China are the future heavy weights of the industry.

> I've gotta be honest, I hate this term. It makes no sense.

Contrary to popular opinion, "Weeaboo" is not actually a real word, rather it is nonsense coined by a webcomic, in which utterance of it would result in a group of men paddling your behind.

Westaboo is equally as nonsense, so I don't see a problem.

>But also because they see that the west is effectively an untapped market compared to Japan, where many companies still have the "WHITE PIGGU GO HOME" attitude

Are you stupid or something? The anime industry has been tapping on the western market for decades. Trigger was not the first to open a kickstarter, nor the first to have its show air on Netflix. And those venues are definitely not the biggest in terms of 'tapping the western market'. Hundreds of anime have aired on actual TV stations in the west long before you were born.

>Contrary to popular opinion, "Weeaboo" is not actually a real word, rather it is nonsense coined by a webcomic

Oh, so how are real words coined? Do they magically appear out of nowhere?

that is exactly what they do

Missed the multiple game refs - western games - in both...

Hey, we finally took a step forward in this diatribe. We're at the point in which Triggerfags don't deny being Sup Forumsermins anymore. Progress!

Anime is saved once again

People use a word, the word takes on whatever meaning the people associate with it. (see : selfie)
That's literally how language was/is formed.

>Contrary to popular opinion, "Weeaboo" is not actually a real word, rather it is nonsense coined by a webcomic, in which utterance of it would result in a group of men paddling your behind.

Moot must be turning in his cushy Google chair right now.
The word's origin is literally the old Sup Forums word filter.
>But it's stupid.
Desu, people like you should get banned for life. Desu.

knowyourmemes claims that it was Perry Bible Fellowship that had the word weeaboo first, and that Sup Forums mods used it to replace the old insult wapanese with that word.
In the end, it doesn't matter.
Everyone's just an anonymous asshole trying to fit in in everyone's asshole.

>Hence the constant overbearing presence of [the meme-est junk]
It's as if people tend to be plebeians. No way!
Stop the presses!

More like why do other outfits ignore the large and expanding western market

>trends are not projections

isn't that literally a projection though

Because of newfags. Their shows are consistently mediocre, but pandering to westerners allows them to have their niche.

They enjoy western cartoons, that's why

Because they aren't as narrow-minded as most japanese people are. Muh pride etc

They look to Tumblr for inspiration. LWA was the most westernized anime I've seen, and Trigger is actually the worst possible studio to "save anime".

Bad taste

Isn't that.... the super banned drill knife?

>Trigger
>Drills

They saved anime for me.

Not even real SOL either, just moeshit masquerading as. Man Kyoani is a shit studio. Thank god for Trigger

They are good at different things. You can't really compare those 2 studios to each other. Same with all the Shaft v KyoAni bullshittery.

LWA just looks classic western animation inspired and harry potter.
Trash like P&S looks like straight western animation garbage. Still shocked its not western.

P&S isn't even Trigger you fucking shitstain.

Well technically it was since the staff that made it are all at Trigger, but user is still a faggot

did you really have to look up weeaboo? thats sooo pro skub

Nope

I think it's trying to say that it isn't a proper projection (taking into account the sudden increase at the end and the lull in the middle) but a simple extrapolation of the current money/time ratio to the end of the donation period.

Because they know we'll pay top dollar for anything japanese

Much like many retards in the west, they have got addicted to the postmodern western version of "irony".

its pretty much an untapped goldmine despite FUNimation & other company's that bring anime to the west.

Projections are predictions made based on trends. Trends = past, projections = future.
