Why does Prussia have a bad reputation on here?

They seem like British continentals. They subdued the Slavs (Irish and natives) and made their part of the world relevant. They’re also Protestant.

>They seem like British continentals
They were like Germans, because they were just that

>They were like Germans
More like they were REAL Germans actually. The current Germany origin was Prussia. There are no germans now because Soviets forcibly moved all the Germans from there to west to make some lebensraum for Polacks (who were moved from current west Ukraine to make more lebensraum for Soviets themselves)

Prussia was treated as a strong and important ally of Britain during the XIX century due the Seven Years War and Napoleonic Wars.

This changed during WW1, where british propaganda started their bullshit about "evil prussians", "muuhhh militarism (because only an idiot wouldn't invest in a strong army when you border both France and Russia and they are allied).

Basically, the more you study british story the easier to hate it becomes.

ISRAEL #1

Prussia is Germany without Bavaria

>tfw unironically 75% prussian and seeing the current state of goymany

Attached: 1507209631770.png (324x350, 120K)

So the Prussians stopped being German just because they didn't live in Prussia anymore?

>The current Germany origin was Prussia.
fuck off slavoshit, the german people has existed since the establishment of the holy roman empire.

>They’re also Protestant

Well technically the true Prussians we're all but eradicated by the teutonic order or we're assimilated , but the Germanic/Baltic hybrid that became the modern Prussia was amazing , the Pinnacle if human Gene pool ( prussianboo here)

They stopped because prussian culture was basically eradicated.

It lives on in our hearts , we need to create another Prussia

Because they are anti-Nazi

Without Prussia there's no Germany.

What about people living in West Prussia (West Germany)?

Culturally they stopped being Prussians, yes. But their genetics didn't change because of that.

I agree.

It’s like Northern England or Northern Ireland.

Full of alphas but poor as fuck and prone to violence.

Mostly assimilated, the true Prussians if you want to be pedantic .. they we're a small culture of farmers that got cleansed or converted in the forced conversion of the pagans , but many converted and assimilated. That's an oversimplified version but the culture grew from there

What bad reputation?

Huh?

I like the GDR.

>They seem like British continentals.
Nope. The British are more moderate and restrained while Prussia was a country modelled after knights, based on duty, loyalty and customs of warlord aristocracy which treated war as a training to improve one's character and spirit. They were more radical in their lifestyle and they despised the british cult of mammon and saw german warrior as a role model which contradicted the British

pushback against prussiaboo LARPing

It was prussian culture that made Germany in a fearsome power. It was masculine and authoritarian - a quality that instilled diligence and discipline which often lead to greatness - and that's why the ((Allies)) destroyed it.

A prussianized Germany would always show the european countries what they could've been if they had cast away the shackles of mediocrity.

To complement, actual native german population is around 60 million, which, by discounting the polish population, should be equal to the native german native population of the German Empire circa 1914.

This means German population didn't grew in the entire century.

A beautiful and honorable culture , warrior honor cultures > merchant cultures

Agreed, the Germanic people are the niggers of Europe.

GET OUT OF THIS THREAT OUSTLANDER

Isn't it obvious? Because Prussians are niggers

Nordics get out , REEEEEEEEEEEE

>Real Germans
a mash up of Balts and German soldiers make up "real Germans"? Lmao

This it's the kind of lower behavior you can expect from people that don't respect prusianism.

Someone should made the Chad Prussian Mutt vs the Virgin Germanic Purebreed meme

He was "a representative of a reactionary class-line within German history", and "he personally contributed to the role of Brandenburg-Prussia as the most baleful among the states on German territory". Thus the verdict of GDR-Historian Heinz Kathe in 1978.
He was "the first protector and promoter of human rights in the 18th century", and he "made Prussia the most progressive state in Europe", said the federal German publicist Wolfgang Venohr 1988.
Rarely was a personality seen more ambiguously than the "Soldier King", Frederick Wilhelm I of Prussia, who ascended the throne of the then still young Kingdom on 25th of February 1713. Henceforth he considered himself both chief economist and field marshall of the country. The latter extended over more than 1000km from Kleve, left to the Rhine, right up to the Lithuanian neighbour city Memel. This rather unorganic, seemingly random, construct required protection more than anything else in order to survive, which meant mustering all of its strengths.
Frederick William I deliberately sacrificed courtly splendour for power, for things that were "genuine", as he frequently put it. Within few years he turned the under-developed country that predominantly relied on imports into one of Europe‘s biggest exporters. One one hand, there were few countries with taxes as high, but there were even fewer where the state spent so much on infrastructure and subsidies. Some historians go as far as to argue Frederick William I was an early Socialist. Wolfgang Venohr called him a "Revolutionary on the Throne".

all the virtues which account for german's work ethic were the invention of the prussian military

I know, I just wonder (((why))) that is though.

You do realize that Belgians also descended from Germanic people? Or are you a shitskin?

Germans have always been mixed with slavs, balts, celts, huns, etc.

The country needed educated people, thus the King decreed as early as October 1717 compulsory education for kids between five and twelve years of age – unique in contemporary Europe (although admittedly some Prussian villages did not even have a school at the time). And the country needed immigrants. 1732 the King offered refuge to 25,000 protestants from Salzburg, who had been driven from home, in East Prussia. He paid for the travel costs, gave them lifestock, seeds and tools. The mountain dwelling Austrians worked a marvel in a country that was still mostly consisting of primeval forest and swamps.
However, one should not imagine Prussian immigration politics to be handing out citizenship all too randomly. The state did not need just people in general but workers and producers. Societally marginalised groups were quite unwanted. In Prussia there were multiple laws that prohibited beggars, vagabonds and "other useless rabble" entry. Frederick William went as far as to order in 1725 that "all Gipsies caught at the border shall be punished at the gallows".
From 1713 on, a part of Prussia‘s economic miracle was an eager construction business. A few palaces in the newly built Fredrichsstadt of Berlin aside, most of the buildings were however mundane buildings: community centres, schools, barracks, fortress buildings, hospitals and poorhouses, without any pomp or decoration. They were plain and frugal, like the Monarch himself.
Without luxury was the royal cuisine as well. Very much to the dismay of the royal consort, Sophie Dorothea, and the courtiers, Frederick William preferred "peasant like" meals, such as pies with bacon, cabbage with beef and innards.

There are pros and cons to all cultures. The problem is that warriors are focused on extraordinary things that happen in life while they neglect routine like family life, acquaintances, work. When you focus the attention of people on rare and narrow things, then you better be really good in those things, because when if you lose, then your whole social organization collapses and you become helpless

Whiter than you Muhammad

continued
The King's favourite was the military. Being the first Monarch of his period to always wear uniform, he often declared how he feels "a real pleasure, if the troops are well". He raised the army‘s size from 40,000 to 81,000 men. This "militarism" is often held against him, although it also meant that no foreign power dared attack Prussia and treat her like helpless prey, as was the case during the Thirty Years War.
Throughout his lifetime, Frederick William mobilised his army just once (conquering Stralsund in 1715), otherwise its existence alone was enough to deter potential enemies. "I shall rest nicely if they only leave me in peace, but who bites me, I will bite back", he commented.
The soldier‘s profession, which at the time was in almost all other European countries regarded disgraceful and despised, became highly honoured in Prussia. Who wears "the King‘s coat", could be certain to be treated with respect. 1717 a military academy was founded to turn the local gentry into officers – and most of all tie the aristocracy to the army, the monarch and the state. Frederick William managed to turn the aristocratic ethos of personal freedom and sovereignty into one that was rooted in service and duty to the nation.
At the same time Frederick William thought in a surprisingly National-German fashion. 1727 he said "No Englishman or Frenchman shall lord over us Germans. I shall hand my children swords and pistols into the cradle, that they shall keep the foreign nations out of Germany!". His favourite toast went "To Germania of German Nation! A bitch's cunt is he who doesn‘t mean it by heart!"

I think it was the Benedictines and catholicism which created the work ethic of Yurope. Maybe also townspeople in general contributed to it because they criticized aristocracy for vanity and idleness, and Germany had very strong towns with strong townspeople

You speak truthfully, this is a consequence I'm afraid

Belgium needs some Anschluss time.

As a young man the Soldier King already developed a fervent work ethic that neither spared his own nor the health of others. Everything had to be done "cito, citissime!" (faster, fastest). His character was that of a petty bourgeois that was frequently driven into fits of rage by his work in statesmanship. Threatening lazy officials: "They shall either dance to my tune or I shall be the devil‘s. I will have them hanged and stir-fried, like the Tsar does."
This proved effective. A love of order, proper organisation, timeliness and thoroughness became the highest commandments in Prussia and the King himself, who lived by these virtues, provided the example. His working days rarely ended before ten hours.
His married life was flawless at a time where sexual excess and keeping many mistresses was the aristocratic norm. But woe when Frederick William noticed insubordinance, then his cane (he became afflicted with goat early on) turned into a beating-instrument that neither spared ministers nor his own children.
His son and heir to the throne, Frederick, who would be called "The Great" even during his lifetime, was left with a political testament of twelve points. Within, he was advised to "lead a godly life and be a good example to country and army" and "not to start gorging and drinking, which leads to a bawdy life".
Particularly characteristic of the Soldier King was the fourth point: "A King who wants to rule with honour in this world needs to do everything by himself."

Done.

There's a portuguese saying which states "necessity makes the circunstance". That was from where Prussia came from.

They were. originally, a nation of warriors, both the Margraviate of Brandenburg and the Teutonic Order. When the Magraviate inherited the Duchy of Prussia, you had the union of these warrior cultures.

Also, the country was always in the middle of european warfare - 30 Years War was especially destructive to Prussia and that led to more contingence and spartan life style that favored pragmatism and power than shiny baubles.

Prussia would later test it's meetle in the 7 Years War, where it fought the french, austrian and russian empires - and won - due the genius of Friedrich the Great.

Prussia was, basically, a optimized, min-maxed country whose objective was to survive in a sea of expanding powers and to do that, they had to punch way above their weight, as Prussia was relatively small and poor (at last until they imported potatoes from the Americas and acquired Silesia from Austria).

Well, then.

Not sure, ask her instead.

Don't worry, she is going to be out of power soon.

The soldier king also executed the allegedly gay friend of his son Frederick in front of his eyes.

Prussia stole German lands and then killed german farmers in the danzig Massacre, and they started WW2.
Millions died.
