Churchill knew. FDR knew. That's why the important and unreplaceable carriers were sent to safety before the attack

> It just seems too convenient and out of nowhere
that was the point of the attack retard

This.

But surely Japan would have known attacking us would only get us further involved in the war which would fuck with their odds of success right? So why were they pissed enough to bomb us?

>So why were they pissed enough to bomb us?
Do you have homework due tomorrow or something? Read a book, nigger.

FDR/Col. Mandlehouse intentionally provoked the attack, to enrage the US citizens and provide a pretext, so the US could join the war, for (((The Brain Trust))).

While the old shitty fleet was being hammered at Pearl Harbor, all the new and ready war machines were waiting at Midway, to quash any real threat.

>same as it ever was

America after the battle on Okinawa:
14,009 dead to 20,195 dead
12,520 killed in action
55,162 wounded
>A little too convenient?

>Respect the troops liberals!!

History books tell Japanese head officers said it was stupidly dangerous, but they still did it. No matter how you look at it it was stupid and dangerous. And they did it... Fucking why?

>Came out of nowhere
As evidence by what? The Pacific fleet was moved to Pearl Harbor specifically because it was becoming apparent war with Japan would begin at some point.
Japanese admirals like Yamamoto and Nagumo knew full well they could not win a war against the US. Their higher ups and politicians didn't care about that reality. The attack was supposed to knock the US out of the war for around six months to allow Japan to take over and solidify its rule in the Pacific, which would then mean the US suing for peace. Their plan was never going to actually defeat the US.

They knew Japan was going to attack, but not where. Pearl Harbor was thought immune to large-scale air attack.
That's why the carriers were out in the days before and during the attack; they were training or delivering planes to island outposts.

no there's too much japanese evidence, they were really proud of it. It's too bad they didn't capitalize on it and send their fleet to occupy hawaii. They could've captured several american ships and floated a bunch of others which were sunk in the attack. America would be over a year away from being able to retaliate with their pacific fleet wiped out.

Japan was not at all capable of invading and occupying Oahu.

They barely had the supply lines to pull off pearl harbor how the hell would they do that?

yes

Here is a lecture by Webster G. Tarpley. He outlines how it was a plot by Churchill to force the US into WWII.

the supply line issue you're talking about is having carriers too far away, the american fleet was divided and moved away. If they had stuck with the entire imperial navy at oahu they'd've been able to commandeer several american vessels and their airforce could've landed afterwards instead of kamikaze attacks.

Also there was 4.5 million gallons of fuel at pearl harbour, in our timeline this was never destroyed and would've fueled the japanese fleet for a long time.

The Japs had successfully used torpedos in shallow water a few weeks prior. Military intelligence?

Duško Popov was a double agent for British intelligence Germany had in the US and he warned Hoover the Germans were asking about the defences of Oahu and Hoover didn't tell anyone or act on it.

It was every bit as real as 911

Huge navies require fuel retard. The task force that got to pearl harbor was fucked up with storms and destroyers in the fleet barely made it without running out. And naval doctrine says that it's a bad idea to risk the entire imperial force on one super risky attack.

read

the fleet that launched the planes for the PH attack was refueled just before the attack

They still had to travel long distances to get to position and smaller ships have lower range. Also naval fleets can't just scavenge like armies can. Let's say the ENTIRE IJN makes it to pearl harbor (with some losses from weather and battle and mechanical failure making ships turning back) then they have to refuel with foreign equipment with sailors and ship mechanics, not dockworkers. Then they have to use foreign equipment and start the refueling process. Sounds like a good way to lose your entire fleet in exchange for some old planes and Battleships.

Japan is the world's wildcard.

They love starting fights they know they can't finish because they love fighting to death. We will see Japan instigate another war out of nowhere. You'll see.

The Japanese fleet movement was caught on Australian radar. Warnings were disregarded by FDR the American people needed a catalyst.

No don't be dumb. Its what the japanese did to the russians at the start of the Russo Japanese War and it was very effective. Had our Aircraft carriers been there and damaged it would have taken at least another year to win the war. Now, if you are asking if FDR/the government might have been aware of possible attacks, that is a whole other question to which I respond maybe.

Look up Operation Snow.
