Looks shitty

Is this set in the Sora no Woto universe?

I don't particularly like KyoAni but its hard to see that anything else on TV can compete in terms of production quality with this.

>netflix

Looks great. Violet though gives a vibe of too naive and innocent a person.

>metal hands
This is the most peverse way of censoring lewd handholding I've ever seen. Is Japan shedding its degenerate skin and becoming PC?

Looks fantastic.

Violet looks really beautiful and cute i'm sold.

Looks good, but per Kyo Ani it'll probably be somewhat lacking in the story.

this man, she's my waifu, you guys can stay out

...

is she a bot? why did they make an office bot to look like this?

The animation feels awkward and the Ufotable filters sure don't help.

No one is even CLOSE to Kyoani, This is fucking beautiful.

Kyoani are also the best cake designs, We truly are blessed.

looks extremely pretentious but it's cute atleast

Yui Ishikawa as Violet Evergarden
>2B, Mikasa

Aya Endo as Cattleya Baudelaire
Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert Bougainvillea
Kouki Uchiyama as Benedict Bleu
Takehito Koyasu as Claudia Hodgins

...

who will save us from netflix next year? Vivid?

...

>Elite soldier with great killing strike records
>That feminine & soft
Well, the story is pretty much shit.
Why doesn't they just make full blown traditional romance instead? It suits the setting & chara design perfectly.

Nah, at least it's not /u/bait like usual. So, /u/faggots only can stay on the corner.

Asenshi I hope.

>Old Hags - The Anime

I know a best girl when I see it. 10/10 design.

is that a girl (male)?

Voiced by Minori Chihara (Mitsuki from Kyoukai no Kanata)

Voiced by Haruka Tomatsu (Saki from Valvrape)

Minorin is singing the ED too.

>>Old Hags - The Anime

Oh baby

Violet ages from 10-14 in episode 1.

She's a big girl

Most likely Asenshi considering they did LWA and currently Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau.

Gilbert does say she looks older than he initially thought she was after spending several years with her. She doesn't look 10 (his estimate) when she meets him in the anime though.

4u

It's set between the end of Youjo Senki and the nuclear war that precedes Sora no Woto.

Why does KyoAni always have such a huge boner for Minorin?

...

Netflix will surely delay this by three months or something, right? How the fuck could a company be that retarded?

I guess expecting novel PV1 quality is asking for too much (it took a month to finish that 6 seconds of animation, after all)

Netflix is releasing it in autumn.

Because normalfags and their stupid binge-watching meme.

Guessing he is being used for his Military Knowledge to make sure they don't get shit wrong. Worked on Girls und Panzer, Strike Witches, Girls Last Tour, Upotte, Haifuri in the same type of position.

>The Netflix model has also affected viewers' expectations. According to a 2013 Nielsen survey, more than 60% of Americans said they binge-watch shows and nearly eight out of 10 Americans have used technology to watch their favorite shows on their own schedule.[259] Netflix has successfully continued to release its original content by making the whole season available at once, acknowledging changing viewer habits. This allows audiences to watch episodes at a time of their choosing rather than having to watch just one episode a week at a specific scheduled time; this effectively gives its subscribers freedom and control over when to watch the next episode at their own pace. Netflix has capitalized on these habits by automatically playing the next episode in the series, removing the 15-second wait times of content on other streaming services. The structure that allows convenient viewing of episodes, as well as the intent to provide content of quality comparable to some broadcast and cable television programs, in effect often results in the viewer being hooked into the program by the time the next episode starts.[260]
Holy shit, it's true.

Based KyoAni

Binge watching is fine for older shit and even western popular dramas where every fucker and their dog watches it in a casual manner whenever they feel like but it really destroys the conversation in the anime community where if you aren't there to discuss the show within a few days of its release you will have missed to majority of discussion most of the time.

Saber?

well, it's KyoAni, and since they've only made 1 good anime so far (maidragon), extremely high chance that it will be godawful. but I guess fanboys will praise it anyway just because of scenery porn and pretty color. so easy to please.

why does kyoani have many fans anyway? moe? their moe isn't even good.

I think it really limits the popularity too, because people watch it and move on quickly rather than discussing it for hours a day week on week, creating memes, speculating, theorising and dissecting every part of the show.

For anime in the west that whole process gives the show so much advertisement and visibility which it just wouldn't be able to get through any other means otherwise besides people sometimes recommending something. For TV dramas and things they already have huge marketing budgets and TV ads and such so don't need to rely on the fans of something themselves pushing its popularity and spreading the show as there are many other prominent ways for it to be discovered.

Not to mention the seasonal model the anime community is used to also dissuades people from giving shows anything older than 3 months a watch when they could watch currently airing shows and be part of the community and discussion.

The indoor shots aren't as good as I hoped but it'll do. Really looking forward to winter.

waifu

Well, the problem can be solved by both simulcasting it and keeping it after it aired as VOD. You know, it's not like the alternative is going back to TV format schedules (i.e. if you miss the episode there goes your chance to watch it, unless you buy the BD).

*the only alternative

I doubt it will be something that affects this show too much besides getting coverage in western anime news sites in terms of reviews and things whilst it is airing.

This being KyoAni and such a high profile production I will be quite surprised if it doesn't get fansubbed and then pirated by 90% of people who want to watch it before Netflix even uploads a single episode.

Why make a battle robot look like a cute girl?

I hope there's good waifus in this anime.

Netflix? I wonder if Asenshi will save the day again.

From a Netflix perspective I don't think that works for them though. They want to maximise the amount of time you spend sat there watching their service I believe. I think their research indicates if you have one episode after another playing its probably much more likely you will just sit there and watch it all. As compared to having one episode a week then having to come back each week and having viewer drop off as people don't bother or forget.

I know it doesn't make complete sense from a logical perspective. You would think that if you are happy to binge something in 3 months then the episodes being released weekly wouldn't affect that but I can see how it would. You might for example be tempted into watching the first episode and the second and then forget to watch the third and never go back. It really isn't that logical at all but humans often don't behave logically.

Why not? are you homo or something?

Praying for UTW

>quality in PV
So this is movie "quality"? Low budget trash

We got our best girl

you mean Ramza?

Still looks better than 95% of TV anime PVs those days.

Doubt it. They're only sticking around for Apocrypha, aren't they?

The ugly CG backgrounds are out of sync with the people walking. So much for being "movie quality".

Have we entered the Nu-Nu KyoAni stage?

>Koe no Katachi
Government approved
>Violet Evergarden
Netflix
>Tsurune
NHK
>Liz and the Blue Bird
Arthouse movie disguised as Hibike

I didn't even watched PV.

>that shitty video and audio compression
>weird pale filter
I thought that was a shitty rip from NicoNico or something but holy shit. Did and intern upload it?

...

Literally me

So is the blonde girl a robot too?

I think it's just youtube shit quality.

...

DUBAI?

Honestly looks sort of boring. Looks like it's up to Trigger to save anime again next season

Why didn't KyoAni upload 1080p?

>Pronouncing a French name as the Brazillian counterpart.
This is the most striking detail in the PV. I really hope the drama is not the main focus though.

>kyoani is fucking great making cake character designs
>no series featuring lonely cakes
explain

I regularly watch high quality shit on Youtube, these days it's mostly the uploaders' fault and not Youtube's if the video/audio quality sucks. The compression fucks some things up from time to time, but not this badly.

>I really hope the drama is not the main focus though.

>Genre: drama
>I really hope the drama is not the main focus though.

On other sites, such as Vimeo, video's look much cleaner.

...

I've got some Teaching Feeling vibe here.

AOTY for 2018.

I'm not drama fun myself too, but if there is drama i like it too be more soft.

>battle robots
>cute
what was the manufacturer thinking? do they really think someone would get fooled by a qt girl with a huge ass axe?

I thought it was the other way around, in that they were using robots that weren't specifically meant for battle as soldiers.

>Boosts morale of friendly troops.
>Perfect disguise for recon/infiltration.
>Can be used as sexbot when the war ends.

Does it matter? I assume the strength remains the same, so the difference is, you have a smaller, likely faster target, who also looks pretty.

It'd keep morale up if nothing else.

I have no love for the story or designs, but I really hope it's good. At the very least I think it'll be cool to see Fujita as series director.
