I’ve seen a few examples of this but the best sourced example I can think of is the mma fighter Jeff Monson. He may be a “top level” fighter but he’s still extremely skilled, very muscular, very masculine attitude, and identifies as being a Communist.
What’s the motive for Alpha Communists? They surely must have different motives than the regular run of the mill Commie right? Or have they just been so brainwashed that no amount of masculinity can save them?

There are those who believe, for whatever reason, that communism/socialism have not been implemented yet in their true form. It's pure, rather stupid idealism and a hope for a better world of non-exploitation of the masses by the elite.
On the other hand, in my europoor shithole, as well as in many other ex-Socialist countries and of course Russia, there are still people who are nostalgic for Socialist times. While there was poverty, deficit of some goods and political repression, there was virtually no street/petty crime as criminals were really put in their place. For example, in my country people used to leave their doors unlocked at night since thefts, murders and rapes were so incredibly rare and when they did happen, they were punished severely (we had deaths penalty back then). Gypsies were virtually docile because even a slight misdemeanor by one was swiftly and effectively followed by brutal beatings by the police officially documented as "restraining after resisting arrest" or "non-cooperation during questioning". Considering the fact that Bulgaria is being destroyed by gyppos as we speak and the authorities do nothing about it because they use gyppo votes to win elections and remain in power, there is no wonder why some people are nostalgic for the past.

There are those, however, who are so blinded by their own naivety and sense of justice that they put an unrealistic amount of faith in human kind. Usually those are somewhat smart, hardworking and virtuous people who were raised by honorable dads and kind mothers to be your typical well-rounded good guy who helps out his neighbors, gives his all in his job and is kind to the elderly. My grandad was this exact type and the only reason he believed communism may work is because he projected his own standards of virtue upon humanity as a whole, blindly hoping that people can be better than they are or could ever be.
