Because it conditions you to accept whatever your shit lot in life is with no resistance because you're told God put the King in power by his will , and so if you want to go to heaven you'll obey his earthly Servant the King, even if he starves you, even if he beats you, tortures you, kills you conscripts your family, demands first night with your wife, etc. You accept it because you're conditioned to accept that this is God's will and that everything will be better when you die.
