Re: Creators

How would you fix this show?

No exposition dumping.

No masturbatory shit where they wax philosophically about what it means to be a creator.

Make it twelve episodes because they didn't have enough meaningful shit to cover two cours.

Charon replaces Selesia as one of the protagonists. Charon teams up with Souta and shows him how to act like a man and own up to his responsibilities. All the bullshit resulting from Souta concealing his meetings with Magane never happen.

Add microbkini scenes

Get rid of the shit characters like memetora, o my holopsicon and Alice. Make it a battle royal like Fate.

The second cour was a movie reformatted into 20 minute sections. They have to make a movie and present it the way it was meant to be seen.
>No masturbatory shit where they wax philosophically about what it means to be a creator.
It was too mundane tbqh, they should've gone ballz deep into pretentiousness if that was their goal.
This man knows his shit.
Charon and Souta slaying thots together would be fun.
o my holopsicon is the best thing ever and you should be ashamed. Wouldn't mind seeing a battle royale though, anime original is a huge bonus for that sort of thing

I think Re:Creators had good ideas at its core but fell short on execution. Removing the creator aspect or dumbing it down to a simple battle royale would basically be turning it into another show and not "fixing" Re:Creators. This is what I'd do:
>Drop the entire Souta/Setsuna plot. That was a weak point that dragged the show down and by extension made Altair's motivations really lame for someone with that much power.
>Make Selesia's creator the MC. If they really wanted to show us a creator's story, why not do it from the point of view of someone who knows what they're doing? He was one of the better characters in the show.
>Remove Magane and Rui entirely and cut back on Meteora's lines and relevance. If they're going to have exposition, do it in a way where one character doesn't drone on forever over static shots. Add some characters that are actually going to be useful.
>Give the battles more consequences. The pointless battles prior to the elimination chamber felt like they were just there to appease the battle royale crowd and not because they had any real purpose.
I could go on about the writing behind the individual characters but I've already said too much, this should be a basic foundation.

Less Soda.

>Give the battles more consequences
Something similar to the Selesia VS Mamika wherein the differences in their worlds/settings provides a nice contrast and their talks have actual relevance?

Mamika and Charon should have been partners from the beginning.

Remove Selesia. She's the only objectively bad character of the show.

By not making it.

Kill both Hiroe's waifus.

Delete this.

Would be more interesting if Charon and Selesia had come to the real world together.

They should have defeated Altair with the power of porn.

Is Altair bad at swordfighting?

no more drama bullshit
FULL BATTLE ROYALE

i don't mind a little drama, but they miss the chance of many multi genre battle royale, it only happened like a few times in the span of 2 cour.
See marvel vs capcom infi-
wait that was a bad example, well execution wise

Make it isekai instead of reverse isekai.

By not watching it.

Reminder that Altair is hard to animate.

less talking more actual things happening.
just delete every meteora scene

Change Selesia's class description from pilot into semen demon

mamika and yuuya

More fujo pandering, that works.

More fanart

Also his spin-off.

Make it a two movies remake. The first in Selesia's perspective with a prologue having the moment each character was pulled from their world from Altair up to the start of the ECF, she just to the audience what Meteora is doing each time to make it more concise. The second one entirely on Altair's perspective, starting in her "world", visiting the real world, realizing Setsuna died, deciding to take revenge, setting up everything and finally the ECF.
No, but her style is kinda awkward since she is so strong that stuff like proper posture and technique don't matter.

Soda as harem protagonist.

yuuya as harem protagonist

Charon as harem protagonist. Altair is the final boss he has to win over and add to his girls.
This fight was criminally short for how epic it was. Altair's VA nailed it

Well, for a fight having two characters with insta-win cheating skills it makes sense that it ends after just one round.

I would really have liked a lot more of "the logic of our world is a lot different than yours". We saw it in both the fight that you mentioned, and when the government found them almost immediately

The problem is that most characters there are from modern societies with "realistic" consequences to acts. Even Selesia seems to be from a magic society with modern standards and culture. The only ones outside of it are Mamika (kids show, everything simplified), Aliceteria (medieval setting), Altair (infinitely adaptable and had Setsuna's memories so it didn't matter much) and Meteora (came with a tutorial to the real world so it didn't matter).

1-The 4eyes to the trash. He is not enough relevant and is a stupid character
2-Less exposition. Much less exposition. Most of the things this anime said could be synthesized to half.
3-More human drama. Some characters discover that all they have suffered over years in reality was the work of some shitty author that did not give a shit about hem but the sales. There is a point in the history in which a character discover that in the novels (she is from the anime) one of his friends is going to die and she do not even starts crying. FTW?
4-Stablish some rules since the beggining instead of wasting time trying to discover them. Maybe all the characters teleported to our world could know what do they came for, for example.
5-More metacomentaries. Maybe the kuudere could frustrate as she is emotionally limited because of the fact that his character was not well written or was basic.
6-A part in which they could discover the Rule 34. That could be fun as hell

Don't censor the upskirts of best girl
Show fixed.

Have Meteora in her recap form the entire show.

Sup you consumerist fuck

We don't know how "realistic" the shows were. Also, even shows set in modern societies can have bullshit logic.

Either more SoL or more battle royale, less exposition.

Change it into an SOL about Magane working at a maid cafe

There was very little fish out of water in this. Personally I would like more but they serve more comedic purposes. They cut One More short, though including Miharu almost broke the story so maybe another scenario is necessary. The six month gap and the post ECF gaps are two periods which can be filled with a lot of different things.
Meteora should've aimed straight for the Souta dick
This is also true.
It would be nice to see how Blit'z and Rui's vision of the future contrasted each other for example, but the creators can't do everything. Maybe that's something to see for after when the spin-offs and setting information start coming through.

Loli is always the answer.

I remember saying that it could be fun to have a character from a future setting that was 40 - 50 years old. "It's 2017, where are the flying cars and lasers? And what the hell is the Internet?"

The problem is that he isn't really from the future but from a pseudo-future, and the average sci-fi writers doesn't have that much imagination and simply have more advanced versions of basically the same thing we already have besides the fantasy weapons, interplanetary travel, fancy UI and floaty things.

Altair literally killing animators was just a meme, right?

Yes.

Second season or give the first season a better pacing.

Being an animator kills the animators, Altair just accelerated the process a little.

Have a creator feel guilt over all the thinges they have done to "real" people.

That would go against the message of freedom of creation these stories must have. But I bet Magane's creation felt guilty at his last moments.

>It makes us question the sanity of the designer.
Maybe he thought they might appreciate the challenge, that it might spice up their day? Animators have to be challenged as well, otherwise their profession as a whole won't advance.

Give Altair an actual motive and personality, remove MarySueora

It's Meteora trying to get Altair changed into a tracksuit

She has a perfect personality though, of a cute chuuni princess. And a proper motive, she has nothing else to do in that story so might as well delete it.

More exposition on how the whole audience acceptance bullshit and Altair's powers work
It's because there wasn't enough that retards keep acting like Altair can defeat every other character ever when it's obvious even the gigalomaniacs of Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child can defeat her.

Gigalomaniacs are kind of a hard counter against Altair if they are in the real world and affecting the gods directly since it can dictate the acceptance. But that's sort of like saying anyone can defeat superman if they are fighting in a stage made of kryptonite, they wouldn't be able to fight directly if there are gods that believe that she wouldn't lose (not to mention creator Altair or creation Setsuna can create an Altair that can win).

Make Souta Altair's creator. Remove Magane entirely.

more Alice being cute.

By removing the timeline where Re exists.

Nothing. I was gonna say "remove Magane" (or at least have Sota yell at her in an inverse of his talk to Best Saber, something like "you are a shitty character loved only by edgelord faggots, kill yourself") but reading Sup Forums's unbelievably shitty suggestions - seriously? You want ANOTHER Fate more than you want to put up with the occasional slow pacing in your action-drama? - made me realize that my own ideas would presumably suck just as much.

Don't like it, you can ride Altair's giant overdesigned deviantart cock.

It's what happens when Zerotards hype themselves for Apocrypha and they get a shitty adaptation of already shitty source materiall (Most Fatefags who've read the LNs agree Apo LNs are shit and the worst Fate thing out there (or close to the worst, with it's rivals on the trashheap being Fragments, some GO chapters and Extella)). People end up looking elsewhere to satisfy that need of another Zero
I say Zerotards because everyone else knew Apo wasn't gonna be good
>shit LN
>adaptation by A1.

...

Turn the elusive beach episode into a reality.
I don't think anyone has the intention to fix anything, at worst it's an excuse to post.
They are both so beautiful. Bring her back ;_;

mamika x yuuya canon or takarada x aliceteria canon

People for some reason always expect battle royales to be good even though they pretty much never are. It's the alleged "potential" that the shows always wasted by the end.

>this is the delusion of Altairfags
Disgusting. And learn what chuunibyou means, she is not the chuuni one her creator is for making her like that. Altair herself has no personality and only a laughable motive.

>t-they hate the show because they're b-brainlets and wanted a battle royale
>this totally had a well constructed story with good characters, r-right guys?

This show would have been 15x better if she was the main villian.

And 15 times shorter as well, they just need not to talk.

She can get normies to do the talking.

xD

I wouldn't even mind the dialogue if it wasn't so god fucking damn awful. Meteora is a classic example of a character that's supposed to be smart but isn't written by a smart person.

>implying you need 24 episodes to have solid anime

The shorter=better

Give Selesia a role that isn't jobbing and if you're going to keep Charon, make him more relevant instead of having him lurk in the shadows until his anticlimactic battle. Shorten the story so instead of speculating and discussing what they're going to do with the birdcage (and inevitably failing), they go ahead and do it earlier. I don't even know how you would undo the entire ending with Altair and Setsuna going off to the yuri plane of existence but I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to work out.

Most characters became retarded when Shark is on screen though, like Yuuya losing Hangaku right after being told Shark's powers. It would have been more interesting seeing her provoke characters into losing to her powers or using assets she acquired from other characters to beat everyone rather than Altair just smacking them with OP Holopsicon.

Why? She made observations almost anyone could do on his own. She was no sherlock, and yuuya being dumber than she was doesn't make her a genius, especially when he articulated his thoughts much more concisely than she did every time.

Magane excepted, a lot of them were good, yeah. It was interesting to contrast the larger-than-life creations with the relatively withdrawn creators especially. Clearly a solid understanding of why fictional characters have such overdramatic emotions was at play. The "hero character joins villain because they want to save their world" thing was doing a bit too much work, sure, but arguably that's a pointed jab at the fact that "I dunno, they want to save the world I guess" being too common a motivation for heroes.

So yeah, if you failed to pick up on all this stuff, guess you are a brainlet. Sorry user.

>using assets she acquired from other characters to beat everyone
She can't do that though. Her sole ability is cursing people with her lies, for example she cursed Yuya to lose Hangaku which made so in his perspective she has Hangaku and can use against him, but people who are not cursed can't be affected by that unless she tricks them as well to deny that she has Hangaku. It's what she meant right in her introduction with her powers being too hard to use and which is why the only way she affected Altair was through an actual world-level reality warping (Meteora's Holopsicon) which could still be undone by the real holopsicon.

Of course, in an alternate story her powers could be different, but releasing that restriction would just make her Altair level anyway ("I'm a god", "No you aren't", "Now I am").

...

>She made observations almost anyone could do on his own.
That's exactly it, she keeps stating the obvious but the other characters are dumbed down on purpose to make her seem intelligent. On top of that her dialogue is monotone and drawn out because she is an infodump npc, but they overdid it to the point it becomes tiring to everyone watching and is just used as a plot device to pad the episode out.

>Clearly a solid understanding of why fictional characters have such overdramatic emotions was at play.
Oh you mean like the beautiful moments when Meteora's entire "character development" was two sentences about something that happened offscreen, Rui and Blitz not getting any attention and just being there with 10 minutes of shoehorned screentime in total, the pink haired chick being pointlessly added as a fanservice character and to joke about otaku but not being important to the story at all, Altair having the mentality of a toddler and screeching at and murdering a person that tried to talk to her?

Yeah, they are beautiful characters and obviously all the bad things about this anime were super fun meta jokes everyone just failed to see.

The part between beginning and climax is garbage.

Magane didn’t even fucking do with Stand she stole, moght have not happened at all then, for example.

Really, just needed to be cut down in writing, from 22 episodes to 15 tops.

Here's how you fucking fix this show; you spread the action out over the course of it's run and have a proper fucking arc structure with multiple antagonists. You don't even necessarily need to expand the cast really, just make Alice, Magane and Yuya into arc villains for a couple of episodes where they cause some problems which incites minor clashes throughout the show, eventually culminating in the climax we eventually got. Sota should have been Altair's Creator in my opinion as well.

The conflicts and the characters story arcs should all tie back to one or two of the stories main themes so it avoids turning into the cluttered mess of talking points it ended up being on occasion. Also, the exposition should have been more spread out so it doesn't feel like it was all dumped on us at once, have it shown to us through the events in the story as the characters themselves learn about the mechanics, because that's just good worldbuilding.

Like, why were we told about the whole World's Recovery Power and Great Destruction bullshit right at the start? That should have been reserved for in the middle of the series when they fight Altair and she starts flickering out of reality because she's breaking physics too hard. Have the laws of physics around her literally collapse into a story to show the consequences of abusing her powers. They should show us visually what all this jargon actually means instead of just telling us outright.

The weakening of the character's powers due to the laws of physics normalizing them or whatever should have been a major plot point throughout the show, and Altair and her gang of followers should have been low key terrorizing Japan throughout the show.

The Creations appearing should be a more widespread problem in the background of the story so that the small cast of standout characters doesn't stick out as much; there should have been a bunch of semi-generic extras doing there own thing like Magane, again to build a stronger setting.

I would've made Alice go FULL 100% slut with everyone MINUS Takarada, and have him like that because I fucking hate ESL autist-kun.

>Sota should have been Altair's Creator in my opinion as well.
But then you don't get Episode 21, which is the best part of the entire show.

He just wants the battle royale, creations everywhere from multiple factions, Altair not responsible for anything and just a villain out of many killing people around just to job and get defeated by the heroes in the end like usual.

Not necessarily. I left a few avenues for the story to be altered so that the overall plot could stay the same and still be improved significantly, like spreading out the action and the exposition throughout and having the worldbuilding presented in the events of the plot rather then just told to the viewer over a slideshow of characters eating.

I'd reduce Altair's power level so she can't just win automatically.

>plot could stay the same
Not really though. First it would be impossible to create the ECF in a setting where there is generalized terror by creations. Second there is no mystery for Altair if her creator is participating, he would know everything there is about her (like Setsuna knew about Altair). Which leads to how exactly could they pull an ending where she was the MC and talking her out of it solved everything if she isn't responsible for the creations becoming real, can't be persuaded by reviving her creator (and a "she was waiting her creator to stop being a faggot and convince her" would be much worse) and is actually causing direct deaths of real people in japan?

And besides that, it's made by a small studio. The amount of talking was key in keeping within resources and budget and it wouldn't be possible to have many more animated fights.

She didn't win automatically, Selesia, Rui and Aliceteria combo almost killed her.

The thing is, you don't have more fights, you just spread them out more. There were like five episodes of continuous fighting at the end, that wasn't necessary. Moreover, the mystery around Altair goes away halfway in the series and it's not even satisfying because the scene where everything was revealed dragged on forever.

There was mystery until the end though. Look how Aliceteria and Blitz could be easily controlled by their creators, that's what means no mystery. Yet they barely understood Altair until the end except for Souta (and it was still guesswork) and Setsuna who saved the world in 10 minutes.

Also, as I said, I provided several ways for the story to be improved without changing too much about the plot overall. All my suggestions should be taken separately from each other rather then altogether, since several of those were things I would only change to the exclusion of everything else I suggested.

Spreading out the exposition and fixing the worldbuilding is the major one though, because it also fixes the pacing and plot structure, which is the worst problem the show had.

>without changing too much about the plot overall
Not having Altair as the responsible for everything, bringing the fight to the foreground, completely changing the relationships of the main characters (Altair, Setsuna, Souta), making the climax impossible (who would cheer for a character murdering people around, not to mention spend 6 months making an anime with a war outside), making the whole conclusion impossible (having the impossible meeting cause a change of heart on Altair when her creator would be there all along) completely changed the plot. You even turned Yuya into an antagonist.

Literally all of those should be taken as separate from each other and my other suggestions, which you are persistently ignoring for no real reason. Like, I'm not even talking about any of that shit anymore, why are you bringing it back up when I'm not arguing it? I just said 'other ways that don't change the plot', why are you ignoring that and continuing to harp about the ways that do?

>Drop the entire Souta/Setsuna plot. That was a weak point that dragged the show down and by extension made Altair's motivations really lame for someone with that much power.
>Make Selesia's creator the MC.
These. Or if you must keep the bland faggot, then this one:
>Make Souta Altair's creator. Remove Magane entirely.

They already individually change a lot. The ECF was Altair's performance with hand picked characters due to the fact that she can twist but not create stories, all to give Altair the power to break the logic for her creator. There can't be ECF if she isn't behind the summoning (especially since copying her powers was the means to create it). There can't be ECF if there is a large war outside because people won't cheer to a monster destroying everything. If Souta is her creator that will fundamentally change the plot since the motivations will completely change (what would Altair even want?), as will the balance of power and they'll know absolutely everything about Altair from the start and they could even be able to make her a canon with the original artist (and Altair wipe them out before they try if she is just as powerful).

Explaining the elasticity with Altair glitching would just save one episode, but it's not particularly bad even though by then it wouldn't matter since they would be already moving to the ECF with the acceptance being the focus.

Remove edge; increase comfy SOL.

None of that fucking matters because I'm not talking about any of that. Actually forget that I ever fucking said anything about it, because you literally haven't fucking stopped talking about it, even though I dropped it immediately because even I don't believe in any of the plot changing adjustments. Stop talking about the plot changing suggestions, I am not talking about the plot changing adjustments, I'm not arguing in favor of them because they aren't relevant.

The biggest problem with this entire show was that it had a bad plot structure and pacing. The only shit that matters is condensing the scenes so the plot doesn't take as long to progress, spread out the action and the exposition so that the viewer doesn't get exhausted from over exposure, and overall fixing the worldbuilding so all the mechanical elements are adequately presented and represented throughout the plot.

I only ever suggested adding in a proper arc structure and other minor villains because the show felt like it lacked direction and focus in its themes, which I felt would be helped if there were smaller conflicts tied to those themes which resolved themselves independently of the main plot, which would be the justifications for the random battle scenes that occur at several points though the show and actually give them emotional stakes.

Also, if the show is going to dump exposition or wax philosophical about its themes, the characters should do it while they fight, because that's a better use of time. Then the time that they would otherwise use doing that would be better spent establishing the ECF in the lead up, because even though it was given a lot of time and setup, it still didn't feel like it was presented well. Too much meaningless brooding, it might as well have just been done in the background as much of it is done off-screen that we were just told happened.

Yes, the pacing was bad. And changing it without actually affecting the plot would be more than trivial, just make a flashback with Altair and Meteora experimenting with the universe instead of having second hand explanations, Meteora can be more concise in general, and no need to repeat stuff like in that onsen episode (just focus on character interactions). They had lots of hints of Setsuna and Souta situation to the point most people who paid attention had it figured out (besides Amazon not translating anything), they could just have those and show Souta rereading her final e-mail before deciding to participate in the ECF production.

You don't need to change all the motivations, start an open war or completely change the villain's work to fix it, just a good director adapting the pacing that seems like a book to one that is more like an anime without changing the plot.

>just make a flashback with Altair and Meteora experimenting with the universe instead of having second hand explanations
Not even that. Just remove the exposition scenes and have the explanations about approval and recovery power and the great destruction be shown visually in the places where it's actually relevant in the story as it stands like when the ECF is starting and they pull Altair into the Birdcage, with a character giving a one or two line reaction to give context.
