Planned to watch this thing for some time now. Might watch it tonight.

>Planned
>Might
??? I wonder if you really have a right to post here.

Of course bro.

I rewatched Gunbuster again. It's still a pile of shit with no redeeming qualities, despite what people keep telling me.

Yeah well, it's not even original so.

as for me, I've been getting rewatching Hana Yori Dango because of the new encode, but I realized I never finished the show, so once I get to episode 20 or so, that'll be the end of my "rewatch"

Watched Riding Bean, MADOX-01, and Legend of Lemnear this weekend.

...

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Maddox is my favourite mecha design, Lemnear is my favourite character design and Bean is just great westaboo fun.

Currently I'm working through Dancougar, Rose of Versailles, Urusei Yatsura( at a really slow pace - working towards Beautiful Dreamer for Christmas) and re-watching Eva, which really started picking up again over the last few episodes.

...

It was lousy.

>Takeru
wat

I just started that. First episode was nice.

Watched one (1) episode of a 1991 OVA called Kekkou Kamen

Pedophile nazis are in charge of a strict school and invite a dominatrix cougar to strip and whip a female student and pin her on a big spinning swastika.
Another naked lady appears and suffocates the nazis with her thighs.

It was ok I guess.

...

Or you could, you know, continue past where you last left.

What are you guys watching to celebrate the month?

10 episodes away from finishing Macross 7, it's been a good ride so far

>Blade Runner anime comes out
>board isn't filled with threads

Is it shit?

Watched the second patlabor movie yesterday and didn't get the story, can someone explain? Also it's been a while since I saw the series but I do remember hoping that Goto and Shinobu would get together, there was that one episode where they are in a love hotel or something like that but it didn't go nowhere so that was annoying. But then in the movie she had something with the villain? I don't remember that.

It's only 15 minutes long and there's not much to discuss.
I thought it was ok

I could, but I figured I'd rewatch it because I hadn't seen it for some years now.

To relate this post back to the thread topic, yeah it's shit but a good chunk of my favourite 90s animators worked on it. Shinji Hashimoto and Shinya Ohira specifically had some really good scenes.

I just finished Kyokujitsu No Kantai (Fleet of the Rising Sun), which is the sidestory series to Konpeki no Kantai (Deep Blue Fleet). For people that like history/alternate history, this is a comic masterpiece. Its an Isekai story. In it, when Admiral Yamamoto dies, his mind is transported back to the past into his younger self before the start of WW2, and he uses his knowledge of the future to completely alter WW2. Its total nippon-wank. The Japanese humiliate the United States in the Pacific, taking Hawaii and running raids on the Panama canal, Los Angeles, Los Alamos, and Washington DC. Then they turn around and single-handedly defeat both the soviet union and Germany on their own with the help of a series completely retarded super weapons. There's no subs, but the show is still a joy to watch.

Sounds like Zipang on acid. I will check it out.

I thought it was excellent. Must suck to be a brainlet who can't into homage, pathos, and sakuga. I feel pretty bad that you had to make this post about an anime that's clearly too good for you.

My favorite part of the two series is that FDR is depicted as a hulking blonde man that walks around without the need of a wheelchair.

I'd be so happy if I could give a space elf an orgasm with my voice...

On usenet back in the day, I used to read tales of people vomiting and getting nightmares and permanent mental trauma from watching this thing. Let us know if it lives up to its reputation or if those people were just pussies.

Its a lot of fun. I recommend consulting the wikipedia episode summaries while watching. They're very useful for understanding what the fuck is going on.

...

Lest we forget the mother of all waifus

Well, haven't you seen it?

It's obviously exaggerated, it's not that bad, it's just a Horror porn. Or maybe I'm just too desensitized.

Any BD releases lately?

Dunbine got a BD 2 months ago

has anyone watched/read this Adachi series? Is it any good?

...

I'm watching Cowboy Bebop.
It's surprising to me how they made all these random filler episodes comfortable to watch.

>tfw want to reply with Blue Blazes screenshot but lost everything when hdd failed

First time watching a episodic series ever?

Cowboy Bebop is 90% filler.
If I remember correctly only episode 5 and the last two are actually story related.

don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with this
it's just that I think newer anime don't do this properly, you can tell when something is a shit filler in a lengthy series
is it because it's only 26 episodes?

Also, another Cowboy Bebop related question: Should I watch the movie after I finish the series?

First time watching an anime that isn't Fairy Tail or Naruto?

Are SoL 100% filler?

...

Yes. I didn't finish Naruto Shippuden and Fairy Tail tho.

Like the final scene with the gigile really sold me on the show. Really fucking good.

I assume they're all related to Vicious

If something is written like shit then you'll notice, otherwise it's okay.
He was the one calling them filler, personally I wouldn't describe them like that.
But yeah, SoL are generally written like shit.
The relationship between Spike, Vicious and Julia and the development in the present.

>He was the one calling them filler, personally I wouldn't describe them like that.
Yeah, the show was more about characters than the overarching plot.

is sailor moon worth finishing? I got through to episode ~ 40, whenever they discover Venus, and took a break. I was liking it was getting a little boring

Should I start watching Fist of the North Star? Is this the ultimate MANime that I missed out on?

I liked the overarching plot of R and S better, but the episode formula stays pretty much the same for the whole series. I guess it depends if you think you can stand another 160 episodes of it, other wise season 1's ending is a fine place to stop

Neat, will check it out.

It's actually really funny. No re-watch value but it's worth watching once.

>filler
>Cowboy Bebop
i'm tired of this meme

"yes"

I'm jealous of his aesthetic.

Genocyber. It's just okay.

He really looks like a white guy

Began watching Rose of Versailles yesterday, and I just finished episode 13. It's fantastic but Antoinette acts like a fucking retard and it's getting really annoying. I guess she's written for the sake of being frivolous and frustrating so, in a way, I guess her character is working? I'm beginning to really despise her stupidity though.

Antoinette did nothing wrong.

>not enjoying OG tit jiggle
whats it like being a fag?

People say filler to refer to stuff in a long running series like Naruto that is not in the manga. There's no such thing as filler for a show like Cowboy Bebop. You should also lurk without posting until you've watched a couple 100 anime.

The only girl I ever loved

...

...

i ran out of pre-2000 shows to watch at this point, might as well start watching sailor moon or rewatch Gundam shows for the 10th times

think i will start looking at 2000 shows that i haven't watch yet instead

you should get the new encode, user.

I'm actually rewatching Eva too. I always forget how good the soundtrack is.

...

pic related

Is that even a question? Why would you not watch it?

not him but from what I've heard it gets pretty repetitive

Antoinette is so fucking stupid that I stopped watching it past episode 5 or so. I want to punch her in the face so bad.

Japanese next episode preview or English? This is important to me

you ran out huh? what are your top 3 60s anime? which tatsunoko original did you enjoy the most? favorite super robot anime? which black & white anime do you think looked the best?

Bad taste.

Japanese of course.

It's like saying Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movies get repetitive. Making people's heads explode never gets old.

ANIME SPIRITIA

glad you're liking it user, it's a fun ride

I can't be bothered to get an account to download stuff, so i don't really have access to it

God bless, finally a good version of this show

>which black & white anime do you think looked the best?
Gunbuster :^)

It does actually. Stop defending shitty writing.

Yes, I know you have bad taste, no need to reiterate.
Kill yourself. Oh, wait, you're already dead, nevermind.

Buronson is far from a shitty writer. Hokuto no Ken is a kid's show.

I seriously had a crippling love for her, when I look back at it, I long for those feelings of love. Every day getting home from school, waiting for it to air on toonami. I have seriously never had feelings like that since, and remembering them now makes me sad.

In his defence I can't think of a single 60s show that has a full translation. I wish the guys doing Sabu and Ichi could commit to a regular schedule. And Tatsunoko / super robot can be rather tasteless, but that's a personal preference.

Horus is good

I've been watching the second season of Tokyo Ghoul, because I was tricked by that first episode into thinking that something cool was going to happen.

Please go away.

Tenchi was a thing only in the US, never heard of it before coming to Sup Forums and we had hundreds of anime on tv.

I meant show as in a television show, not as a shorthand for anime. Horus is a masterpiece though. Orochi and Hakujaden (1958, but whatever) are also very good. I love early Toei.

It's not like a series can be unoriginal but still good.
The homage portion was so ridiculously poorly handled I can't comprehend how anyone familiar with Ace could consider it acceptable. Gunbuster's animation was nothing special. You're probably a brainlet who loses his mind at the slightest hint of any shading.
>Gunbuster invented tits

I got a hold of some lasor discs of Outlaw Star, Macross II or 7 can't remember, Patlabor and Bannou Bunka Neko-Musume. I'm going too try Bannou Bunka Neko-Musume first while I finish SDF Macross and then I'll give the new macross a go.

Hopefully Neko-Musume is good fun.

Your opinions are shitty.

There is no sakuga in Gunbuster.

Contrarian Acefag you encounter this problem every thread. Can you wait a few years and try again? Maybe you won't be so contrarian for the sake of it when you're older.
