44 pro-ISIS militants killed, 26 injured in clash with Philippine troops – army At least 44 pro-Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) militants were killed after Philippine soldiers shelled positions held by the fighters in southern Maguindanao province, according to the country's army. An additional 26 militants were wounded in the operation. The fighting against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) began in a remote village in Datu Saudi Ampatuan on Thursday morning and continued into Friday, Lt. Col. Gerry Besana said, as cited by Reuters. He added that the military is "pursuing about 200 more militants," and that the clash had displaced about 500 families. The Philippines classifies the BIFF, which has about 300 members, as a terrorist organization.
>Taliban fighters capture district center in W. Afghan province bordering Iran Taliban fighters have captured a district center in Afghanistan’s western province of Farah bordering Iran, officials said on Monday. A large group of fighters captured the center of Anar Dara district on Sunday night after hours of fighting, Reuters quoted Naser Mehri, a spokesman for the provincial governor, as saying. However, police and intelligence service forces were still holding out in their headquarters, Mehri said. The announcement came days after local officials said the Taliban had inflicted heavy losses on Afghan special forces in another district of Farah. The government has long struggled to impose control in the poor and isolated region.
>Myanmar building security structures atop Rohingya land – Amnesty Myanmar is building security installations on top of razed Rohingya villages, Amnesty International said Monday. The statement is casting doubt on the country’s plans to repatriate hundreds of thousands of refugees. Nearly 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled northern Rakhine state to Bangladesh since Myanmar launched a crackdown on insurgents six months ago. Myanmar says it was responding to attacks by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army in late August. Satellite imagery and interviews point to a rapid increase in military infrastructure and other construction since the start of the year, according to a new Amnesty report. The evidence shows that the Myanmar authorities are building over the top of the very places the Rohingya need to return to, Tirana Hassan, Amnesty’s crisis response director, said, as cited by AFP.
I know some of the Syrian embassies shut down because of sanctions and such, so some of the services were transferred to the Lebanese embassies.
You'll want to check to see if the Belgium-based Syrian embassy is operational.

>Netanyahu reaches deal with ultra-Orthodox allies to avert early elections Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reached a late-night compromise with his ultra-Orthodox coalition allies that could avert early elections, AP reports. A parliamentary committee approved a bill on Monday to extend military draft exemptions to ultra-Orthodox men. However, the motion could still be thwarted by one of Netanyahu’s key coalition partners. Members of Netanyahu’s government have argued in recent days over whether to extend the exemptions demanded by ultra-Orthodox leaders. Rival parties have threatened to topple the coalition over the issue, raising the possibility of early elections. Netanyahu’s coalition government has the support of 66 of the 120 lawmakers in parliament. The political crisis comes as prime minister is battling a series of corruption allegations. nytimes.com/aponline/2018/03/12/world/middleeast/ap-ml-israel-politics.html

Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Macron said France and India want to “be able to continue with new volumes and production in line with what has already been signed.” The president was referring to India’s purchase of six conventionally powered Scorpene submarines in 2005 and 36 Rafale fighter jets in 2016. >Al-Nusra terrorists used chlorine chemicals in Eastern Ghouta – Russian envoy to UN
Russia’s envoy to the UN Vassily Nebenzia has accused militant groups in Eastern Ghouta of using chlorine gas, while stressing that the Syrian government has every right to eradicate the “terrorism hotbed” near its capital. Nebenzia has defended Syria’s government and the ongoing anti-terrorism operation in Eastern Ghouta, asserting that it has “every right to try and remove the threat to the safety of its citizens.”
“According to information at our disposal, on March 5, Al-Nusra militants used chorine substance in Eastern Ghouta, which injured 30 civilians. All this is done to prepare the grounds for unilateral military actions against sovereign Syria,” Nebenzia stated. “The suburbs of Damascus cannot remain a hotbed of terrorism. And it is being used for continued attempts by terrorists to undermine the cessation of hostilities.”
>'Sort this out for yourselves first, then come talk to us' – Putin to BBC journalist on Skripal case
Vladimir Putin has brushed off questions about Russia’s responsibility for the poisoning of ex-double agent Sergei Skripal, as reports circulated that the UK plans to say that Moscow could be behind the incident. “Sort this out for yourselves first, then come talk to us,” said the Russian president, when asked about the case by a BBC journalist during a visit to the southern region of Krasnodar. Putin then emphasized that he was in the region to deal with matters related to agriculture, not international espionage.
>Britain gives Moscow two days to explain alleged use of nerve agent from Russia
Britain has given Moscow two days to explain the alleged use of a military-grade nerve agent from Russia to poison former double agent Sergei Skripal. PM Theresa May was giving an update to MPs on the incident.
>She said it was "highly likely" the attack was either a direct act by the Russian state on Britain, or the Russian government allowed its nerve agent 'Novichok' to get into the wrong hands. “The government has concluded that it is highly likely that Russia was responsible,” she said.
"Either this was a direct act by the Russian State against our country, or the Russian government lost control of this potentially catastrophically damaging nerve agent and allowed it to get into the hands of others."
"We will not tolerate such a brazen attempt to murder innocent civilians on our soil."
They lost that much ground because the Assadists are fighting against women and children. There are virtually no fighters in the pocket yet Assad indiscriminately bombs and shells

Any thoughts on goutha next gain? What do you think /sg/?
Hey /sg/, I'm not often in these threads but I check the Syria maps daily. Can someone explain to me why no one is capturing pic related area? Wtf is going on there?
Does the press just don't want ISIS to die so they can continue selling it as a threat?
Kurds stopped attacking ISIS as a protest against Turks attacking Afrin if I remember right.
Nathaniel Nelson
>Wtf is going on there? Bombings and raids >Does the press just don't want ISIS to die so they can continue selling it as a threat? You nailed it, although the Turkish op in Afrin has a lot to do with why Kurds aren't attacking ISIS.
Slow progression was being made there by the Kurds, but once Operation Olive Branch began, the Kurds dropped their offensive in DEZ governorate and began moving their troops to Afrin and Manbij.

This. The only way Assas gets hard is if he kills children. He is currently running around in Ghouta naked with his penis erect slaughtering kids with a katana and using their blood as lube.

It allows the US to justify its presence in syria.

This. >American and allied total inflicted casualties upon ISIS: >82,931+ Killed >Syrian, Russian, Iranian, Hezbollah Terrorists, and Shia Terrorist Militias combined inflictied casualties upon ISIS: >4767+ Killed America defeated ISIS.
I wish we could get more informed Americans like you to post in these threads. Too many shills in here constantly I usually love discussing conflicts but this thread is intolerable.

I think there is one between the US and Russia and the SAA is more or less a Russian-Iranian pet force at this point.
