al-Qaeda was created by Osama bin Laden in 1988 to act as a network to bring mujaheddin to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets.

ISIS was created in 1999 by a Jordanian Salafist in order to wage jihad against the Jordanian government and eventually spread his rule over the entire Levant. They rose to prominence after forming the base of the insurgency against America after the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Their ideology comes directly from the Quran, hadith, sunnah, and the legal precedents set by Islamic jurisprudence. There isn't a single aspect of either al-Qaeda or ISIS which isn't rooted in, inspired by, and condoned by the doctrines of Sunni Islam.

Did they REALLY have to go through all this trouble to get us to hate Muslims? You do a very good job of making us hate you just by existing in our countries. You don't live in the West because you want to assimilate and integrate into our societies, you live in the West because you want to continue living your savage, backwards lifestyles while enjoying what the West has to offer: a first world education, a first world income, a first world standard of living, and first world healthcare.
