Yes, but I love the twist. I love that the anime never told you what the twist is because it ended early, but there was enough clues for you to figure it out.

It's his character interactions, there is little to no cliche in the development or dialogue so it always refreshing to read. His comedy timing is top notch too.
And all the female characters of his work are lovable. They are strong but cute in the same time, it's like magic. I absolutely love Hiiragi.
The ending was she was, never a guy and just thought she was in her memory.

The anime directly contradicts the manga reveal in its final filler arc (which although anime original gets rid of Tanaka, just like the manga's final arc, just in a different way). When she kisses Genzo in the anime, rather than recovering her memories and the devil saying goodbye like in the manga, you just get the devil talking about how she decided to live as a girl, so he won't need to undo the curse, then he goes away and disappears alongside the book.
Before the Mountain Game anime arc, the anime follows the manga fairly faithfully, so it was setting up the twist, it just never goes through with it and the anime's final arc makes the later manga stories impossible.
Pretty darn good for an endless show. TWO-MIX are too good for this world.
