Cross Account

Does this shit have any chance whatsoever at surviving?
I've read upto the latest scanlated chapter yesterday and I find it to be a very solid manga.

I know this is in the brink of getting axed because this really isn't the kind of manga for the JUMP audience but I find it a shame if this gets axed while series like BokuBen where literally nothing happens get to continue.

I checked the author's previous work and I'm surprised he's so adamant in being published by JUMP when his series are all romance and could be much more successful in an another magazine like a shoujo magazine or something where they would be more appreciated.

bump

It always ranks last
It will only last a couple of chapters more

FINDS

This guy's girls are top-tier
He really should move to another magazine. He just isn't cut out for Jump.

Kind of excited for the next chapter now that the childhood friend has confessed. Beginning of the end probably.

is this the manga where the cuck MC pays an escort college girl everyday just to pretend they’re lovers?

Nah. What you described is Kanojo, Okarishimasu.

>is this the manga where the cuck MC pays an escort college girl everyday just to pretend they’re lovers?
Huh? Think you've got the wrong series.
This is about some Otaku who wants to be a Normalfag and has a crush on the most famous 16 year old actress in the world and unknowingly chats with her through social media(the actress is also an otaku)

And it's selling better than Cross Account too.

The art is good and also story but romance and not harem well get axed

Too bad the author is greedy enough to want to be listed in the shounen mag without making changes to pander to the target audience.

Yeah I'm following and liking both. I won't deny the shit taste though.

Elaborate.
And
>implying pandering is good
wew

Ignore the uppity faggots who say you had bad taste.
Cross Account from what I've read so far has been a solid series.

>publish manga in a magazine whose target audience will probably hate it
He had it coming. I wonder how he got the OK from his editor.

Shounen is the biggest market where even low performers get bigger sales than highest performers of shoujo and josei.

Dumbass, if you want to rated your food as vegetarian, the first consideration is make sure the ingredients you used fits their criteria.

Same goes for everything else.
Don't try to fit your shit in on people who hate your shit.
If you want to do soap drama which this is, when go for the genre and audience that love it.

Do you even read everything I wrote?
I literally said that this isn't suited for the JUMP audience.

Still hope it survives somehow though.

Agreed. So far it's been a decent and solid read.
It's just that I see how it takes so much suspension of disbelief to even think that an actress of such fame (as the story would like to portray) is... friendless and lonely? But hey, maybe I simply forgot how to be a teenager.

I am replying to the post, faggot.
Not everything is about you.

In the spirit of fairness, the first couple of chapters were extremely clichéd. Painfully so. It's understandable some people will judge the series harshly based on that.

I meant everything I wrote in the OP
I am too

Then why you even bother to ask me to expound the subject further when both of us already initially agreed on the same thing that this series don't belong on shounen?

This is fantasy. It's not meant to be exactly realistic..though stranger things have happened in the real world.

>In the spirit of fairness, the first couple of chapters were extremely clichéd.
So? That doesn't mean it's bad.
I mean Bokuben is just a shitty version of Nisekoi and people eat that shit up.

Just because people are biased against a particular series that doesn't mean it's objectively bad.

>hating BokuBen
How can you?

>don't belong on shounen
Shonen =/= Shonen Jump retard
There's plenty of Shonen magazines out there where this would work in

I don't really hate it but nothing happens in it. It's getting really stale.
It's like Nisekoi but with unfunny comedy and no story. I'm just indifferent to it but it says a lot about JUMP's audience when shit like this is popular.

I'm only reading it for /lit/ and /sensei/ at this point.

I wonder what's going to happen now that Mao confessed. It's not like he can just play it off. I don't think he's that kinda guy.

>/lit/ and /sensei/
Good taste user

Gotta give it to you. Not many are able to see past its flaws and is willing to defend the series' value.

In my ideal scenario Satsuki Nanoka would be experiencing something like the actress and puberty problems of the fem MC in the Bunny Girl Upperclassman. At least it gives her a more compelling reason to seek friendship semi-anonymously online.

>I'm only reading it for /lit/ and /sensei/
Those are enough reasons for me.

>/lit/ and /sensei/
Seconded

>Does this shit have any chance whatsoever at surviving?
If even you think it's shit, it stands no chance

Who'd you like to win at this point?

All I asked in a rom-com is a non-insufferable MC and a story that didn't started and centering around "muh quarrel" and I got Bokuben, and it has been like that throughout the series.
Those stuffs are literally what I miss in Nisekoi and I will always prefer Bokuben over Cross Account because it's and always comfy, without the need to worry about jumping the shark.

Yeah this is the kind of story that goes on young jump, sad because its actually good, still not happy about the mandatory tomboy-best girl- destined to lose in this.

I mean it's not amazing or anything it's just OK. It's just a shame that the author is misguided and decided to publish it in the wrong magazine. It kinda reminds me of old 90s romance manga a bit.

I don't see Nanoka having no friends as something that's unbelievable to be honest. She's the most famous actress in the nation and she's shown to have a very strict mother and that Nanoka feels like the most important thing for her is to meet her mother's expectations of her.
Plus the fact that she's an otaku means she can't really be her real self even if she had time for friends...she'd have to pretend to be a normalfag like she does in front of the screen to keep up the illusion of her image.

This is more of Magazine or Sunday romcom than Jump romcom.

Yes, sadly they don't get enough chapters and most chapters are wasted on worst girls like /sci/ and Sup Forums

>I wonder what's going to happen now that Mao confessed.
What chapter was this?

Last week's. Not translated.

I like Satsuki the best but she really needs to reveal herself to him before it's too late.

19

But Nisekoi did have "muh quarrel" with Chitoge/Raku drama around chapter 40 or so when Raku told Chitoge he hated her in the beach.

Bokuben is missing these kind of emotions. And the fact that the comedy is not as good and that there's no story hurts it even more.

Shit. I'm only on chapter 8 so far because I'm a filthy EOP.
I hope the scanlators catch up quicker.

Yeah methinks it's simply adulthood preventing me from fully sympathizing with Nanoka. I still like her though. Feels good to have gotten your opinion.

I am an EOP mostly too. It just so happens that there's hiragana everywhere so it's kind of easy to google translate what you can't understand via weaboo knowledge and then context clues the rest.

Sympathizing? I don't think that's the intent from the author here. It's not like Nanoka is some sort of victim or something it's just something that's a part of her.
She even starts to appreciate her actress job more when she meets MC and he almost confesses to her in the spot.

I remember when someone dumped the first chapter here
Everyone was talking shit about it, that manga is fucking awful

>But Nisekoi did have "muh quarrel" with Chitoge/Raku drama around chapter 40 or so
I was talking about chapter 1. It even stated my reason for not liking Raku.
I don't need drama if I have other reasons to enjoy rom-com, starting with sweet dynamics.
>the comedy is not as good
Agree to disagree etc.

user, if you want your soap drama, just read shoujo and josei.
Those are written to catered to you so why are you whining and reading what you already know years ago isn't catered to you?

Forgot pic.

I know getting a series in Jump can set you for life but I have to wonder why the fuck you'd do a romantic comedy in WSJ.

For every successful one that completes its run naturally, 10 get cancelled.

Guess sympathizing isn't the correct word either. It's not solely about her situation as an actress. It's more of what she wished, did and how the universe responded with serendipity - connecting her with a fan in a relatively similar situation. This in mind, I was pleasantly surprised she pondered with these thoughts too on a later chapter. I'm taking your word that stranger things than this have happened so I can rest my case easy.

The way you wrote made it seem like you liked Raku.

Either way how the hell is Bokuben gonna jump the shark when it never takes a risk.
It's just been repetitive and boring. It's so scared of doing the tiniest that that may upset fans like you that it's stuck in a rut with no creativity. This is why it's boring.

See this is what made Nisekoi work.
Yeah they quarreled a lot because they had a bad introduction with each-other but this is what makes it interesting. It's not all quarrels however since Chitoge shows her good side by finding his locket at the end of the chapter and later on Raku also helps Chitoge countless times and even risks his life for her at points so I don't see how Yuiga is a good MC but Raku isn't.

And heck the girls had much better interactions with one-another too. One of my favorite things was Tsugumi always calling Marika "Marika Tachibana" as if she was a stranger.

Bokuben isn't anything like Nisekoi. It's not hampered on a shitty plot like love lockets.

No you moron I want something of substance.
Bokuben is just Nisekoi's "filler" chapters but not as funny and it also doesn't work as well since we haven't really gotten to know the characters all that well. To add more that characters like /lit/ completely changed from their original personalities.

user, you are just being retarded and dense.

Well like I said you don't have to take it too seriously since this is more of a wish-fulfillment/fantasy. I think most of us read manga for escapism at least 80% of the time.

They had the shittiest interactions. All of them needed Raku just to get to interact with the other girls. At least the girls in Bokuben have other friend groups and don't need Yuiga to interact with one another.

Bokuben doesn't have a plot at all. It's being carried by waifupower.
The locket was just a metaphor for the past anyways and they don't even mention it anymore at some point until the final arc. The plot is more about the characters in general. We get all of details about the backstory of the Nisekoi characters while we don't get nearly enough of the Bokuben ones. I'd rather know something about Fumino's childhood or something rather than another repetitive chapter about how her stomach hurts and she needs to chew some medicine.

>They had the shittiest interactions.
They were pretty funny actually if you didn't skip the "filler" chapters. In particular the lying detection machine chapter was gold or the one with that love drug.

I hope this dont get axed soon. Its so much better than any harenshit.

I agree it's much better than Bokuben

I probably sounded like I don't like Bokuben but it definitely didn't sounded like I like Raku at all.
>Muh arrogance
>Funny
You realized Chitoge is trying to compromise from the beginning, right? Literally just ask a proper way to apologize in his way and they wouldn't get meaningless fights. Nothing wrong with Nisekoi aside of "lol amnesia" and Raku.
Don't skip chapter means we have to endure the drama, right? I don't have that problem reading Bokuben every week tho.

I think the characters overall in Bokuben are better. The only good girl in Cross is the main one and the MC is kind of bland.

What is this Keit-ai shit

>You realized Chitoge is trying to compromise from the beginning, right?
Chitoge was being just as dumb as Raku(she just said "sorry" and didn't even bother to try help him off the ground). They both were at fault. The fact that they hated each-other yet were forced to date was what made it funny. Like when they go to the cinema and Chitoge sleeps through the movie and Raku gets furious. Chitoge would rather be off trying to make friends and Raku would rather be with the girl he likes(Onodera) but they're forced to pretend they're dating instead. Eventually they start to warm up to each-other as they get to know each-other through the series.

We get it, you hate Bokuben and you're mad it's doing better that this shit.

>Don't skip chapter means we have to endure the drama, right?
Nisekoi doesn't have that much drama. It's most just comedy chapters past the Romeo and Juliet chapters. In fact most of the drama is not relationship related it's more stuff like Ruri's grandpa dying in that one arc for example or Haru falling in love with Raku but then having to sacrifice her feelings because of her sister, Chitoge's and Marika's relationship with their mother etc. stuff like that.

I don't get where people get the idea that Nisekoi had a lot of relationship when most of it is personal/family drama which contributes to character development.

So any chance this just moving to another magazine instead of being axed?

There's only 2 girls in Cross while Bokuben has 5 or 6 with only 2 of them being good(sensei and lit).

The MC of Cross might be a loser otaku but Yuiga is just moebait and not much else. Either way both MC's are boring and not the shining points of their series.

>We get it
>>>/reddit/

What's the last JUMP series which switched magazines?

You never believed the memes did you?

no reason to since no one likes it

Is it that bad?

if you think about it those are still pretty good odds

It's tanked in the rankings and early indicators for the first volume aren't good. Might have better luck in another magazine, like the Blue Flag author

Latest ch of cross account is like 19 or 20. Translations are pretty far behind.

it's a shitty mc with two good good girls, no wonder if it flop

From what I have read the main issue with this manga is that it has no conflict other than Satsuki being an otherworldly idol. The issue with the MC being ignored gets resolved in the very first chapter after all, and the rest is just pointless drama. I haven't read past chapter 8, but it doesn't seem that it got another interesting setting after that, so maybe that's why it's flopping.

The translation will have plenty of time to catch up after this shit get axed in few more chapters to complete third volume

The ones that succeed tend to hit above average sales and get successful multi-season anime and get international attention. Jump romcoms are never the best in quality or even in sales, but if they succeed, they make the author very rich.

It's a gamble but it pays off if you're lucky.

2 transferred out back in 2014 one after another. Soul Catcher(S) and iShojo.
iShojo found a home there for 3 years after leaving the main magazine, and it got transferred because it's theme of phones fit very well with the online format of Jump+, Cross Account would fit there too.
