The Kurdish administration of Syria’s Afrin region indicated on Sunday that Kurdish-dominated forces fighting Turkey-backed groups in the area will shift from direct confrontation to guerrilla tactics.

As the Syrian Army continues to advance liberating from terrorist groups new towns in Eastern Ghouta, President Bashar al-Assad reportedly visited the region and met with soldiers and freed civilians.
The Syrian news agency (SANA) reported Al-Assad toured Sunday the front lines in Eastern Ghouta and congratulated soldiers and officers for victories achieved to end the suffering of Ghouta families, and rescue them from terrorists who were using them as human shields.
Quoting field commanders and army police, SANA also reported that over 5,000 civilians, mostly children and women, left Eastern Ghouta Sunday through safe corridors, as army units secured their exit to safe areas that were prepared to shelter them.
Al-Assad told the military the Syrian people are pride of every soldier who has carried the gun to defend his homeland and pride of the field achievements being gained to restore security and stability.
He also extolled the military for rescuing Syrian citizens from the claws of terrorism and its supporters.
During the tour, President Al-Assad also met a number of families who left areas still controlled by terrorists.
'The state is responsible for protecting Ghouta families and liberate them from the terrorists' grip and restoring security and stability to them and to the region,' the President was quoted as saying.

When asked if his mission wasn't to deal with the “Iranian-Assad-Russia problem” by Senator Lindsey Graham, Votel answered that they were currently not pursuing such objective, and that their main efforts were focused on defeating the Islamic State group.
