So, after Sup Forums taught me that Hiramoto is "cheating" by tracing 3D models, I started wondering: What artists are "cheating" while creating their works?
I mean, it's well-known that Western artists swipe (trace another work) and trace (backgrounds) a lot. What about Japs?
If you like it, it's paying a homage. If you don't like it, it's a rip-off.
Thomas Adams
Are you fucking retarded or just new to manga?
Nathaniel Hughes
I really don't give a shit, I want to steal their techniques of cheating.
Both.
Chase Rivera
God bless Hiramoto for drawing Mari.
Asher Barnes
>cheating Fuck off back to Sup Forums
Alexander Clark
Settle down onii-chan.
I just want sum examples and techniques.
Mason Evans
Anything with those hyperrealistic backgrounds cheat. Inio Asano is one of the most well known tracers. Hiroya Oku is also one. Togashi also has a few examples here and there
Gabriel Wright
Tsugumomo Author wisely uses self-created 3D-models that were inspired by real places in part.
Sebastian Powell

Adam Davis
yea but post shit faggots
Zachary Watson
The trick's to use any 3D models sparingly and only for the most detailed and difficult poses or perspectives. But it's not absolute.
Everything can be freehand or referencing to real images, photos, maneqiuns, or real models like your mirror reflection. That's the real and only way to grind the experience curve.
Jack Torres
Ken Akamatsu uses 3D extensively to model backgrounds, then draws over them.
Alexander Rivera
Surprised nobody has mentioned Gantz yet.
Benjamin Rogers
go to Sup Forums and they'll show you tons of absolutely blatant examples how frequently tracing porn, movie stills, and even ad images is used for characters in capeshit. All done by highly paid professionals.
Cooper Carter
Dunno if that counts as cheating, since he adds a shiton of details to his drawings. The guy is borderline autist when it comes to details. Now, he does indeed cheat when he must draw nature backgrounds, like a forest or a park. He uses real pictures and gives it grayscale and calls it a day.
Evan Hill
DAGA OTOKODA!!
Henry Harris
>tfw genetics cheat and trace Hiramoto's work
Parker Brooks
Togashi, u hack
Matthew Campbell
I'm pretty sure a lot of artists, even before the advent of digital stuff, just had their assistants take and trace photos for some backgrounds.
Asano uses filters.

Hint for FBI mods. OP is rubbing himself while he waits for someone to post some loli and suggest that it was traced. Only then as OP climaxes will the purpose of his thread be fulfilled.
Xavier Phillips
don't you mean /ic/ ?
Evan Parker
All loli produced in Japan is traced. They have dungeons full of children stolen by men with Geiger meters kidnapping them to be used in the doujin industry. This is a fact prove me wrong
Austin Sanchez
>Inio Asano >"tracing" That would imply he even bothered to put ink to half that shit.
Levi Howard
Asano doesn't even trace he throws 4 fucking filters on a background and calls it a day
Are you idiots? Asano takes his own pictures, he research a lot, then he choses the photos and work them, is not like taking an Istockphoto and paste it on your comic designed page. He repaints and redraws a lot. Also, why is people so butthurt about mangaka using photos and tracing on their work? Is not like they are Bob Ross.
