But things were already stalemated: the rebels are desperately weak in manpower and daddy Russia isn't interested in heating up the conflict or pushing lines any further at this point in time. Effect: more security for Ukies in the East. Meanwhile Ukraine as a whole is still dysfunctional and weak, but at least the East is a bit more solid than it used to be.
2. Moron Ukrainians will let them be captured in a matter of weeks. Samples will reach Russia. Whether there's anything of value to learn in a Jav, I do not know. Russia has a rep as being behind in thermal imaging, but I don't know if that's true now that they bought high-end French IR optics for their armor. Even if there are new technologies in the Jav seeker, they may not be immediately reproducible by Russia due to weakness in the area of materials science. Then again, there could be something new and great about the Jav seeker that they can reproduce or improve upon.
Conclusion: Russia will know the workings of the Jav soon, and will definitely be able to improve their countermeasures. Whether or not they can gain something in the realm of IR imaging, depends on a bunch of shit I I don't know about
