why did people get so excited over this?
They just stand there at opposite ends of the field and shout at eachother, play tennis with their abilities, then theres about 4 seconds of ok animation and then it just ends, no kind of impact and leaves you totally blue balled
Why did people get so excited over this?
I'm glad I'm able to feel intense emotions unlike you, OP. Life must be pretty boring in your shoes.
>They just stand there at opposite ends of the field and shout at eachother
They were kinda up close for that
A fight is made great by the weight of their emotions. Stick to One Punch Man or other shows that do fights with great animation.
>muh emotions
it was literally muh mommy
Watching a nigga break his each one of his fingers in fight just to stand a chance. Afterwards doing his best to hold back not to splatter the icybro all over the place. And then break them again so to reach the icyhot to not hold back. Is damn entertaining.
Parents are important for a healthy human being, user.
Are you talking about DBZ?
Not sure what happened here after the anime got to this fight. Back when the arc was ongoing in the manga, people were mocking the shit out of his background and motivations. Shit, I still enjoy the series and all, but that was always a good laugh.
He's way better when he isn't getting too much attention and we aren't forced to watch him brood.
It's a show for kids what did you expect?
Sounds to me like you went into this fight already thinking it was trash before it even started.
>Back when the arc was ongoing in the manga, people were mocking the shit out of his background and motivations
No?
But that's not DBZ
It's an awful adaptation overall. Probably the worst of the year.
C'mon man, if you can't see character development in something as simple as a shonen series, then what show gets your attention?
What? We were acting like a bunch of monkeys for how HYPE it was.
I remember that people were freaking out because they thought Todoroki's mother had committed suicide or Endeavour had bumped her off after the boiling water incident, then they found out that she was perfectly fine and still married to Endeavour with multiple children which completely destroyed his tragic backstory/motivation for winning from the tournament arc and caused everyone to mock the shit out of Todo for being a massive drama queen. Also it didn't help that he completely discarded his conviction by using the flame side in the battle against Deku.
I have no clue. Retards were saying it was one of the best anime "fights" of all time, when it was just a tug of war between one faggot who never stops crying and a prince Zuko rip off.
They weren't trying to actually kill each other and they had no motivation to win the fights other than to get (You)s from potential investors, not like their lives or life goals were completely on the line. I think it was well done for what it was.
I'm not one to talk but I do think what he lived through his childhood justifies his attitude.
He got rejected from the social life a normal kid should have, he lived in a very toxic household and his father did not even love him for one.
I mean sure him not using his fire powers because of it might be kind of far fetched, but with a little empathy one can understand.
Many people do stupid shit so they can prove something to someone, in this case, rejecting his father.
wow your life must be really exciting.
>ITT: I can't enjoy shonen anime
I couldn't care less
Name one better fight scene in all of shonen
you definitely can
>then they found out that she was perfectly fine and still married to Endeavour with multiple children which completely destroyed his tragic backstory/motivation for winning from the tournament arc and caused everyone to mock the shit out of Todo for being a massive drama queen.
So speedreders are history revisionists I see
hypebabbies.
give two characters a weak reason to clash with ok music and ok animation and the hypebabbies will claim nothing happened.
do the same but with top-notch music + animation and the hypebabbies will go insane.
Because it's the deepest, most intense thing that the 12-year-olds here have seen, of course they go nuts over it. Why the hell did you bother watching it when it's common knowledge that it's just a very generic shounen?
>I remember that people were freaking out because they thought Todoroki's mother had committed suicide or Endeavour had bumped her off after the boiling water incident
In the same fucking chapter the fight happens it was revealed that she was sent to a mental institution
> then they found out that she was perfectly fine and still married to Endeavour with multiple children which completely destroyed his tragic backstory/motivation for winning from the tournament arc and caused everyone to mock the shit out of Todo for being a massive drama queen.
What the fuck are you even talking about?
>Also it didn't help that he completely discarded his conviction by using the flame side in the battle against Deku.
Him using his flame was a sign of him removing the shackles given by his father (im the next chapter he pretty much said he forgot about him entirely because he was focused on the match)
...
I love how BNHAfags have no arguments to defend their show with other than muh emotions and shitposting.
You have to make an argument in order for people to give you a proper response. The fanbase seems to be smart of enough to know that Sup Forums will go full contrarian whenever something that was once liked becomes popular so what's the point of defending something when you've already made up your mind that you're not going to like it? You're not looking to make a point just act out.
What's the difference between Boku no Hero Academia and My Hero Academia?
They're speed reading life so it makes sense.
I can only guess it's age demographics at play, people wanting to relive their Naruto/Bleach loving days, and a high proportion of normalfags who don't watch much anime. I say this with no contempt, people should be allowed to enjoy things. I even enjoy it, but only on a serviceable level. I got no emotional investment out of seeing someone I didn't care about before suddenly be dumped with a sob story, but I suppose for some people I guess the fact that something bad happened to someone is enough to grab them.
One is english translated.
...
The hero killer fight was a lot better desu
have you watched the show? its to make you obidient little worker for the system that will through it throw you off the balcany when you are not needed anymore and you have lost your invidual throughs and freedoms
BNHA is only good in manga form.
Because of the lack of a good shonen these days. Now we get this stereotypical MUH HEROES OF JUSTICE turd and the average anime watcher like Sup Forums likes to fantasize about having superpowers like 10 year olds
the manga is boring as shit
I don't get it either.
Stuff like the Ochako and Mei fights were leagues better despite not receiving anywhere near as much hype.
Another fight that seems to be severely overhyped is that one utterly retarded mind control fight.
No matter how people make excuses or try to argue, the fact of the matter is MHA is designed for the manga medium where time doesn't flow according to reality. Talking is a free action, and anything between panels can be left to imagination. The mangaka Hori obviously lacks the ability to make his manga flow with real time otherwise he wouldn't make his characters mouth off big speeches every chance they get.
This makes for a very poor adaptation. The reason series like Big 3 took off with the anime was because each studio bothered to do filler fighting choreograph and such where there was none in the manga, but that isn't always possible.
