As a teacher I can explain these. You see, the school book market is a cruel one and if you want education system gibz then you must make "Oscar books" as we call them. These are shamelessly shilling "trending" stuff like diversity and such (few years ago it was all about history, before that it had been about the EU, etc.). If you have an Oscar book then the state will order, like, a few thousands of them at extra cost, make you rich for a while, and the books will collect dust in some remote storehouse until recycled or burned.
It is a clever scam, essentially.
