Imho aliens were far better than aliens because you got to know more of the xenomorph and also how amazingly the interplay, At no point do the women character feels fetched in that she's just there. She has merit for being there, she is useful there, and is a key integral in the entire thing that makes sense. It's part of why i love about the ripley character, she is strong not because someone want her to be, or want her to look like it, but because she is, but also frail and learning and coping with a terrible situation in a realistic fashion. In all the situations including planning of the military operations she makes perfect sense, is never told to shut up and is constantly making good arguments is why.

That’s what the alpha female does. She mates, births the next generation, and then makes DAMN sure they survive long enough to give her grandkids. In Ripley’s case, the relationship is symbolic. She has a daughter who’s long dead thanks to the time weirdness of space travel, but she adopts Newt as a replacement.
I loved Aliens as a kid because there was a Queen alien and a lot of xenomorphs so it was more visually shocking. I watched the entire saga as an adult years later and Alien 2 and 3 are awful for me now.
First, Aliens loses the essence of the first movie which is an unknown creature that nobody knows how operates, which make it scarier.
Also here's no main character, Ripley earns her position through the movie. You don't realize she's the lead actress and all characters around her have great chances to sympathize with the audience.
Secondly, Aliens could've been a decent action movie, since they lost the suprise horror factor, but it flopped (to me). Now Ripley is the uncontested lead character and the other female character is a dyke that for some reason is the strongest in the party and masculine as fuck. It's quite aparent that there was less effort to make good characters there and most of them were fillings but it had good moments still. Also xenomorphs go from very precise hunters that calculate moves and subtefuges to a mob of retards that charge en masse to gatling guns.
Everything was better then. Millennials end up either not understanding it, or being offended by it.

Well the passion of the first movie of the original dare i think is very well replaced with a war organism that literally it takes whatever encounters it as baseline, and extracts from it the most predatorial things. So it's like you could have a bunch of giants come to "eat an egg" AND you'd have a shitton of giant aliens. Because that's what it predates on now. The aliens made the original horror more scary imho.But after that it was wreck, like where can you take it and you got aliens 3 and 4 which is like. Even in the end of the last movie where the alien is vent sucked you might ponder that it's asking WHYYY Why you do this?
Better to leave a high note and invent something new. But that's thing about hollywood. and cinema. Someone invented something original then corporate steps in and wants money off of it. And when i realized that he was sentenced to this penal colony for getting high on his own supply and giving an improper dosage of medicine, i knew it was going down hill. How it became religious at the end, as if the alien biowar organism (nostromo accidentally fucked with an experimental biowarfare installation. The aliens are equivalent of a nuke. You drop it down. sit back and it expires when it runs out of victims. making maxim predator of whatever it targets. It becomes the perfect hunter killer) cares about anything that is right or wrong or up and down or left and right. Was heavily saught and strived against the very notion of everything about it.
A thing i admired about that original prospect of being aliens and also waging war. We think of that we have big fleet amarda raining down fire from the sky. The alien thing. Bioweapon. You drop down bioweapon you don't have to worry about infrastructure. It incubates in the apex predator of the planet with a little bit of it's own and it creates a son of a bitch to wipe you out. The ones that fight are killed, the ones that fight less are incubated to breed more warriors. Perfect survivablilty of the organism, but also heinous evil. It destroys everything, then limited by a certain lifespan when they run out of food source. They fall over. The people who made them then walk in. Have had to do nothing.
