Hippie commune =/= communism. A lot of people make this retarded mistake. Communism is about giving power to the State overall (property, wealth, resources, etc) and the responsability to distribute it fairly and wisely.
Being on a commune is more similar to anarchy since the rule of law doesn't necessarily apply fairly but solidarily and nobody owns anything on paper, there's just the common courtesy agreed between the members. You can't work with that the bigger and the more diverse the population is.
