Gakusen Toshi Asterisk

What went wrong with The Asterisk War?

Ayato

Yuri spin-off is good.

Not enough Claudia.

Too much Pink Houki and Ichika 2.0.

Is by far better than rakudai
Fuck digibro

Claudia a shit.

What a fucking slut

The entire series basically forgot that Ayato had any motivation until the very end, when the conflict finally became personal for him. Everything until then was just him getting involved in other people's bullshit for no particular reason other than he just happened to be there.

Everything.

Sorry that you're underaged

Everything, expository dialogue that feels wooden, and Ayato.
And Sup Forums still defends this travesty.

You best not be lying about the existence of this.

Yuri spin-off adaptation when

I'll tell you what went right.

This except more Sylvia

This. Also Ayato is overpowered as fuck and he has almost no personality.

What went right?

You're joking, right? Claudia was worst and most irrelevant girl by far.

It should never have went past the conceptual stage.

Julis of course.

But Julis was shit.

Butthurt Rakudaifags and Digibro trolling because Asterisk is better than Rakudai.

No you.

It's really generic battle harem, nothing special about it. Extra 12 episodes doesn't make it better.

This.

Julis > Saya > Kirin > Ernesta > Vamp Sisters > Claudia

It's genuinely bland, battle harem with annoying bad plot. Not even enjoyable like smartphone jesus. With Rakudai at least you will remember the over aching love story.

>over aching love story

God damn this swimsuit is too much
>doesn't show the goods but shows enough to know she shaves

Main girl is worst girl, as usual

This again? It was just mediocre as hell. There are worse shows to care and bitch, you know. And honestly as far as battle school harem goes, it did okay for its genre as guilty pleasure sport-like entertainment and fun without caring too much about the plot.

Claudia isn't the main girl though.

>smartphone jesus
>enjoyable
>Rakudai
>over aching love story
Consider suicide.

OP was talking about Asterisk, not Rakudai.

Yeah its like they in somekind of fever 24/7, ready to make baby in the next alley.

Isekai wa Smartphone is literally the most bland and most offensive harem and isekai to come out in the past few years.

Toradora is a love story. Golden Time is a love story. Nagi no Asukara is a love story. How is Rakudai a love story when the heroine fell in love with the MC within like 3 episodes?

both mains were boringly vanilla and overshadowed by Kiring-chan & Saya partners, and Claudia not getting any time.

First season came out in a pretty weak season which made it look better by comparison. Second season wasn't much worse nor better, but came out with higher quality competition which people opted for. That's the non meme answer

For the readers, have they went to the grips festa yet?

Needed a full-fledged Saya arc, the best girl in the show.

Nothing.

We never got to see Saya's tits

>How is Rakudai a love story when the heroine fell in love with the MC within like 3 episodes?
What the fuck kind of question is this?

>Saya
>tits

Not enough hmanga. Also, I want to fuck Claudia from behind

MUH

You must be retarded.

How does the amount of time it takes for people to fall in love have anything to do with whether or not the work they belong in can be considered a love story?

>How is Rakudai a love story when the heroine fell in love with the MC within like 3 episodes?

What was Saya for?

Love.

Kirin should have been the main heroine.

I see asterisk vs rakudai, but where's test platoon?

didn't test platoon's subs drop out midway through because it completely butchered the material? maybe i misremember. the bunny was useless, in any case.

It's the odd one out.

Gentle headpats. NOT lewd

Literally no development, drama, and gains from a journey pursuing romance =/= love story.

>NOT lewd
Are you sure?

It's weird but after the anime aired I completely lost interest in the LN, which I read a bit before the anime announcement even happened.

At least the ED is god tier, I still listen to it all the time.

It doesn't have a season 3.

Ironic since the anime was basically an advertisement for the LN. Especially season two.

Waiting for the Rain > S2 ED
S2 OP > S1 OP

Too damn slow and uninteresting. Tournaments weren't exciting at all since we had to actually sit through the boring mook fights
I doubt any subbing group read the actual source material to get mad about how much the anime butchered it.
No tournament arcs and the LN was actually really entertaining.

I've read both rakudai and gakusen, rakudai was the more retarded one.

Are you stupid?

Rakudai had plenty of relationship growth and drama after the kiss. I dare say it was one of the stronger parts of show. Seeing them learning how to deal with and talk to one another, how to grow thier relationship, talking about whether or not have sex and WHY.

Their relationship was an everpresent aspect of the show from the third episode. I mean yeah, if your idea of a love story is tripping and falling face first into a girls cleavage and getting punched for it while she secretly goes "Why can't I just tell him how much I like him", or Asterisk tier stringing girls along not making any choices or advancing a relationship by passively waiting for the pussy to throw themselves at you because you're the bland, mindles, no personality MC then yeah, by your inane, braindead, and completely worthless opinion, I guess it's not a "love story".

Rakudai goes fully retarded soon after the next set of tournaments begin.

Does the guy on the lower right not have arms?

They're behind his back

Nothing. it's an hastily cobbled together mess made to fill in the gap Infinite Stratos left.
if you thought it was more than that, then that's your fault.

Only was able to stomach the first 4 episodes, but Asterisk War is just straight up bland from start to finish. Not a single new or interesting idea. The execution of said ideas is by-the-books. Characters have nothing compelling about them. Fight scenes were boring. All it had going for it was a nice ED.

It's a straight-up stale piece of bread.

>What went wrong with The Asterisk War?
I hear someone made some youtube videos adressing this.
