Correct it's the volume you expose it to. Water has a high thermal transference capacity 7 joules per gram. So it's more efficient to just pump water in because ots cheep

nitrogen gas is of course an excellent purge agent, but liquefying it as a cooling agent is a different story. we store liquid nitrogen and convert it to gas, the cost is unreal.

You can get something really cold with liquid gasses, but it doesn't take that much energy to heat them up.

Because heating up nitrogen too fast will just explode (again) spreading more radioactive material. Also, how are you going to get millions of gallons of liquid nitrogen into the reactor?

It doesn't matter because Israel planted dirty nukes in the nuclear plant. Their "IDF" (Mossad) connected security team was hired only months before the "accident," in which their 3D Camera helped trigger a huge breach in the main reactors. Israel had these massive, internet-connected 3D cameras in every building (certainly a breach of any Nuclear codes)... Yet no footage has been seen except of robot VHS at 4 FPS.

Thermal shock indeed. If your poured liquid nitrogen on a melting reactor core you would have the sort of dirty bomb style explosion that would make a dirty bomb look like that bit of gasoline dribble after fueling your car.

Because it would be expensive and impractical to keep large quantities of liquid nitrogen lying around just in case a reactor starts to go into meltdown. Liquid nitrogen is not exactly the sort of thing you just keep lying around in massive quantities. And remember, when it comes to cooling, the volume of the available coolant is as much of a factor, if not more, than how potent a coolant is. One thousand gallons of cold water is a better coolant overall than one gallon of liquid nitrogen. At least for situations where the thing that needs cooled is well over room temperature.
