At the same time I would show him that I don't encourage this behaviour/feeling/orientation. But with the right timing. I guess he would feel rejected. Fact for me is, there are types of homosexuality that are not genetic at all. However I can't say that it's 90% or 50% or just 2%. I think gays should live free in society as their self-damaging behaviour is more like a drug addict and well we let those people live their lives freely. I only think trans- etc. is clearly a mental illness to a degree where self-damaging behaviour is really apparent and direct.
Problem with everything is, most sane approaches had been hijacked by a (maybe well-meaning) Christian group with this whole "pray away the gay" stuff. In a loving way, not talking about Westboro Baptists here. But the damage has been done. At the same time however nobody in control wants this sane approach to be spread. The media, politics etc.
I think "reperative therapy" is a real thing. That is not the homosexual orientation, feelings or the homosexual person are dysfunctional in themselves or needed to be "repaired", No. But the homosexual drive is trying to repair something in that person. Not the person as a whole but a smaller area inside that person. Most of the time: masculinity. Further I'm talking only about this type of homosexuality. Again know knowing the % of this type and maybe if there is a genetic type also (however identical twin studies show that it maybe is not as common as we think, because 100% identical twins one was homosexual the other was not). So looking at homosexual *feelings* (and we act upon or feeling, denying them or acting out on them, with more or less some thoughs about those feelings), I think there is evidence that a person with homosexual feelings is yearning for contact and approval in/by the same-sex (mostly also same-age) peer group. Age doesn't matter, peer groups still exist with like beign 70 years old, even if one doesn't leave the house. So this type of homosexual feeling person I'm talking about is craving for contact and approval of the same-sex peer group, while *at the same time* actually being terrified of the idea. Many gay people experienced anywhere before puberty forms of rejection and bullying of the same-sex same-age peer group and *at the same time* rejection by the father / family male role model. While again *at the same time* not having another male role model to look up to. Most of the time there are double binds included. That is: The father maybe is loving and supportive in any regards per se, but maybe just supportive with materialistic things or money-wise supportive and emotionally the person knows the father loves him, but a.) the father is unable to really make this shown and felt by the person or b.) the person can't feel it or needs over-average more of that and the father just can't provide enough with his persontality or most often c.) a mixture of both. This isn't too blame all fathers. This also isn't too blame more sensitive boys (sensitive in the first place is =/= "effeminate" or pussy or afraid by loud noises, - sadly often this character attribute often turns into something like that in that social environment). In fact most often it is just tragic coincidence. At least it often looks like that.
So the homosexual feeling male who (at least felt he) got rejected before/during puberty by same-sex parent plus same-sex same-age peer group, this person *really* wants to connect. But the real or perceived rejection has already taken its toll.

So the toll is that the person is so hurt that the person can't connect anymore. At least is quite heavy afraid about to connect with other same-age males.
But the inner craving for to want to connect is still there. But the person rejected most males entirely. And we really can't blame this person. Or can we? I don't think so. So this person's psyche and consciouness/sub-consciousness already is searching for a workaround to that problem. Seeking male approval and male friendship while not having to endure the terror of trying to get contact with those images perceived of normal same-age same-sex peers. And that is where the gay community comes into play. They are meeting other males in a sense of "as if".
And when you first look at it, the first tries of these persons, it is not degenracy at all. If we assume both are having their first meetings. (Not talking about gay bars right now where youngsters and noobs are considered "fresh meat"). But let's assume two homosexual males being right at the beginning of their homosexual career: There is no degenarcy at first. They are genuinely happy to meet each other and have contact. They sit and talk and so on.
That is the tragic part: Now they have connected male contact. Even if both don't consider themselves "male" or even rejected masculinity entirely and developed feminine behaviours. But still we have two males here having established a connection. Tragic is they don't know consciously that all they ever wanted was male contact.
The destructive part of homosexuality starts with sex. That is where this at first little weird, little too intimate male contact, but still healthy male contact breaks apart. But again it is not so much degeneracy of those persons. Their cravings for masculinity are that strong that they are trying to soak it up from the other male.

Gays want to feel masculine. But at the same reject it. But they want it. That alone explains this whole fetish / stereotype / trope of gays about e.g. police men, men in uniform or athletes. Sure many of them can be are attractive and also a heterosexual person can admit that. With non gay-males that is only a aesthically comparison, and turned into (most of the time) healthy competition on the market. When a non-homosexual male starts going to the gym because he found it to be attractive on someone else, that is because he wants to stay competetive. Maybe he just likes to have this appeal, too. He is able to adopt characteristics of maleness of other males into his own masculinity. If he wants. WHILE not giving up his own identiy. Basically we could call this inspiration. Healthy inspiration and competition.
While in the homosexual world this turns into trying to replace their identity entirely. Inspiration stops right there were it becomes imitations. Also it happens often in a form of becoming really self-loathing.
