Its because we hold all the cards. The world needs us to keep the (((global))) economy moving.

When is Trump going to nuke NorK already? 2020?

There was a 400 post thread right after he tweeted

trump is fucking things up. US unemployment is lowest it has ever been. so what is the purpose of stopping trade? Free trade benefits the US. Give a dollar to China, and they will have to use it. They either invest the dollar in the US stock or bond market, or have to buy a US product.

Trump is really a madman and this is coming from a supporter.

... its really been fun watching him yada yada yada

This should have happened a long time ago. Trump also needs hit any company that uses cheap labor. Apple and many others need to get fucked. Americans don't need a bunch of cheap plastic junk. They need jobs. This will kill the globalists.

US manufactured cars don’t sell in Europe because they are terrible. The standard of workmanship and components in the US is not good enough to justify export.

Because parttime jobs that pay shit isn't cutting it anymore. We have tried it for decades, and its killing the middle class.

>The standard of workmanship and components

Clearly you're not familiar with French and Italian automobiles.

What tarifs and barriers is he talking about? No banter I'm genuinely curious. Ford is doing really good here

How does europe "make it impossible" for us to sell our cars their?

Renault and PSA have dispersed manufacturing. Fiat is not even fiat any more. The standard of small Fiat cars manufactured in Poland and their joint venture commercials are absolutely fine.

US made cars have a quality problem. They are not built very well and the materials are not very good. If you buy a VW Group car it is a better quality product than anything made in the US for a similar price.

Toyota and Honda have numerous massive factories here they aren't importing much these days.

Importing cars from the US into the EU attracts a 10% tariff. Importing cars into the US from the EU attracts a 2.5% tariff.

My current 1999 Audi A4 gives me all sorts of serious issues all the time. For starters, the ignition system never fucking works properly despite having changed all the spark plug leads, ignition coils, all sorts of sensors, etc.
It always has power gaps around 2500-3000rpm and if the engine isn't completely hot it jerks.

I've owned a 1995 low range Fiat Brava with 120,000 miles on the clock and drove it for another 60,000 miles on it without a single issue and the engine was as smooth as new. It hardly even used any oil, I never topped it up between oil changes.
The "italian cars are unreliable" thing is a fucking meme.

Also, I know lots of people who drive old Peugeots whereas almost no one drives old German cars. Now I know why.

are you going to provide proof or what?

>120,000 miles on the clock and drove it for another 60,000 miles
>miles
>Pasta Nigger Flag
larp.

Traifs

But then you'd be buying a German car, so US cars win by default

Fix it again, Tony, heheh, I tell you what!

This is amazing, US can end the EU in months with a trade war, keep it up Trump, I don't even mind if it hurts us, we'll be out eventually and the rest of the EU nations will soon follow.

>leaf education

The bizarre thing about Fiat is that their engine reliability is very good. You get what you pay for with the rest of the car but their engines are very durable. Audi engines meanwhile are highly prone to failure.

This
A Toyota truck is more American than a fucking Silverado nowadays

>US manufactured cars don’t sell in Europe because they are terrible.

Objectively false. Fords are hugely popular here, and they're manufactured in the US, assembled in Europe.

It's far from impossible. There is a 10% tariff I think. The main reason US cars are not bought in any large numbers in Europe is because German and Japanese cars are a better option, simple. Something many Americans seem to agree with, judging by the amount of those cars I see driving there too.

most jap cars in US are made in US

Do you have a source? I'm genuinely interested and was looking this up but I couldn't find any numbers on current tariffs in the EU.

only american car i would buy is a FORD

Not true, Ford cars are manufactures here.

t. I worked in Ford plant in Valencia (Spain)

Welp, guess we're gonna fuck each other over for a while

Never mind, found it

TRADE WAR NOW

Do you have one? Or?

tariffs on cars are smarter than tariffs on steel and alu which will make american products more expensive

Reminder...

American literally doesn’t need anyone else.

We are a 300 million 50 nation free trade zone with everything we need. No other nation on earth can compare.. we literally don’t need anyone else but almost everyone else needs us.

All we have to do is take our side again.

I thought german cars in the us were manufactured here?

>Fords are hugely popular here

Correct.

>they're manufactured in the US

Nope. Fiat make the Ka in Poland with a Citroen engine, the Fiesta is made everywhere with a mixture of joint venture engines. None of our normal Fords have anything to do with the US.

Ford
Fucking
Fiesta

I sometimes feel pity for you silly bongs.

I hope it evolves from a trade war to a full military intervention.

ANNEX CANADA WHEN?

Tariffs on anything raises the price of everything eventually. It's basic economics. By increasing tariffs on EU cars the cost is passed onto the consumer. The competition on price is reduced on US manufactures so they are able to increase their prices without worry. The consumer always pays the price in a trade war.

Cut global trade and the ZOG will die

>American literally doesn’t need anyone else.
True which makes you wonder why you have as open a border as we do.
You don't even need to leave the country either to experience all kinds of climates, terrains trips, holiday experiences, etc. - which btw is why I have never found it surprising that many Americans don't travel outside the country much or own a passport.

>Trump also needs hit any company that uses cheap labor
what like all those American corporations making goods using prisoners

The Ford Fiesta is like car consumer furniture in the UK. If US consumers bought cars instead of trucks then your roads would be full of Ford Fiestas too.

I never understood the pickup truck thing. I was stuck behind a man trying to park one at the supermarket and was wondering as to what the appeal is.

i know
but still tariffs on basically raw materials are extremely stupid
tariffs on final products are less stupid

You always forget the works that are created and the money that used to be spent on foreign cars now remains in the country boosting internal consumption and economy

wasn't aware japan joined the EU

If you want a car that just works buy japanese, I've heard american cars post 2008 are pretty comparable in reliability too. I'm too broke for anything that new, so for now japanese all the way for me.
Avoid german cars, and especially avoid italian.

>I never understood the pickup truck thing
muh small dick

>Tariffs on anything raises the price of everything eventually
No.

>The competition on price is reduced on US manufactures so they are able to increase their prices without worry
Nope. Domestic competition is a thing. The only point prices are liable to increase is if foreign competition forced margins down to unsustainable levels. Aside from that, foreign competition can just make things domestically to dodge the tariff--it's why the US has any car manufacturing at all these days.

so Donald is talking bollocks again
colour me unsurprised

>I never understood the pickup truck thing.
I have always seen it as a cheaper fuel / bigger car thing. If Americans paid the same as we do for petrol then their cars would be a lot smaller.
In the UAE everyone drives a white Toyota Land Cruiser of equivalent but nobody drives in the desert - fuel costs pennies too.

>If you want a car that just works buy japanese
I have a Honda Civic and it's the best car I have ever owned. I will never not buy a Japanese car after this one. Wasn't that dear either.

Well it all depends on the percentage of any tariff. But I see what you mean.

stop joking
Canada will ask to be dominated by someone in near future.
just listen to trudeu.
holy shit
He will drop that soap himself on the ground.

I'm rooting for Trump to destroy this EU fuckup.

No wonder Ireland and half the EU countries were donating millions to Clintons bogus charity before the election, bribe the cunt so the EU could continue to ripoff burgers.

toyotas are built in america

it started because people needed a versatile vehicle that can haul and tow shit, and then it became a cultural thing. gas is cheap here so no one cares that it guzzles gas.

Private prisons are bullshit, too.

1. Those aren't EU cares
2. EU cars are fucking garbage
3. The only people who buy EU cars are mid life crisis victims and literal dick suckers
4. You're a retarded faggot

We have a higher standard of living.
You guys can't afford stuff because of socialism.
You would if you could

Wait... the EU has tariffs on foreign imports, but the US can't? Is this real?

I drive a 98 civic myself. Got it for 1,000 bucks, it had a solid engine and transmission but needed regular maintenance which I did myself.

Exhaust welding
Door handles
Timing belt
Water pump
Idler pulley
both outer tie rods
both lower ball joints
one rear wheel hub
serpentine belts
new steering rack bellows
all new rear brake lines
brake pads
brake shoes
tires
clutch master cylinder
clutch slave cylinder

I think that's all. My last three cars have been the same. I get a beater japanese car cheap because of all the stupid shit wrong with them, fix them up and have a reliable car for years. Just do an engine compression test before buying. I probably pay less per mile than 99% of people, never broken down.

So do the Japanese. Every country that isn't a third world shithhole has tariffs, for obvious reasons.

>ford costs 5000 dollars more then VW in Germany
>VW cost 1000 bucks more than Ford in US
Are you retarded that you can't see the discrepancy?
You might pay a 1000 dollar premium for a foreign car, but your average retards would always think twice of paying up from 5000 dollars for a foreign car, and usually they would decide that it isn't worth it, especially with the service costs that would add up over the life of the vehicle since it costs 200 bucks the get a fucking oil change on a mini cooper.

That doesn't even begin to cover the difference in the amount of people who drive cars here vs your average shithole EU caliphate. We are a much bigger market than any one EU country could ever be.

Pickup trucks are awful. They are like driving around in an empty jacuzzi.

>never understood the pickup truck
Maybe cause you don’t have any land and need to haul shit

your average joe blow doesn't know what the fuck a compression test is these days. My old work truck cost me 500 bucks, was a 99 ram with the 360. Needed a plenum gasket as usual, owner thought it was totaled. fixed the fucker and drove it to 200k with a trailer.
Being your own mechanic is a staple to being self sufficient.

So, the US is actually a third world shithole?
Are we proud shitholers now?

I don’t get it, why is Sup Forums celebrating trade wars with Europe now?

A pickup comes in real handy a couple times a year. But never ever be the only one in your family or friends that has one because every weekend you are going to be helping someone move shit.

lets buy a FIAT right?

This is why I got rid of a pickup that I only owned for a few months. Every week someone was calling up wanting me to move their shit that weekends.

>Ford
>American
Japan is not in America you retard.

I gotta say, it's incredibly rare to see American cars in Europe except for Fords and those are manufactured in Germany/UK

Don't think I've ever seen a Chevrolet/GM car

the day of the rake is coming for you.

A lot of those truck owners do blue collar manual labor shit and a truck is a necessity for supplies and tools fellow user

>Being your own mechanic is a staple to being self sufficient.

Definitely. A big thing keeping people from working on their own cars is the learning curve to just reaching hard to reach places and breaking things loose.
I'll avoid any car that wasn't put together with any later mechanical work in mind, that's poor engineering in my opinion. It's a shame more people won't do the same and give the engineers more incentive to making cars more modular.

It felt like I was everybodys bitch my last two years of college. As soon as I got a real job, and could aford it, I traded mine in on a Mustang. A couple of people even acted pissed when I got rid of it the fuckers.

i remember chevrolet commercials few years ago but people dont wanted to buy them anyway
but now they dont sell new chevrolets in europe
telegraph.co.uk/motoring/car-manufacturers/chevrolet/10497312/GM-to-drop-Chevrolet-in-Europe.html

Who the FUCK would want an american car anywhere outside of america?

What is a tariff that effects one country only

I don't know, why would you want a mosque anywhere outside the middle east?

There is something amazing about an American muscle car that can not be recreated by any other country.

ok, but why you need basically off road car?
here in europe everyone who have company drive van

People who want to have continued trade with the USA lmao

But....

Because believe it or not, some people can afford to be self-employed

and?

i want to have sex with that woman

If you didnt have insane gas prices and tax you wouldnt be saying that.

I didn’t understand it either until we had to drive my father in laws around for a month. It’s very comfy inside and the bed in the back is convenient. Our roads are big and they’ve become more gas efficient over the years. I’ll most likely get a truck when I get a new vehicle.

The last time the us threatened a trade war with the EU was in the time of daddy bush.

The EU drew up a list of tarrifs to do the most hurt in swing states. It was enough to make daddy bush back down.

There is a rawness to them that appeals to a lot of people. They also don't handle as well as other sports cars, so you don't have drive 120 to have a thrill. I can completely understand why someone wouldn't like them, though.
