I liked this anime. I wish the other books would get animated but they ended on a pretty good note.
Hell the whole girls can do shit too themes where actually handled pretty tastefully. No one was cartoonishly sexist they where just early 1900s Japan and everything was a result of changing times rather than maliciousness. The dudes where actually pretty okay guys and the series acknowledged that yeah the girls probably wouldn't (and didn't beat) a team that's been training for a long time but their hard work was recognized and that's really all they wanted.
It's defiantly a far cry from something like say Princess 9
