Shit tier tropes in Anime

So we had a thread about god tier tropes, now it's time for shit tier tropes

>villain regenerates any damage effortlessly

>The Villains final form isn't their final form

>the power of friendship

>MC and best girl have some romantic interaction
>Something interrupts it

That's a fine trope though. You need to completely kill him, no half-assing it.

Literally best trope

>character is obviously surprised by opponent's action
a few moments later
>heh, I was only pretending, you fell into my trap

>this technique takes a decade to even try mastering it
>MC learns it within two days
I hate Bleach so fucking much

THIS IS 100% OF MY POWER
2 episodes later
actually more like 85%
THIS
is 100% of my power

>effortlessly

false

he spends a shitload of ki like piccolo does

>fight scene
>characters pause their fight to give long-ass monologues explaining what's happening in the fight or their motivations for fighting
>or a cutaway as a bystander does the same
>while the monologues are happening the characters are standing still, yelling at each other
>egregious use of backgrounds consisting only of LINES
Fuck shonen. The anime writing/directing community of Japan needs to line up and have someone tattoo on their foreheads the words "show, don't tell."

Ready, Sup Forums?
>the tsundere wins

>character uses "120% of their power"

When characters are about to say something extremely important but stop for seemingly no reason, or a minor reason.

Why do they stop? Just say the thing! You can say the thing, you don't have to drag it out! If they can't say the thing in the moment, have them say the thing soon afterwards, just say the thing!

>getting caught is part of the plan

>Character reaches their perfect complete form
>Dies and comes back super perfect whatever the fuck that means

>MC does an activity for the first time in his life
>immediately outperforms someone who has practiced for years
I hate this one because it happens in real life too.

>character gets absolutely destroyed, with no chance of survival
>emotional scene
>is shown recovering in hospital bed in the next ep
Just kill the character, you pussies.

>Fight against the final boss
>Better not go all out from the start, let me do this irrelevant shit tier weak ass attack first

>This technique/power-up shortens your lifespan.

Overused and we never get to see the impact of this.

To be fair, this trope is mostly shit when done by a supposedly underdog or loser character.

Smug geniuses pull it off fine.

You have to tell sometimes. Its an AUDIO-visual medium for a reason

>I LOVE A-KUN BECAUSE HE IS A-KUN

>Horrible even that could have been prevented if only the MC bothered to speak up.

Is there anything that has less weight than someone saying "but that attack could kill you!"?

Just once I want to see
>This technique/power-up increases your lifespan!

this

secret technique.

Shitty mid-fight powerups out of nowhere

"I remembered mid-fight that my garbageman once told me that the art of garbage dumping floats like moon on a serene lake surface, therefore I can now execute this legendary technique flawlessly even though I've never come close to completing it before."

OH MY SPIRIT BRACELETS.

>tfw no one will ever love you for being you

Hamon

I wouldn't hate this if this wasn't the majority.

>a female character is considered attractive by others in the anime
>she has cowtits

>This character is the most beautiful girl in the school!
>artstyle makes her look the same as any other female character

No, she has longer hair than other female, that establishes her dominance

>this is a bad thing

>oh fug, villain-san is too strong, I better waste my whole life with this final desperate technique
>oh fug, hero-kun is too strong, look at me jobbing before his ultimate power
>oh fug, the aftereffects of my ultimate technique kicked in just before I was about to deal the final blow to villain-san, now I am a frail old man
>oh fug, guess you can't achieve true victory if you need to sacrifice yourself each time to beat me, hero-kun

I refuse to die until I see this at least once

Sparks Liner High

>character is going to reveal something about themselves that would cue in other characters to what the viewer already knows
>interrupted

I really enjoyed immortality you know

This is why you should have gone with
>Shonen
>Villain gets interrupted before reaching their final form and is permanently defeated without it ever being revealed
Wait a second, does Vento Aureo count?

But, user, cowtits are attractive. Isn't Japan fault you're a full flaming fag.

>villain is strong

>constantly hope I have a secret talent that I've not discovered which will set my life path
>so far, I've only found that I can throw playing cards accurately

that can become a living, right?.......right?

>Heroes seem to pull off something by the skin of their teeth
>Goes back and explains how everything was actually planned from start

Kind of takes the tension out of it.

>villain is a joke character that the heroes have to nonetheless take seriously because it's got too much power to ignore
Another god-tier trope

>tfw no one will ever love you

Do you also have nen with the properties of rubber and gum? If so I have a job lined up for you.

>Wanting weak villians.

Star Wars VII: Rey

>Attack villain
>Cloud of dust
>"We did it"
>Cloud of dust fades away
>Villain is unharmed and laughs

>villain explains his power
>mc beats him with this knowledge

He's gone, not even ashes remain, he must be dead.

>he jumped into the air/behind them.

>happy ending

>the main protagonist is misunderstood and everybody hates them but they are actually superior to everyone else in some weird unrealistic way

The reason they use trope so often in everything is because the majority of viewers feel weak and they like to project themselves onto a character. People really like to see the loser character do something incredible even though it's impossible, just because it makes them feel better about them selves.

>i'll sacrifice myself to save you all
>doesn't actually die

Also
>i'll sacrifice myself to save you all
>its sacrifice is pointless

That's more
>"What's the force lol"
>"DO AS I COMMAND"
>"oh wow that actually worked, time to go defeat a trained jedi/sith with a weapon that canonically fucks you up if you don't train with it first"
>"oh look I won haha"

You mean like this?

>mc is made out to be weak
>is a literally unbeatable ultimate moralfag mary sue

this is really interesting, I'm a pretty well rounded person, but I'm absolutely horrible at throwing cards.

That movie was an insult to star wars fans i honestly thought rogue one was better

>love subplot in no love genres

They are both shit.
Look forward to evil Luke in Episode 8 because you know that's exactly what they are going to do.

Go to a bar that has a reputation for being populated by rowdy people and just wait until people start fighting. Interrupt the fight by accurately throwing the card between the two people fighting and run as fast as you can before they kick your shit.

>no love genre
Define this. Things aren't as neatly organised as you'd think.

>bullying tomboys

Can you do this?

>most generic, boring girl wins

>doing a forbidden technique will have repercussions on the MC's health in the long run
>MC uses and abuses it
>nothing happens in the long run to his health

>hero explains his power
>villain beats him with this knowledge

>MC uses a technique at the start of a fight
>'but user-kun, that technique uses too much stamina!'
>'I'll just have to finish this quickly!'
>MC doesn't finish it quickly
>MC doesn't only win the drawn-out fight but has energy to spare for shit that happens afterwards, too

the second is god tier though.

>everyone and their moms cheer up MC while he fights the BBG

For once I'd like a weak coward villain with no redeeming qualities who's just good at manipulating and running away.

Time limits of any kind.

Mangakas and anime directors don't really comprehend how time works.

The problem with those types of villains is that they will manipulate people enough so they get strong as fuck eventually.
Think Kefka from Final Fantasy 6

Spandam

>Gives a fucking speech
>"8 seconds have passed..."

Kumagawa?

>"Nani!? I can't move!"
>"How does it feel of being unable to move during one single second? I bet it feels like being about to drown while diving and not being able to come out of the water to breath"
>kicks leg
>everything a single second

goku did that first

>Does a count down for how much time has passed
>Takes longer than a second to say another second has passed

>Kumagawa
>weak
?

>mc and girl like each over
>mc runs away if girl ever tries to get close to him
>acts miserable everytime she's around like her presence ruined his day

>Final form
>Now I'm gonna go 100% of my final form

>Trying to introduce time travel and parallel universes into the story

literally Pariston in hxh

>Final Form
>Oh also this isn't my true final form, I have another one
>GOLDEN FURIZA

...

>cliffhanger into hiatus

>mc gets outsmarted and beaten in every way by villain
>villain about to deliver final blow
>WAIT, I HAVE FRIENDS
>huge power flows out of mc and somehow defeats villain

become twisted fate

>villain, amazed by his friendship power just wait there without moving to dodge MC's attack

>Cliffhanger into end of the series

Step up yo game, aniki

Izuru looked pretty cool here

>love interest finally confesses
>they get married and are happy together
>one of them dies to some asspull and leaves the other alone
>series ends

>Everyone in the series gets rez'd and all tension/sense of sacrifice/loss/what if scenarios/overcoming of powerful villains gets thrown out the window just so they can job

Resurrection of any kind

TTGL second half was pure shit

Namek time is the worst. Or rather, ZA WORUSTO

>Last words are some sort of:
>"If we were born again... I would like to try... to be your f... friend..."
>Dies
