Why was the 90's so much different than today?

Why was the 90's so much different than today?
I remember the 90's being the best years of my life, but maybe it's just rose colored goggles.

Because gen x were douchebags and not faggots like gen y.

In the 90s there was so much hope for future I feel a lot of it come from technology. Now what do we have to look forward to? The rest of our big cities turning into brown shitholes, stagnant wages, prices rising, divorce more likely than it not happening. I wonder why I keep going most days

Internet & Social Media turned everyone into robots who all try to act the same, look the same, just to fit in. No one is their own person anymore. People were more unique then and if you just went to the next state they had their own very unique culture and accents and people.

New things were around every corner for one willing to just get in his car and travel. Now wherever you travel in USA, it's all the same shit. Homogenized copycat people everywhere with no one being themselves.

90s were good, but 80s was the last great decade.

Attached: knox2.jpg (615x748, 70K)

now this nigga right here woke

no internet so world around you seemed smarter and hopeful because what retards you met was limitied by where you lived, now you're on internet, a world library, and bombarded daily by retards, faggots and various undesirables telling you that they're more than you and you should serve them

Watch a show called "Mike Judge Presents Tales From the Tour Bus" for examples of how unique people were back then. Truly they were their own persons.

True. Boomers when they were younger were pretty cool.

Remember back when boomers would pull rare shit all the time and blame "changing times"? But young people couldn't even apply for jobs because that would mean they didn't "work hard to earn it".

They cut a whole generation out of the pie and that generation repays them with refusal to breed or work.

And everyone hates on the people that are themselves. They're called special snowflakes.

Anyone who acted that way today would be considered the biggest freak alive just for keeping it real and truly being themselves. In a world of social media it is extremely easy to become an outcast just for slightly stepping out of the mainstream's narrow sheep mentality.

In the 80s the further you stepped out of line the cooler you were.

There was lots of divorce in the 90s and the crime rate was a lot higher. You're right about stagnant wages and prices rising though.

Bull market on an infinite run.
We'll never have that again.

Well that's it douchebags, whilst you wouldn't mind punching them in the head, they would keep to themselves, and spend all their energies trying to get into the pants of the hotties, which they usually did. It required a lot of energy, you had to have top hygiene, keep a solid social circle, go to parties and nightclubs, all whilst doing something half way challenging like marketing or something at uni.

I'm Millennial and I was an outcast and pariah for acting myself. It just made me misanthropic, hate people, and make me not care at all about society.

To this day I'm so used to peer criticism I could do whatever I please even if others screamed at me not to.

In 2018 you must conform or be destroyed. And what counts as conformity is extremely narrow.

Worst show ever

I can't meet 2018 standards so I decided not to try and to be completely and utterly ruthless towards anyone who is the least bit hostile to me. If standards are this narrow it's better not to try and cut almost everyone out of my life.

Heres the secret every generation looks on their years they spent as teens as the golden age as that is the age when you can enjoy the perks of adulthood with none of the responsibility or awareness of the shit going on.

Because the world truly was different. Gays were still unaccepted, shops still closed on Sunday, most cities were majority white. People still let their kids play outside and had neighbourhood BBQs. Our culture has shifted drastically in a short period of time. Everything just became more and more subjective and society's moral standards are eroding away. Slowy, people seem to be waking up. They've had enough of the leftist (((media))) and their propaganda and it shows in election results around the world. Good times are on the way my friend, but we will have to work for it.

Attached: 1520749994246.jpg (512x512, 46K)

This is why I believe in individualism so strongly. I've been fucked over by peer groups all my life. When I get my own business it's not going to go by majority rules. If someone acts snarky at me for being different enough I can fire them.

>All this technology is making people antisocial and conformist

People are extremely aware of politics as teens. Who are you kidding?

youtube.com/watch?v=kz99xXhbpXQ
i honestly never thought i'd ever be so nostalgic for the 90s, but now that i'm nearly 30, it overwhelms me. the first time i did acid a couple years ago my mate asked what was going through my head, and honestly, it was just flashbacks to the 90s. no doubt it's a large part due to my youth and happier times with my nice white family in a nice white community, but i miss a lot of the pop culture and "shitty" tech and internet. i like that back then you still had incentive to leave your home, like looking for niche shops to find imported animu. and that the internet itself was still not common for most people, and it didn't have this cancerous social media angle it does now.

i want to go back so bad.

>so I decided not to try and to be completely and utterly ruthless towards anyone who is the least bit hostile to me.
That's good. They deserve it. They're low wavelength cunts.

Why are you an annoying whiner?

Generation Y here (1980 onwards)
The 90s was /ourdecade/ and we weren't faggy. You're talking about Gen Z.

that show fucking sucked

I've been told I have a boulder on my shoulder but these people have no idea what kind of peers I have to deal with.

He thinks Millennials didn't exist until 2009.

>They cut a whole generation out of the pie and that generation repays them with refusal to breed or work.

seriously I'm watching this left and right, nobody is qualified to do anything anymore, every sector is falling apart

this is fucking great, I laugh every time a business passes down to some asshole who wrecks decades of labor it in minutes

Things get better the farther you go back in time. The 90s were a pile of shit compared to the 50s.

NO BUT DUDE TYHO REMEMBER WHEEN I AWAS LIEK YOUGNER OR SOME SHIT YO LOLOL

YEA WAS DA SHIT

yo dump ur sick nazui memes bro 20017 was the shit dude

Attached: sdfsdfdsf.jpg (1280x720, 87K)

I was born in 1982. They called us millennials before 2000 (graduated HS in 2000). Eat a dick..

I was also part of a close knit white community growing up. Everyone cared about each other. Now it has all be destroyed (I primarily blame Jews) and I have no white community who cares about each other to even be a part of because most of them are destroyed now. They just naturally existed back then, nobody had to form them.

Also, Berlin wall had just come down, Dessert Storm/24 hour news was starting, 1997 Hong Kong went back to Chinese rule.

Probably because they started a workplace based on how many people skills you have. They locked out the talented asocial people just for the feelz and the next generation will do the same.

When did this care go away?

SOO COOL BRO

I ASLO LOVE WALLS!

ALSO REMBER WHEN TRUMP ASLO SAID SOM THING ABOUT WASLL LOL (i do)

Nah. 90s were grunge and a few shallow pop tunes, which was mid gen x, then the late 90s was latter gen x, which was techno and nig music and toxic shit like Limp Bizkit, which was awful.

2000s onwards was gen y. You are soon to be usurped by gen z and then you will become old and shitty like me.

You were still inside playing nintendo and being driven around by your mum in the 90s.

The internet fucked everything over.

Its not politics but economics, how many 90s kids remember the dot-com bubble, NAFTA or the end of lifetime employment?

What you get is just a bit of LARPing as activists and temporary moral outrage.

They'd experience the end of lifetime employment by their parents losing their jobs.

Many were also aware of NAFTA and the dot com bubble and home prices going up at even younger ages. Believe it or not parents and children watch the news and discuss political events together.

It was a very big deal you cumming guzzling retard. Please go dab somewhere else.

precisely. I speak 5 languages and have years of experience as a painter and repairman. None of that matters because I have one single requirement for work:
>Boss must be born in Australia

Limp Bizkit, Korn, and all those bands are what early Millennials listened to in the late 90s and early 2000s. Late Gen X was listening to Grunge and Gangsta rap. Early Gen X was listening to New Wave Alternative, 80s pop songs, and Metal.

look into XENIALS people who experienced an analogue childhood and digital adulthood

I don't think you understand how the term "Generation X", Y, and Z are used. If you were born after 1980 (through at least the mid 1990s), you are considered Generation Y.
It is a term used to refer to people born in a certain period of time.

As for millennials, I've always understood the term to mean those who were graduating high school between 1999/2000 until around 2010.

Gen Y are Millenials

>They'd experience the end of lifetime employment by their parents losing their jobs.
Not really, it was a temporary unemployment spike them which didn't really illustrate the fundamental changes going on.

>Many were also aware of NAFTA and the dot com bubble and home prices going up at even younger ages. Believe it or not parents and children watch the news and discuss political events together.
A basic awareness of them existing maybe but you severely overestimate the understanding and level of economic discussion going on between children and teens.

>In this ITT

>Not really, it was a temporary unemployment spike them which didn't really illustrate the fundamental changes going on.

But as the changes went on they'd see their parents going from job to job and they'd get the hint.

>
A basic awareness of them existing maybe but you severely overestimate the understanding and level of economic discussion going on between children and teens.

For even childhood I base it on my own experiences. I also base it on the fact that teens of the 60s were extremely aware of politics to the point it influenced a great deal.

This

I was born in 84 I don't identify with someone born in 1996 you dumb cunt

What birth years do you identify with?

It's Pandora's box.
It unleashed horrors but also the only chance to break free from the hopeless ignorance that boomers were doomed to.

I hated the 90s, everything good was a holdover from the 80s, everything new was complete trash. The only good thing were the videogames but that's because all the computer nerds who were making them were still stuck in the 80s.

That said, the entire last 100 years were just a constant and steady decline into madness and inhumanity. Everything good and true is being eroded by lies and pure evil. The traitors among us have allowed the hordes to infiltrate our lands.

>But as the changes went on they'd see their parents going from job to job and they'd get the hint.
It was still aberrant rather than the norm and children who only feel the secondary effects of they dont have to wrestle with that visceral uncertainty as well as it being easier to see it as something that will be different for you.

>For even childhood I base it on my own experiences
I base it on the fact that mellenials have better views of free trade, globalism and lower unionisation rates than other generations.

> I also base it on the fact that teens of the 60s were extremely aware of politics to the point it influenced a great deal.
They didnt, you are confusing it with the people in their twenties like Huey P Newtons and the Ayers.

90's were the last decade you could easily label the decade. We had the 00's after that but nobody called it "zeros" same with "the 10's". Only when we get to the 20's will we have that same ease again.

No they're not, they just think they are. teens.

>the 2000's

At least it seems like people are starting to polarize along more real and unreconcilable lines. After all, social cohesion can't continue to break down indefinitely.
Something's gotta give.

They made you wear googles.. man you must have had fucked eyes

>I base it on the fact that mellenials have better views of free trade, globalism and lower unionisation rates than other generations.

I don't have a favorable view of any of this.

Hate this fallacious comparison. The smartphone and the newspaper share similar features but the way they shape behavior and the overall product that they are is vastly different.

>They didnt, you are confusing it with the people in their twenties like Huey P Newtons and the Ayers.

They influenced the teenagers and the teenagers were the followers. Many of them ran away as teens in the 60s and lived in communes. Many of them also protested the Vietnam War.

>It was still aberrant rather than the norm and children who only feel the secondary effects of they dont have to wrestle with that visceral uncertainty as well as it being easier to see it as something that will be different for you.

Children absorb their environment. They see their parents discussing things. They know if they're poor or if their mom or dad loses work.

the 90's were some of the worst years of my life

t. gen x

Same user. 90s were a magical time. Culture and music was better. The millennials whiny bitches fucked up everything like the mama's boys they are.

>be on Sup Forums
>"the best years of my life"
>use cuckold leftist corporate (((tv-series))) with dominate strong women and beta-males as reference

brilliant OP, now back to r*dd*t

Attached: 1520101254925.jpg (750x750, 38K)

Rampant individualism ruined the individual
Rampant feminism ruined the woman
Rampant altruism ruined the white race

>90s were a magical time

no the gay 90's weren't 'magical' and it was when the beta male uprising started along with all the politically correct bs

Because the PC culture started in the early 90s and was fucking murdered and life became fun.

In 2018 it's conform or be attacked. I'm individualist because I've had bad experiences with always putting the group first.

>I don't have a favorable view of any of this.
Well congrats on being atypical.
> Many of them ran away as teens in the 60s and lived in communes. Many of them also protested the Vietnam War.
I think you might be confused as to what "many" means. People under 18 were not a big part of the protest movement and their presence at communes (which were rare already) with being brought there by their parents was extremely rare.

> remember the 90's being the best years of my life
Maybe because you were a child

mass immigration only began with Bush I in the learly 90s. America was still a white country up until 2000

Attached: 1520009252908.png (609x643, 357K)

They weren't brought there by their parents in most cases. They ran away. Many hitch hiked to get around.

>They weren't brought there by their parents in most cases. They ran away. Many hitch hiked to get around.
Source on those commune demographics?

Hello there,

resident of Dr.moreau's island

or can we say hello Dr.Frankenstein's creation

Just Look around and you know it

It's fucked up

American people are not only mentally fucked up they are also fucked up genetically

What is this?

30% hispanic 30% black 30% white 10% who know what the fcuk is DNA stuff

at least gook and japs are 100% pure fascist

America becoming brown and polarize society

you either kike rich who enjoy lechery shit or mongrel slave

I hope motherfucking white american finally eradicate from earth by racial communist group

So maybe future white race can survive

No exact source. I've watched movies and documentaries on the 60s.

That was the 2000s dumbass. Most people still didn't own computers in the 90s. Smartphones were nonexistent. Phone numbers were still all remembered in ones head and BBS's were how computer nerds connected. Amazon was an online book store and people still bought music at Hastings. Recognize bitch.

Well a good sign is just how common university students were and how common universities were as a site of protest - unlike say highschools. Likewise 15 and 16 year olds cant exactly burn draft cards. If they arent common at the major protests and movements it seems unlikley that they would be a big part of the most extreme lifestyle changes.

Are you sure you aren't confusing this group with 18+ year olds?

This actually scares me about the people today. They're soulless robots who think normal behaviour is crazy. Any sort of liveliness or alpha actions must mean you're "mentally incompetent". These people are anti-humans.

Attached: 1346918598397.gif (499x281, 867K)

90's were pretty bad overall but not as bad as today. 80's was the best, period.

also worth stating is that in the 90s, what is considered modern soiboi liberalism was still thought of as radical leftism. shit that was fringe and only happened in liberal arts programs at universities. mass marketed movies back then took the piss out of leftists and were geared towards men.

Attached: pcu.jpg (1469x940, 211K)

There used to be white tv shows back then.

wrong.

you do what i want, or YOU will be destroyed. you forget you have an entire generation of literal psychos and murderers who've been coddled... just.... walking around.

hi!

no, dummy, we're gen x.

kys

>Why was the 90's so much different than today?
analogue film

Friends? really?

You are WRONG. 90s was just another point in the plan. Peak commercialism a time where if you didnt wear NIKE or Doc MArteens you were made fun of. It was the age of comformity. It was also the age of accepting the govt as corrupt and all powerful. Look at the defeatist music of the time. The heroin addiced entertainers. 90s was also the beginning of destroying white culture. Many black sitcoms came out in the 90s too many to name featuring a strong all black cast and the dorky white guy side chracter that the blacks would degrade. You need to get your eyes checked kids. This story began long ago and you never lived in the right time. It never existed.

Seriously. A more apt pic would have been Seinfield or Star Trek The Next Generation.

How do you deal with them? I just learned to just barge on through and not even care about people's outrage. I'm so used to criticism I can do almost anything and be shameless.

Sprewell fighting back and choking user knight was kinda funny after knight had done everything from throw chairs at players to smack them
