Can someone please explain to me why people who have 0 understanding of economics should be able to decide who runs their country?
e.g a few days ago I was talking with some of my friends about how "the government interferes too much in the Australian economy. We should have a freer market". and their response was "But if the government doesn't interfere then how will we get healthcare or afford things? Only rich people will be able to afford things if the government doesn't interfere."
When he said this, it made me understand that he didn't understand the free market, so why should he vote? Why should people that are educated in both Austrian and Keynesian Economics (and other economic models) be the only ones to vote on economic matters?
The government shouldn't be allowed to dictate the economy but rescinding voting rights is just fine

Because at some point in history everyone took the democracy pill for some reason. Democracy is the invention of the Greeks, and it only ever worked for them. Not even Greeks in general, but a particular city state, Athens. Here's your head economic policy maker. Also the board that verifies economists treats his policies as gospel, thus only economists that follow his model get approved to become future heads of economic policy.

No. As in all citizens are able to vote, IF they can prove their knowledge on a variety of economic systems. It wouldn't rely on a head policy maker choosing who can vote and who can't, more on who passes the test. If anything, you should be worried about less educated/poorer people who can't afford education to learn about economics.
