Baki Dou 174 translation

holy god, this chapter does not translate into english at all
I mean, it sucks even in Japanese, but there are soooo many instances of the same word meaning different things (and vice versa!) in this specific chapter
half of the words in the Japanese mean nothing in Japanese, and it's not at all clear what the purpose or direction of the first half of the chapter is, in either language, so, yeah

so - if this chapter seems incomprehensible, that's because some of the concepts don't appear to make sense in any sort of human english and, as such, I did not make very much of an effort to clarify the incomprehensible bits

fuck it let's just get this over with and wait for monday

Chapter 174: Strength of Will

...

...

oh yeah, I forgot to add:
>paper raws again

>Kureha: They aren't bladed weapons.
>K: So, why are we able...
>K: To cut things with our bare hands and feet?
>K: You already know why.
>Baki: Control of the edge.

>K: Making points out of the wrist down.
>K: Making points out of the ankle down.
>K: That's our control of the edge.
>K: In fighting sports like Muay Thai and boxing...

>K: Those guys've got A-class strength, even if they are just sports fighters.
>K: They're dangerous...
>K: To bare-handed martial artists.
>K: But...
>B: But...

>K: If you try to justify the superiority of bare-handed fighting...
>K: Inevitably, you come to versatility.
>K: Punches with gloves can only hammer and poke.
>K: The tops and bottoms of feet can only be used for kicks.

>K: Whereas, bare-handed, there's lots of ways to attack.

>K: I've heard...
>K: About your match.
>K: You will fight bare-handed...
>K: Against the sword-wielding Miyamoto Musashi.
>K: ...So. What you have is visible.
>K: But...

>K: Let me give an example. If you were to go on a trip...
>K: You would pass through gate security at the airport.
>K: The detectors would pick up nothing.
>K: Do you understand?
>K: Just how terrifying a prospect this is?

>K: Sharp weapons and dull weapons; knives, axes, swords, spears, lashes - all the way up to explosives.
>K: Your body, holding all of these things,
>K: Would be cleared without issue by the detectors.

>K: Then, if you were so interested,
>K: A flight hijack would be carried out.
>K: Baki-san.
>K: Right now,
>K: You are that sort of being.

>Tokugawa: So, Musashi.
>T: What did you think...
>T: Of Hanayama Kaoru...?

>Musashi: He was uncuttable.
>T: Uncuttable?

>M: Humans,
>M: Trees,
>M: Stones,
>M: Steel -
>M: That there was nothing which I could not cut...
>M: Was a point of conceit for me.

>T: Hmm.
>T: There was nothing which you couldn't cut.
>M: I did cut him, but...
>M: I did so without getting to cut him down.

>M: His palace of muscle...
>M: Outdoes even armour.
>M: ...Though...
>M: I can cut through muscle...

>M: Intent.
>M: Thought.
>M: Feeling.
>M: Such things are metaphysical durability.
>M: The toughness of his spirit knocked back my blade.

>M: Have I said enough...?
>T: Musashi.
>T: Baki's even stronger than Hanayama.

End chapter; we're done for the week, move on

Doppo best baki

Bless my dude, I at least one we don' suffer alone

Reminder that only rural and suburban retards dislike Baki Dou. City people all love Musashi.

Bullshit. Musashi was ready to cut Kaoru's head off or slice through his spine before Baki interfered.

Unless you are telling me Kaoru's body was tougher than Pickle's body.

>Kaoru's body was tougher than Pickle's body
Sure seemed like it.
