That does not exist here.

I think the one situation where a libertarian could support tariffs would be if we were headed for a hyperinflation and we wanted to make our economy very insular ahead of time, because it sure as hell is gonna be insular after the crash. Basically you might be able to soften an inevitable crash. That's the only reason I can see trade restrictions.

Remember when our response to almost everything was "free market will fix it?"

What a difference a year makes.

(((Libertarianism))) is a great meme, but the time for arguments has passed. It's time for an iron fist of protectionism and trade war. The fire is rising and it wont be put out by a bunch of fedora tipping losers.

Good riddance. An-cap is almost as bad as communism when it comes to letting ideological conviction override facts and reason.

Spoken like a true Eurocuck. After 242 years your country has become the same cadaver that your ancestors were once fleeing from. Just another example how democracy will always lead to idiocracy and socialism. Enjoy falling into irrelevance.

Almost every single thing you purchase in America, at lest 99.9% is made in a foreign country. Would our "ancestors" have agreed with this idea? If you even went back to even the 1970's and said " in only a short time, everything you purchase will be made in China and there will be no American made alternative" how would they react to this?

It's not about socialism, it's about drawing a line in the sand and protecting our country, it's people, and it's prosperity. Should have been done a long time ago before the fucking boomers got us into this mess.

Capitalism isn't why America was successful and Socialism isn't why Europe is failing now. It's all about race, culture, identity, a common purpose and social cohesion. Economic ideology only plays a small part.

Ron Paul would have saved America. Rand Paul had a chance, No one else can help you.

It's because American workers refuse to compete with countries where it's legal to make 11 year old kids work 17-hour days for pennies with no benefits or days off.

Nor should they, granted, but that's where all their jobs have gone.

yea i remember when i used to say that, before i got wise to the jews

>(((ancap)))
>((("free" market left-libertarianism)))

Most of us (not sure about anymore since the_donald influx) were natsocs, and support near-autarky so I don't know why'd you be surprised we support protectionism.

I think Trump is a kike pawn who has done nothing much of significance and caters to Israel but this is actually a good move.

This.

So whats your solution?

I don't support the tariffs.

Tariffs would have worked 40 years ago when there was still a steel industry in the USA, but not now.

Ron Paul is a reasonable man in a cartoony Era he just can't get a base

Trade sanctions, but not for the reason Trump did it. To force them to modernize their labor code.

Even the most hardcore AnCaps I've met drew the line at child labor.

well yeah user but those were different problems, a hammer doesn't do the job of all tools. at this point we're expecting a crash that's when regulations help business survive if we keep out guys product moving over others

Does the reason matter if the means bring the desired result? Im confused if your greivance is emotional, but intrigued by your stance.

we're nationalists, not anarchists, murrica uber alles

Selective tariffs are what helped make us great. There's litterally no reason to let foreign industry dismantle all of ours. Our industry is devoured as soon as it falls behind the pace of subsidized foreign production. Making America Great Again means bringing back manufacturing jobs.
When will Sup Forums take the Traditionalist-pill?
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_System_(economic_plan)

They won't bring the desired result. Absolute best-case scenario, China raises the prices of their dumped steel (I won't hold my breath, personally). They'll still have labor standards just slightly above slavery-tier, and even if the steel problem is fixed, that still leaves electronics, plastic crap, and other shit I can't quite name off the top of my head.

American manufacturing is probably never coming back, but maybe we can at least save what little shred there is left.

A company can only compete in 3 major fields. 1.Price of natural resources, 2.Taxes given away to the government and 3.Costs of Work. Price of natural resources are more or less similar all over the world. You don't want to work for the same money as Chinese people do and your government will not lower the taxes so how are you supposed to be competitive? There are no other options than that, no tariffs will bring America prosperity, its illogical and it has been tried already countless times.

You are delusional, Saudi Arabia has racial integrity, culture, identity, common purpose and social cohesion yet is not a total shithole only because it has oil. Economy is everything, if people don't have a good conditions to work and grow, they will just leave for a different place. This is rational thinking.

Ron Paul and Lolbertarianism was only ever supported as a 3rd option, if you were actually around you would remember that you had tons of retards claiming to be lolbertarians with beliefs that had nothing to do with it or were in fact opposed to one another.

YOU SAID TRUMP DID SOMETHING WRONG REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I don't but I'm an accelerationist at this point. Stagnating in the glorified rot of modern civilization is depressing and reforming the state at this stage is wishful thinking. We're long overdue for a xanax tier crash in the business cycle anyway. Just enjoy the enjoy.

Sup Forums isn't lolbertarian anymore, it's nationalist

fuck off lolbert

...

XDDDD YOU BUTED LOL IN DE NAM :DDDDDDDDD

Gotta hope for WW3.

The American system was made great through tariffs, a national bank and infrastructure development. This is quite literally the essence of "make America great again".

I WONT BE ABLE TO AFFORD MY BUGMAN HOBBIES AND BULLSHIT COMSUMER NOVELTIES AT THE EXPENSE OF THE AMERICAN WORKING CLASS RRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

But how do we get other countries to stop tariffing us? He would want balance.

Reminder that there is a positive correlation between increasing trade deficits and GDP.

>it's another episode of ancaps believing they are the real right-wing

Free market and free trade are wildly different concepts brother.

austrian economics debunked (redpill overdose)
TRIGGER WARNING: FACTS AHEAD!!

tl;dr
>gold standard is unstable and not a viable currency, susceptible to fraud and dependent upon mining
>they are openly anti-scientific, rely on "praxeology", they are philosopher at best
>dumb ideology funded by koch brothers think tanks (CATO) to convince ignorant armchair economists
>every prediction they had is proven wrong
>they business cycle theory is wrong
>they don't use scientific method, no maths, no statistics, nothing, just speculation
>only used as political rhetoric by ron paul to rile up his gadsen-flag hillbilly voterbase
>all of peter schiff's predictions are wrong, he has been preaching doomsday for decades
>mainstream economics agrees with less than half of their policy
>literally no respects austrian economists today, abandoned as early as 1950's
>only good thing to come out of it was Hayek, who wasn't even Austrian since he rejects praxeology. He contributed to price theory, and added to the socialist calculation problem. Also his philosophy is superior and way more nuanced compared to mises/rothbard.

Lol wants free market inside the market user. Not outside. And especially not the somethings allowed from outside the market while other things are kept inside system we have.

top global econ journals, ZERO positive austrian results, all negative! outdated! wrong! pseudoscience!

Unironically this.

>>Sup Forums unironically supporting tariffs
maybe they got lucky like Carl Icahn,
Trump confidant, Carl Icahn, dumped millions in steel-related stock last week
Carl Icahn has impeccable timing.

Billionaire investor and longtime Trump confidant Carl Icahn dumped $31.3 million of stock in a company heavily dependent on steel last week, just days before Trump announced plans to impose steep tariffs on steel imports.

In a little-noticed SEC filing submitted on February 22, 2018, sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/61986/000081376218000018/ntwsch13da04022218.htm

Icahn disclosed that he systematically sold off nearly 1 million shares of Manitowoc Company Inc. Manitowoc is a “is a leading global manufacturer of cranes and lifting solutions” and, therefore, heavily dependent on steel to make its products.

The filing came just seven days before a White House event where Trump announced his intention to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel imports.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross publicly released a report on February 16 calling for a 24 percent tariff. But, as the chart in the SEC filing indicates, Icahn started selling his Manitowoc stock on February 12, prior to the public release of that report. Moreover, the sharp drop in steel-related stocks did not occur until Trump announced he would accept the Commerce Department’s recommendations.
kek, unironically

>shooping the cartoon
>cropping out Zyklon Ben's signature
Post the original, faggot.

How can a libertarian society exist in a nation where no one has anything in common with each other? At best, we are divided in half. The reality is much worse.

its written by actual economists you retard

YEAH GUISE FLOODING IN CHEAP CHINESE GOODS HAS REALLY BEEN GREAT FOR THE USA CUZ RON PAUL WOULD ALLOW IT

TRUMP HAS TALKED ABOUT TARIFFS FOR MORE THAN A DECADE
NECK YOURSELF

I'm ancap/monarchist and I really don't care.

Libertarians need to focus on more important things. Like ending the civil Rights act and public school.

and the global economic crash was done by ACTUAL bankers wow i must listen to exactly what they say theyre ACTUAL bankers after all

>invoke trade tariffs
>more domestic production
>an isolationist move
>can be translated as nationalist
>left
You must be short some brain cells, it’s a move back towards when USA was isolationist, self-supporting, and anti-globalist

you realize that you are no better than bernie supporters right? good luck in your lolsperg echo chamber you retarded niggerfaggot, your shitty ideology will never get anyone elected, and if it does, GDP will halve in a year lmao

This stuff still gets me in the feels. Time to get sad and look through my Paul campaign sticker collection.

Boom
Tariffs are now a libertarian concept

Poland always rational

The tariffs will harm the exportation of American agricultural goods, like soy-beans. Now, who will consume our poison?

this is what I've been saying all along
NATIONAL SOCIALISM IS STILL SOCIALISM

>muh gdp

kys, kike

Meh, trump cant beat the international jew at their game of "fuck everybody we love china, let china inherit the earth" when it comes to international trade meetings, so he does the best for us available to him. Shits fucked when you think of how much china is expanding globally in a very greedy fuck you manner and america is backed against a wall where protectionism is your best option but pure protectionism becomes increasingly hard when standards of living keep going up.

Heres to hoping china gets a solid beating for what they deserve with their economic predator attitudes or we say fuck it all and look into other planets/space for future resource expansion/colonization and let china turn the earth into a shithole for being gigajews.

not so much on Twitter, his favorite magaphone.

t.retard

the goal is to raise the median household income and provide more high paying jobs for Americans so we aren't sucking down social security and living off of UBI like you eurocucks propose.

You're simply cucked by the textbook jew.

Sup Forums supports protectionism and isolationism, that's why Trump was supported since day 1 of his campaign

no he's right keynesians are traitors even though the austrians are wrong

and socialism always and ever is shit.

Wrong
National Socialism relies on the economic concept of Dirigisme, it isn't communism by any stretch

It's mild coercion from the government for large companies to only make decisions that benefit the national interest. It still relies on the free market, independent, private companies, and gainful employment of the population in productive endeavors

who gave china the tech advantage since the nixon admin.?
USA
S
A

i'm trying to find an argument in there or any ACTUAL real evidence alas im a lolbertarian brainlet that must be why, now lets all post fashy maymays and say why big government has to give big handouts to big corporations, and food stamps to niggers that they either sell and profit or buy crack with stealing and ripping off both the government, corporations, and hardworking peaceful liberty loving taxpaying citizens, the people

>but constructivism is good when you do it right
except it's never done right, and can't ever be, because that's not how Humans work
I reckon it is a kickass system for hive insects, though

protectionism is badeconomics
>hurr durr grog high cave drop out, wat comparative advantage? grog no like gaynes!11

I support fair trading policies. Until we stop trade deficits I back trade policy thats pro american.

Libertardians are okay living in a nigger shithole wand get exploited by foreigners as long as taxes are low.

>implying Sup Forums has any hard-held political opinions

They follow charismatic leaders and memes. They don't know shit about political ideologies.

>civil forfeiture
>literal enslavement of people in farms run by the state (Slavs, for example)
>rationed food
you're not fooling anyone, socialist

>who remember who he really is
He's my neighbor, and he couldn't be happier.

you are the reason Destiny exists

>its OK when low IQ trailer trash is on welfare and causes crime!

He tried to warn us
>Wtf with the sudden captchas every time now?

...

This a thread about Sup Forums's attitude toward tariffs across time. Not sure what you have to gain here by spamming up this thread as well. Did an Austrian economist touch you when you were little, aquafresh?

>remove federal reserve
>replace with gold standard
>autistic unstable currency
>unemployment doubles
>cut taxes 50%
>healthcare police firefighters all gone
>even basic infrastructure maintenence cannot ebe afforded
>poverty homelessness tenfold
>chaos everywhere, '92 riots but x20
>a decade later
>United States of Africa
>civil war

>remember when we where right-libertaran economically illiterate retards? now we are white supremacist economically AND genetically illiterate retards!

KEK he's just defending what he's been told all his life by commies and the establishment, but he went to school to get told it so thats more valid!

If praxeology (I.e. The study of human conduct) is pseudoscience, than so is all (((social science.)))

just go to leftypol already please

You can't spell nationalism without tariffs. You can't make a national omelette without breaking a few market freedom eggs. One ton of cheese in hand is better than two flown in on a plane.

its cause obamaleaf is hiding under a netherlands proxy now. Every single one of these fucking steel tariff threads has an angry toothpaste nigger spamming.
