Speaking unironically and completely honestly from the viewpoint of somebody with a large amount of experience with hypnosis, it could work in theory, and technically speaking they could TRY to use it for other stuff, but whether or not it would work is a completely separate story that is almost definitely "No" unless the individual is way too trusting of Samsung/the hypnotist in the recording, for some reason, but even then it's questionable whether or not any more insidious goals would actually be met. Plus, all it'd take is one person just having a look at the audio to find out if anything insidious was going on. It'd be insanely easy for the entire thing to crumble into a pathetic mess if anything weird was going on, since it's such a large company. Back. For context, I've never been hypnotized before, and this worked in SOME way.
I don't know if it really worked how it said it did, but I'll describe the experience.

Weird. I may try it after work. I've always been extra spooped about hypnosis since I read Wisconsin Death Trip. It's a book of old photos and excerpts from the newspaper headlines of the 1800s in Wisconsin. Lots of people who ended up going mad and drinking a bottle of lye or throwing their kids down a well were found to have been hypnotized not long before the event.
My wife is a trained hypnotherapist and basically hypnotism is just helping you control your own mind, it's not going to do anything to you if you don't want it to because you have to be actively letting it. Which is why even obviously beneficial things like hypnotizing someone to stop smoking don't work every time because even though the person really wants to stop for health reasons deep down they don't for other psychological reasons.
To force someone to be hypnotised you need to do something to force them into a suggestible state against their will first, like shooting them up with drugs or keeping them awake for a week.
The idea of doing it subliminally is retarded because the only reason it works is because you are told what you are going to be thinking and are then expecting it, you get "primed" that it's going to work. Kind of like a placebo, if I tell you a sugar pill is morphine you'll probably feel a bit high after taking it, but if I sneak a sugar pill into your mountain dew you'll feel nothing because you're not expecting anything so can't trick your own mind into thinking it's real.
