It's heavy in sodium which will be very unhealthy with long-term consumption. Consider that most of the SNAP recipients are children, the elderly and the disabled. How are you seriously going to justify putting those people's health at risk? With that much sodium you'll be putting grandpa in the hospital within a month. We might save money, initially, but in the long run we'll be spending more money on healthcare via Medicaid and Medicare. And I don't think it's worth it just to stop a few cases of fraud. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if were lobbying from private companies to get free contracts from the government, after all somebodies gotta deliver all the boxes around to these people and whoever the middle man is going to be they're going to profit from it.
I'm not saying that military funding is entirely wasteful but it's not a lot of transparency to where the money goes and what it does exactly. I know this was last year but there was that thing about the US government spending $90 million on airstriking that airport tarmac that got repaired the next day.
