The internet was so much better in the 90's

Instead of having the same generic white minimalist background that appeals to SJWs for some reason

Come on!

Back before the internet was absolutely overrun by cucks!

warnerbros.com/archive/spacejam/movie/jam.htm

Sup Forums needs to have their web design look like this.

Yes, it was.

Only [real] nerds used it back then for all intents. Normies came along and fucked it up, like always.

it's time to flood the internet with amateur webpages made in notepad again

When did the internet become mostly normie?

After MySpace died

About 2005 when Zuck the Cuck made Fecebook which plagarized Myspace.

Maybe earlier.

The year of the smart phone.

The Sega Channel was FAR AHEAD of it's time.

Does anyone remember VRML??? Lightyears ahead of it's time. We don't even have that shit NOW!

Found a good resource to creating 90's sites again!

Simply beauty

Ol' good times. Apple and Google fucked all the internet design.

The only good thing about those sites is that they don't take 2 decades to make a simple update.

Now take this site for example:

ifindit.com/index1.html

Lazy fucks.

Must be Mexicans who run it.

Did Sup Forums find any more websites?

I just wonder how many 20 year old websites there still are, that haven't been updated yet, but undiscovered...

www.zombo.com yes

just don't go back to quizilla.

Remember fucking altavista before yahoo bought it and made it suck ass?

Amazing for porn video search at the time.

Ever wonder how you get all those awesome games per month? Well, it doesn't take a genius to learn how you get those ripping games through your Sega Channel adapter. You see, it all starts with the production team:
They pull together and test the great games, art, text and music you play every month.
The programming is loaded onto a CD-ROM disk.
It's then sent to the big guys at the satellite station. These guys send the signal to that big tin can in the sky, Galaxy 7.
The signal is then transmitted to local cable companies.
The cable guys bring you a cool little adapter unit that allows your Genesis to hook into the signal.
Then, wabaam, you've got games galore. Wow, the amazing wonders of technology.
P.S. Our pals in Canada, England, South America and Europe don't depend on the satellite. They use what is called a Headend Server. It reads the CD-ROM and pipes it to the home from their location. Not as high falootin', but it sure does the trick!

I remember when white nationalist web 1.0 sites triggered people in the 90s. There was even a king of the hill where Hank found out Bobby was getting redpilled.

In 20 years, Sup Forums will be abandoned, and our kids (although unlikely we will have them), will stumble upon this website, and find our old shitposts and memes, long forgotten to internet history.

I have no idea what would happen then.

This makes me want to go back. Fuck the 21st century.

You know, maybe we can come up with a style guide? Do’s and don’t of personal webpages.

A sort of modern take on the old style.

Basically all the simplicity of 90’s internet, but with better graphics allowed.

internet was better before all the yurocancer came about. Sup Forums was better before the yurocancer too. how do we solve the yurocancer problem?

i miss netscape

Back then you had to have half a brain and some ambition to make a website. Now, any retard can post all their brain farts on social media for all to see. The internet is now corporatized and has completely sold out. It is no better than TV and possibly even dumber and full of even more harmful brainwashing.

Hell no.

Mid 90's 16-bit color bitmaps needs to make a comeback.

This is why the 90's were the best.

Run your browser in 16-bit compatibility mode fool.

No way.

Fecebook, Goolag, Twatter, and other SJW sites would still exist.

these guys literally made their living by designing web sites

see how little work they had to do back then to make web sites for profit

Oh well now if thats your goal, good luck

But also fewer people knew what the fuck they were doing. Supply/Demand.

That's the dot com boom for you. People literally comited suicide because they made so much doing nothing.

I hate normies. I want my internet back. How do we make them leave?

2004 with the web 2.0 conference.

So, how is that different from today?

Zeronet is still normie free

I never heard of it, so I believe you entirely.

In the early 90s, after Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.

you now remember Tommy's Bookmarks and Sublime Directory

>Spamming your Outwar link on chat sites like man.com, poo.com, etc when they were basic chatrooms

Never see this in nostalgia, especially no mention of random one word named sites being those multicolored chat rooms, but at the time everyone was doing it.

That was still going on even in the 00s.

00’s was still pretty good overall. Google and facebook still had not fully cancerized.

Fuck under Obama it all went total shit tho.

Back in the 90s my friends dad was wasted one night and me and him were on the computer printing out all the pics of naked chicks that took 5 minutes to load. It was a good time.

Yeah, everything went to shit under Obama even if he had nothing to do with it. It was very strange.

bump

we will have to scale things back, probably into a form more resembling printed paper.

You mean plain HTML5 with no CSS or JavaScript?

...

mirc was comfy as fuck

Nowadays you need 500MB of shit written in JavaScript, it's much less responsive, has fewer features and you're talking to literal cretins.

Less text, large fonts, ebook readability formats.
Podcasts as new radio, video is unnecessary, if the core of the content is just people talking.

Fuck, it was one of the best game ever.

I completely agree with you. I LOVED using the internet back in the 90s. Normies and (((social media networks))) have ruined the internet. At the risk of falsely being identified as a nostalgiafag, the 90s were objectively better than 2018. I am 30 years old and the 90s were not a perfect time but it was still a simpler, easier, happier and more innocent time not only for me, but also for the rest of the world in general. I loved playing in arcades back during the 90s and being able to have face-to-face conservations with people back in the 90s (today, it seems like most young people look at their smartphones when you talk to them). The 90s was the last truly good decade, ESPECIALLY in terms of the internet. I remember having to endure shitty dial-up back in the 90s, but I'd still love to go back to the internet from the 90s but with the faster internet speed I have now. There was less social media normie SJW faggotry in that era, more anonymity and more creativity. There were more forums and more web-sites in general. Everything was less streamlined. Everything was bigger, more mysterious, more colourful, more customisable, more romantic and more vibrant. Fuck, I'm getting teary-eyed now.

>today, it seems like most young people look at their smartphones when you talk to them

Got news, fellow 30 year old. It's not only the younger generation that's guilty of this shit, the older ones have picked it up too. I tried speaking with my parents face to face recently and both of them had their noses stuck to a phone or tablet. They're also talking about making a facebook account, and heavily into pinterest and other similar shit.

there are a lot of porn sites that haven't changed, they pay the bills obviously.

zeronet is new

who else modded the winamp forums in 2000? just me then...

Facebook and phones.

its true... but its also true that I would have to think for hours to find anything that is better today than it was in the 80 and 90s in western Europe.

Official thread theme:
youtube.com/watch?v=gsNaR6FRuO0

the interwebz became normie as soon sites were secure enough to accept credit card payments and the first to do this were the porn sites, this was mid-1990’s. The other side of the interwebz ar the time were all the conspiracy related websites and forums that sprung up. The most popular conspiracy related sites were in relation to the freemasons, UFO’s, year 2000 and Nostradamus prophecies and the JFK assissanation. Once the year 2000 arrived the interest in conspiracy related content waned and the web became a commercial hub where you could book flights, holidays, purchase books etc, then social media arrived in the mid-2000’s.

He cucked out. Threads about it:
