F/SN is a better-written fantasy epic than LoTR. It at least has some interesting characters and plot twists.

Lord of the Rings is pretty much good guys vs bad guys, power of friendship, and nothing interesting or thought provoking ever happens in the whole books.

I don't remember that scene, is it from a dead end?

Nasu was initially going to have an Ilya M ero scene

read tolkien

If you fell for that bait I feel sorry for you

I have. It's crap.

>b-buh muh father of fantasy
Fantasy is older than Tolkien, he's not the father of it. Maybe he's the father of fantasy fiction. But then again, A Midsummer Night's Dream was written long before Tolkien could write. Western Tolkienist fantasy is too bland in its core.

why did he back off in the end though?

I unironically think that. Tolkien might have been the shit back in the day when fantastical literature wasn't popular, but the stories that Nasu tells have much more interesting characters, and convoluted plot that puts you on the edge several times.
When you compare the work of the two, Tolkien is flat out boring.

Probably didn't had the time and the vn was already too long.

Yeah. I think she ends up putting Shirou's soul into a doll so they can be "together forever" or something.

Nasu doesn't compare when you look at the broader picture. Tolkien has a well-developed Christian allegorical overarching idea, Nasu has a convulted juvenile philosophy kind of deal.

Everyone of Nasu's works (the main ones at least) is a pathological study, a remark on literary genres and a pretty solid fantasy fare. Hell, even his more campy stuff like FGO is thematically coherent (the role of history and memory in the progress of mankind).

>F/SN is a better-written fantasy epic than LoTR

I like to think of Nasu as the Stephen King of Japan. A writer whom everyone acknowledges as come up with some cool concepts and stories that were later adapted into great shows/movies, but whom even fans acknowledge has very, very flawed writing.

It's pretty well established that Nasu is the Stan Lee of Japanese porn games.

I think the gook Tolkien was the Guin Saga dude

>getting that excited from a little girl sitting in your lap
Is Shiro literally a pedophile?

Even a hack writer like Ryukishi07 has written more interesting stuff than Nasu, you guys are truly delluded.

...

Ignorant.

Well this was suppose to lead to a rape scene originally and IIia was sitting on Shirou's crouch instead of just one leg but for some reason Nasu chickened out of the lolicon route but barely rewrote the dialogue. Lucky for the lolicon peds out there the Prisma IIiya franchise has no such reservations

>Fatefags unironically think this
Fate origins is based on an eroge with cringe worthy dialogue. Remember that.

the weeb brainlet at work

Try at 0.5x speed.

>Tolkien fanboys crawling out of the woodworks
Shoo shoo, back to Sup Forums

I know this just bait but I literally spat out my water when I read this. This is very good bait should be able to trigger alot of people.

>McKellen is going to die in the next few years

It's just not fair.

Christopher Tolkien won't be able to keep the rights for eternity. There'll be a LotR anime soon enough.

>Fate is more fun and entertaining than Tolkien!
>b-but Tolkien is deep and more broad intelectually-wise!1
>But Fate also deals with psychological themes, and their characters are much more empathetic and real.
>m-muh fedora tipping
I guess Nasu won after all.

Somebody appealed to his dignity

>know it's bait thread
>Still get hooked
Yea, some random asian porn game author is the equivalent to the oxford professor that wrote some of the most successful books of the last 100 years.

there's nothing wrong with suicide so you can die in just a matter of hours

Suicide is the most pathetic thing someone can do. Literally to much of a coward to face life .

>Sales = Quality

Epic, simply epic.

Tolkien books literally started as bedtime stories for his kids.
Can't wait for the Sup Forums threads and the memes.
>this is just shonenshit
>muh power of the friendship
>ghosts asspull

>all these non arguments

>sex=bad
>EOP commenting on dialogue he can't read
Are you 12?

>oxford professor
>successful books
Using an argumentum ad verecundiam is so pathetic I never thought tolkienfags would ever appeal to it.

Christopher already stepped down. The next generation of Tolkeins are in charge now and already made a show deal with Amazon.

>there are likely to be faggots in this thread that seriously doubt the greatness of Tolkien

>shonenshit
O, MY EAGLES
I wonder if Frodo-poster will return.

Bruh, I just want to visit Gensokyo.

>already made a show deal with Amazon.
This sounds troubling. I'm still not sure if Man in the High Castle was a fluke or deserved success.

>implying Fate is deep and that the sex add anything other than cringe worthy dialogue
fatefags being denial, just look at your shit gaccha game.

see

>why didn't Gandalf used the eagles to transport Frodo and the ring since the beggining?

Not an argument. Fate is just waifubait.

OP here. I'm shocked it's getting this much attention. Jesus christ guys I was just shitting around. It's just for fun, not to actually pick on strangers. Fix your miserable lives

>tolkienfags being utterly rekt
I love Sup Forums

Still superior to Tolkienshit.

The original plan was two-part VN, that would use similar narrative as Tsukihime with its Near side and Far side routes.
First (near side like) part was supposed to be named Fate/Stay Night and include Fate route and Unlimited Blade Works routes. Second (far side like) part was supposed to be named Fate/Other Night and include Sakura's and Illya's route.
But when Nasu was writing Sakura's route, things began to take a delay and he ended writing more than originally planned. They then have just two choices. Either release parts separately or cut off things. Eventually was decided that two separate releases for each part would be too expensive, so it was decided that plot points from Illya's route will be incorporated into Sakura's route, which gave birth to Heaven's Feel route. And the whole thing will be released as single VN, named Fate/Stay Night. And that what we know now.

>gacchashit better than an award winning franchise

You aren't really arguing that the writing of fate is better than LotR? I'm willing to give you the faggy hiking songs and poems but you have to be a complete retard to think that nasu's writing is anywhere near as good as tolkien's.
>Hurr characters are only le good vs le evil
That's not even remotely close to the truth, most of the character's have their own struggles beyond "good vs evil". Theoden's character for example has so much more to offer than that, Frodo and Sam both developing sympathy for Gollum or at least an understanding.
The argument that the good vs evil plot makes it simplistic is just wrong.

>loses argument so he has to jump from FSN to something else
Stop, you're making Tolkienfags look more pathetic than they already are.

I don't care if this is bait or not, this is the most disgusting statement I have ever seen on this board

Why is it disgusting?

Berserk is more comparable to Tolkiens work, stop comparing light fantasy to dark fantasy. Fate is nothing worth but its sexy girls.

The truth isn't pretty.

Tolkien wasn't a good storyteller like Nasu is simply because he was more interested in playing with the languages he created than actually creating a neat story.

Jumping off this, do you remember the day when Shiro & Illya got groceries and when Shiro asks Illya if they can live together she says its too late but maybe it could have happened if he asked earlier?

That part always confused me since that isnt really possible in HF. Maybe it could have been related with something in her cancelled route?

Berserk isn't comparable to Tolkien AT ALL.
Berserk is heavy on the drama and the human aspect. LOTR is a shonen adventure.
Tolkien loves his world building to the point of his books being boring. Half of the Silmarillion read like a bible, with one or other actual story in the middle.
Meanwhile Miura said in interviews that he wasn't interested in creating a whole universe like Tolkien did, because that's for nerds. That's how you get characters simply named "The Count", "The King of Midland", etc. The worldbuilding of berserk is done only when he needs to detail the story of someone.

What was Rin’s tax allowance?

>Half of the Silmarillion read like a bible, with one or other actual story in the middle.
What did you think the purpose of it was?

>all these genrefags
Both LoTR and Fate suck ass. get a taste.

Based Fingolfin.

As I said, HF is essentially what originally was supposed to be Sakura's route, but with few things from canceled Illya's route incorporated. For example, I'm pretty sure that Illya saving Shirou at end of True end, is something that was originally supposed to be one of endings her route.

Weakest bait I've seen all day, and I have already visited both JoJo and DBS threads.

>Tolkienfags is also a Jojofag and DBSfag
Can't make this shit up.

I miss these charts.

Probably... not.

Shingeki no Kyojin is better than Tolkien too.

I only read low country chamber dramas, Islamic mathematical treatises, and futurist concrete poetry.

This was the worst news I've ever gotten. They're doing it as a response to GoT. I can't imagine it's going to be good unless they see GoT as fantasy (instead of Dark lowfantasy political drama)

The only decent idea I've heard is a series following the two blue Wizards
