Not anime referencing anime but Inuyashiki referenced Ikiru(1952). Sang the same song while rocking back and forth on the swingset, similar story of old dude being told he has a few months left to live.
Cozy reference, made it seem more like the character himself was thinking of the movie more than the studio referencing the movie out of context.

Solid taste. You should enjoy the good parts of Naruto. Just keep the list of fillers to be ready to skip the becuase they drag out the show to dogshit levels on average. Also the last arc is pretty shit in general but still worth a watch imo.

Because the difference is that Naruto's entire appeal is because of its fight scenes. There's literally nothing else behind it. So then, when the fight scenes are stolen from something else, there's nothing else to Naruto.
