There have always been shills on Sup Forums, the problem is that the DS and TRS took their supporters out of Sup Forums and into their own echo chambers to grow their platforms, with the result that it was other pro-whites that became the enemy, instead of shills lying on Sup Forums.
That they started to think of themselves as big brained nibbas that should command the alt-right foot soldiers from their own shows and platforms, instead of being one of the footsoldiers themselves, is also a reason the fewer bother to support them.
