"At 6:15pm...

>"At 6:15pm, Agent Touta Matsuda of the NPA shoots the man who calls himself L five times in the head before turning the gun on himself."

Wow, that was hard.

>Wow, that was hard.
Reading the rules sure is.
You can have only one fatality per death note entry.

How mad would Light be if L survived that like that one pastor or whatever did?

You can't mind control someone with DN to kill another person. Light fucking tested this.

You cant make people kill other people directly with the Death Note, light make other people write names because its just writing, so that works

L would either survive or Matsuda would get a heart attack.

Does that rule apply when you write down the names of all people involved? For example, "person x shoots persons y and z then uses the gun to commit suicide".

Yes.
But that wouldn't stop you if you have Y's and Z's names, since you can just give them their own entries.

How to Use - X
Article 2 • Whether the cause of the individual's death is either a suicide or accident, if the death leads to the death of more than the intended, the person will simply die of a heart attack. This is to ensure that other lives are not influenced.

How to Use - XXVI:
Article 2 • Even though only one name is written in the Death Note, if it influences and causes other humans that are not written in it to die, the victim's cause of death will be a heart attack.

>"At 6:15pm, Agent Touta Matsuda of the NPA shoots the man who calls himself L five times in the leg before turning the gun on himself."

Would that work? L technically doesn't die from the note but he's bound to bleed out after that.

So pregnant women are immune to the Death Note?

Let's be clear here, it doesn't even matter if he could do this. Light won anyway. He only lost because the author pulled some random geniuses out of their butthole to make Light lose anyway. The bottom line is there is no way Light could have possibly won, because this was a children's manga and they will not let a serial killer win in a children's manga.

L still dies because of the note.

Doesn't work because 5 shots in the head is most probably outside of Matsuda's skills. Even 1 shot I'm not sure.

The leg shots are nonlethal meme needs to stop.

So what happens if you use the death note on an airplane pilot in the middle of a flight?

Probably. I think you can't kill children with it under a certain age anyways.

>"At 6:15pm, Agent Touta Matsuda of the NPA shoots the man who calls himself L nonlethally in the hand 3 times before turning the gun on himself."
Better?

Fuck this would make a really good spinoff

Read the freaking posr

Read all the rules to the death note, They're carefully and intentionally written to close any possible plot holes that the omnipotent death note might have had. Any FRODO argument you have will be covered in there

You're wrong
The person whose name is written in the death note dies 100%. What happens is that if you order the person to do something that can kill other people, the victim whose name is written in the death note dies from a heart attack instead of performing that act.
So in this case , if you write that the pilot crashes the plane by his own will, or make him kill the copilot, he dies from a heart attack before performing them. Then the plane might crash or might not crash depending on the copilot.

What about if you just repeatedly killed people near him, but had them beat L senseless before dying? That way he wouldn't die but he would keep getting his ass kicked until he gave up.

Write the names of prostitutes and have them give him STDs before dying of unrelated causes the morning after.

>>"At 6:15pm, Agent Touta Matsuda of the NPA drugs and kidnaps the man who calls himself L, buries him in the forest, goes back to his house and shots himself"

The Death Note can't kill a secondary target or anyone without their real name. L wouldn't die, but with Matsuda's death then it would just prove to L that Light is kira.

It can't make someone do something they're incapable of. L wouldn't allow himself to be drugged and Matsuda would just die from a heart attack.

Did you retards even watch/read this series?

You can't make multiple die while writing a cause of death

It would only work if you write "goes on a shooting spree" then write the names of the people he shoots with "shot by L"
At least that's how I think it would work

How about
>"At 6:15pm, Agent Touta Matsuda of the NPA tortures the man who calls himself L until he reveals his name, Touta writes down the name and then commits suicide."

What part of "if the death leads to the death of more than the intended" do you not understand?

Then how did Light kill all FBI agents, you dumbass?

This. Also, why didn't Light just shoot L?

>you share a board with these morons

>At 6:15 PM, Stephen Paddock breaks through the windows of his hotel room and shoots bullets into the crowd below before turning the gun on himself when police break down the door."

user missed and an hero himself.

This... Might actually be a valid loophole. Been a while since I've seen all the rules though. We've seen people write down information before they die that was directly used in a future entry.

What part of non-lethally do you not understand? L wouldn't die.

Whats the point of causing harm to L without killing him? If Light were to do any of these stupid ideas, then it would mark him as Kira because no one knows who the Kira team is except the team itself and Light is L's prime suspect. They'll also just have a heart attack if they're unable to do what was written, so I can't remember if L allowed them to bring their guns in the hotel or not, but if not and Matsuda can't get a gun to him he would just die of a heart attack.

None of these scenarios would be beneficial to Light.

W-wait explain. First time death note viewer here.

He tricked the FBI agent he discovered into writing the names of all of the others onto Deathnote paper.

Basically, he had [blank] sends Agent1 the list of all agents, before suffering a heart attack on a sheet of paper, then gave Agent1 the sheet in a file with some card overlay over it, so he could only see the blank spaces.
He told Agent1 to write his bosses name in the first blank space, then when he received the e-mail with all the other names, he told him to write them in the other blank spaces.

If I remember right, the only way he controlled him with the Death note was by getting him to go to the subway station where he met up with him, after that he threatened him personally to do what he wanted without the use of the note.

The death note does not interfere with the natural life span of unnamed people.

Heart attack. Try again.

> Four astronauts and a teacher on a space shuttle
> One takes the escape pod and dies
> Two jump out the airlock
> One dies
How does the teacher live? Can the death note leave people in indirect danger? Just how clever can you be with it?

No, they watched the netflix movie and read the summary of the anime on a wiki before coming over to shitpost.

That's the entire point, user.
>Whats the point of causing harm to L without killing him?
You can make him completely unable to defend himself and not even have to find his name for your magic book. Also, before he knew which one L was, something like this could have been used to identify L.
Yes, evidence, investigation, blah blah, but remember that Light was willing to take massive risks for the sake of eliminating the only person who had a chance at stopping him. Cleaning up the mess would have been easy. M and N don't exist so there's literally nothing else to do.

only if you're prolife

>You can make him completely unable to defend himself
That could affect his lifespan, making the DN not work.

Why couldn't he do this
>At [Insert time here] [person on the investigation unit] will carry a box containing lighter fluid, and accidentally slip on something while smoking a cigarette, causing death.

The fire caused by the lighter fluid wouldn't kill L immediately, only horribly cripple him in the short term and likely kill him down the road, if he was in the room.

Doesn't work if it affects someone else's lifespan.

fucking speedwatchers

How do you get that from the rules posted? She'd just die from a heart attack.

>Person kills themselves by jumping off Building A at 3:14 PM
What if a random guy happens to be walking past the bottom of Building A at 3:14 and the jumper would land on them? Not as something intended by the writer, just a coincidence.

How come Light didn't just make someone discover the cure for aging, and solve string theory for practically unlimited energy production with the death note? He could have saved the human race.

>At 6:15PM, Agent Tutsi Pop Mitsubishi gives the a spare gun to the man who calls himself L before shooting himself on the head with his other gun

>At 6:16pm L having the gun Mitsubishi Hiroshima provided him, he will then proceed to shoot himself on the head

wew lad

Jesus Christ you're retarded.

you need L's last name too

>can't do anything that would affect another person's lifespan
What a retarded and nebulous rule. What if Light has someone burn their house down while no one else is inside? No one else is harmed, but being homeless is probably going to affect his family's lifespan.

lurk 3 more years before posting

Yes, the rules explicitly say that if the actions you force the target to take would harm or kill other people, the written actions are ignored and they instead die of a heart attack.

Indirectly. It didn't violate a rule to make someone else write on death note paper, which is less indirect.

Therad should have ended here
Delete this thread now mods

Not according to the Netflix movie!

>The death note does not interfere with the natural life span of unnamed people
Actually, it does. There's a rule that says the notebook can indirectly change other people's lifespans, even if their names are never written down. So in your scenario it's perfectly possible to kill the teacher in that way.

You're joking of course, right? Kinda hard to tell with the rest of these tards

If she dies then the baby would die, hence, she cannot die, I guess you could kill the baby if you see a photo of the baby and if the mother already gave him a name, so untill you manage to kill the baby the mother will be immune to the death note.
