Gundam: Recoguista in G 5 movies

Where were you when we got F I V E g-reco movies?
twitter.com/Char_Tweet/status/908933032362508288

That's a pretty good sign. G-Reco could benefit from a longer runtime.

IBO>Greco shit

Why the actual fuck?

The series was shit, no one liked it (here or in Japan), and barely sold anything for a Gundam series. Who in their right minds would approve this project?

Tomino is rolling around in way too much money. Fuck.

>The series was shit, no one liked it (here or in Japan), and barely sold anything for a Gundam series

>Your tastes will never be this shit
Feels good man
The series sold well and had great ratings actually and much like here only retards, like yourself, hated it.

>no one liked it (here or in Japan),
Stop falling for this meme.

The Gundam franchise is saved thank God

Based Tomino is back.

More Raraiya!

Dayum, so a compilation of the tv or new stuff?

Based Tomino

Wait, what?

>already triggered

Will the movies make the second half of the series not suck?
>first half is cool happy Tomino on Earth with likable characters
>second half goes full retard, the "threat" from outer space turns out to be a bunch of faggot jobbers, all the characters you liked from the first half either stop existing or fall apart, entire episodes are wasted on dumb shit like cleaning up space debris

No it doesn't cure stupidity user
>comes into a thread to shitpost a series he doesn't like
>calling others triggered

>26 episodes at 20 minutes each, accounting for opening and ending credits plus next episode preview
>520 minutes
>5 movies at 1 hour and 20 minutes each, accounting for opening and ending credits
>400 minutes

And? All the Gundam movies are shorter than their tv counter-parts.

UNIVERSE

Because the pacing wasn't fucked enough already.

And G Reco's biggest flaw was that they crammed 50 episodes worth of story into 26 episodes. Making the runtime even shorter is just going to exacerbate that problem.

Will MC bang his sister?

If they're still using Tomino's script, they're gonna need more than five movies for anything to make sense

And there have been 50+ episode Gundam series with 2-3 movies while G Reco only has 26 and is getting 5 movies. What more are you expecting, another movie? They might at least try to improve on the flaws of the original instead of just sticking every episode together.

>And there have been 50+ episode Gundam series with 2-3 movies
The difference being G-Reco's story and characters made no sense regardless of runtime.

>Making the runtime even shorter
But that isn't making it shorter, at worst it is the same and at best longer

520 fits nicely into the 5 104 minutes, so at worst it is just the same length

>made no sense regardless of runtime.

>not 3
>not 4
>5 fucking movies

>if I can keep repeating it others may start to believe it

Embarassing.

Reminder that Raraiya is legal.

>4 of them are happy Tomino
>the last one has a new ending and is the Gundam equivalent of Be Invoked

>They might at least try to improve on the flaws of the original
The flaw is trying to fit 10 pounds of potatoes into a 5 pound bag. It doesn't matter how you doll the bag up if the math still doesn't add up.
Those other series that have 50 episodes and 2-3 movies are able to have stuff cut out and still function as a coherent story, but you literally can't cut anything out of G Reco and have it still work.

You've got some seriously high expectations if you think we're getting 5 movies with 2 hour total runtimes each.

ly retarded

>second half goes full retard, the "threat" from outer space turns out to be a bunch of faggot jobbers
This is the point of the whole series you moron, that the people who go to war are irresponsible, incompetent, greedy idiots who simply got their hands on too much firepower and are going to repeat the black history, which is the reason the whole photon battery distribution was put in place.
>all the characters you liked from the first half either stop existing or fall apart
Not really.
>entire episodes are wasted on dumb shit like cleaning up space debris
Literally only one episode and one of the weakest of the show, which is also part of the moon arc, the sole part of the show that truly is rushed shit.

Pretty neat.

Actually awesome.

And this is literally what every Gundam movie to date should have been.

I'm hyped as fuck, this could save G-Reco and I'd love it even more if in movie it confirms G-Reco to take place after Turn A

Good, i hope they keep the same animator team from the tv series, one thing that really stood out from greco was the visual and animation, it's simply stunning

>2 hour total runtimes each
>104 minutes
So not 2 hours, even if they add and change parts. 1 hour 40 isn't an unrealistic time, in fact first 0079 movie ran that long

>Food analogy

There is literally nothing wrong with this girl.

G-RECO WAS A FAILURE THEY SAID
SUNRISE HATES IT THEY SAID
BASED GODMINO PULLED THROUGH

104 minutes of content would run about 1:55 with credits.

Half the point of the movies was that they were going to change parts, Tomino is more than aware of the shortcomings of the TV series. Personally I was only expecting 1 or 2 movies, to get 5 is a pretty fucking big deal.

Again still not 2 hours, they can easily cut that down and this is assuming no scenes are redone which shorten the length.

I also don't know where you got 2 hours is impossible from, seeing as 5 movies are planned out teh gate they seem to have some confidence in the product.

THANK YOU BASED TOMINO

>that the people who go to war are irresponsible, incompetent, greedy idiots
I think you can expand that to people in general are irresponsible, incompetent, greedy idiots who believe things for bad reasons. Though that doesn't necessarily make them bad people, we all really need to take a step back and reevaluate ourselves and ideas in the real world.

user don't sink to his level, you know exactly what he's actually complaining about. He doesn't care whether or not G-Reco is consistent in how silly it is, he's annoyed that G-Reco isn't like the rest of Gundam where it's all hot blooded /m/ action and instead is a bunch of man children who grew up with peace and is now playing war and dangerously getting close to starting real war despite all of them still being said man children unlike the earlier eras. Even though everyone knows why the Aussies lost to the Emus that doesn't make it any less funny ya know? But in this case that user didn't find G-Reco funny and I'll be honest I didn't find it that funny either, I just liked the animation.

Okay okay that user probably didn't think that far, but that's how he probably instinctively feels about it but lacks the vocabulary or self understanding to express it.

Soldiers of Sorrow was 2 hours 15
Encounters in space is 2 hours 20

An hour and 55 minutes is close enough to 2 hours that you can round it.
2 hours for a movie is already above average, and 5 of them in a row for a single franchise is ridiculous, and even if they do, that's still just managing to pull even with a TV series that had half the number of episodes that it needed.
I love that G Reco is getting movies, and 5 is incredible, but I have big doubts that these movies can fix the show's problems when the problem is a severe lack of space to tell the story.

Is there anyone who can top Tomino when it comes to making delicious browns? The guy just keeps getting better at it with age.
>mfw MG 200 is the G-Self
>mfw it comes with both Raraiya and Belri pilots

Wow, IBO came down like a ton of bricks.

>this is what idiots believe

Tomino sucks at pacing no matter how many episodes you give him. With 50 he just drags things on endlessly.

This, there's a reason the Gundam trilogy movie is far more nostalgic and famous with most of Asia than say the original 0079 TV series. I mean look at all the crap that got removed? The salt episode? Or those retarded crab designs?

No Gundam show needs more than 3 cours to tell a story in the most competent way possible.

MSV: The Return of Johnny Ridden deserves more than 3 cours.

At the filler in 0079 had some style. In Dunbine, Zeta, L-Gaim etc he'd just clash the same old mechs in irrelevant battles.

>had some style
I'll give you that, but it was still overall better off without. You're right about the rest too, god damn that shit was bad.

Oh fuck, G-Rect but with longer runtime?
Nice.

>Dunbine

I had to drop this one cour before the end because Tomino was turning it into an endless loop of the samish battle with no style and no stakes. A shame since the first third of the show was pretty damn nice.

Nuh-uh, that was just just oxygen deprivation a-and she only recovered cuzza the air in the colony ahveing just the right amount of oxygen to suit her normal self!!11!
That was sardonicism, just to be clear.

>The salt episode
Enough with this meme. That episode's primarily about Sayla, and salt was just a flimsy explanation of why they were traveling around in that area. Hell, most of that episode made it into the movies.

Recap?

Retard. The very graph you posted shews that Greco lasted three months less than Valvrave and Exodus.

>5
that's like, more than 4

Everboy except Chum dies
Did you at least get to the Soviets and Americans?

No. I dropped it after a battle at the top of a moutain. That was a couple of years ago.

Probably same with some reediting. Most of the show looked good enough to keep for movies anyway.

That manga is top tier, at the moment it could probably all be told in 2 cours given how Sunrise are particularly fond of cutting stuff out of adaptations. Next volume fucking when?

If only Sunrise would dump AUs and look at some of their better manga series for adaptation.

>Day after Tomorrow NEVER EVER
I need more Kai in my life.

Was that still in Byston Well?

>2 hours for a movie is already above average
Not really for Tomino gundam, are longer, both turn As are longer and while not a compilation CCA is also 2 hours. New Translations is under but they also had a load of new footage and Zeta's filler is easy to cut.

At least some of them being 2 hours+ isn't exactly a wild theory, so if one is shorter then the chance of another picking up the slack is pretty likely. Plus you are again assuming that the credits can't be short or any scene can be redone.

They left BW a while ago already.

>I can't read a graph

>Most of the show looked good enough to keep for movies anyway.
It is amazing how good Greco looked for a tv show.

This episode was directed by Araki and featured much more effects than the previous ones. The last 8 episodes are animation porn. Almost every episode has at least one jaw dropping sequence.

>given how Sunrise are particularly fond of cutting stuff out of adaptations.
But that's the thing, Johnny Ridden deserves zero cutting. Most if not all of the manga is pretty relevant especially the dialogue. When has any adaptation surpassed Ark Performance shit in making the side characters of UC look competent while staying in character.

>Mobile suit is called the Wuxia
>Damn thing can't even cultivate qi

Literally a scam.

plus the eyecatches

So good.

Studio 1 truly is amazing. I hope that, with experience and proper guidance, Studio 3 can also mature into something great.

>Greco: 9
>Valvrave: 12
Speak for yourself.

>he still keeps posting this meme image he made himself as if it means anything
Just look at the average sales and how much money each made from gunpla

>Just look at the average sales
They both average 9k IBO even less if you count S2 sales which dropped by 40%
>and how much money each made from gunpla
Your ass

>Just look at the average sales
But that ignores factors like IBO having a bonus in the first edition creating a larger attach rate which effects the first few volumes.

> how much money each made from gunpla
That is usually down to how good the gunpla is not the show, and Greco's gunpla was poor quality. Despite that they came out and said it did well, we never get proper numbers even from derringer.

Considering the animation quality was literally the only good thing about the trainwreck clusterfuck of shit that was GWreck, meh.

Hopefully they'll actually do a completely different story arc with the movies instead of trying to rehash the fucking stupid main storyline.

Stick to A/Z faggot

A/Z was shit too, cocksucker. Doesn't mean gshitco was any less shit.

...

>and Greco's gunpla was poor quality.
I'm amazed Tominofags haven't chewed out your ass by now. Is it cause they are all asleep? I remember back in those days every G-Reco thread whenever someone complained about how the mobile suits looked bad they got swamped.

Tomino worked Studio 1 to the bone

Poor quality gunpla doesn't mean bad design, in fact a few suits did well like the Grimoire despite that.

...

one more

It's a Tomino Gundam. He has creative freedom and clout as long as anything he produces is not a huge failure.

why are you being daft?

rip in piece

>implying
Her survival will be made clearer in the movies

Literally everyone recognizes that Bandai's G-Reco kits were subpar, especially compared to their HGUC/Origin contemporaries. Poor articulation, along with things like the G-Self being overly reliant on stickers. Fuck, I like the things, but Bandai obviously wasn't trying their best with them.

I always wonder why Tomino has a hardon for putting loser girls in giant ass death trap machines. I mean if you think about it even Lalah was in a fat ass when she got killed, and Haman's mobile suit was definitely thicc though she died in ZZ so I guess that doesn't count. But still, I know it's a trope at this point but why?

>loser girls
I wonder which cuntala is behind this post
