If anything they will become even more common and even if they ban guns there are so many already out there any kid who is pissed off and determined enough will easily find a gun and massacre his peers. The only way for these to end would be a cultural reform and that's not happening anytime soon. I'll bet money 2019 will have more school shootings than 2018.

The kid's not innocent, he had serious behavioral issues, but the problem is that the people who were supposed to help deal with the root of those issues didn't and the people around him had no sympathy and in fact scorned him. He may have chosen to become the monster you said he always would be but you also chose to push him towards it instead of away. Being a victim of something isn't a 'get out of jail free' card that absolves you of your actions and the responsibility they carry with them, you can't just pass the buck on to everyone else. As someone who's been both the bullied and the bully, people need to learn to take some fucking responsibility for their actions.

I feel a certain amount of empathy for these school shooters when I'm not in full tinfoil-mode thinking they're all MKultra'd false flags. And I imagine that this armpit of the internet does too, for the simple fact that there isn't a Sup Forumstard alive who wasn't on the receiving end of that kind of bullying.
And it sucks because the worst isn't the big kid who everyone hates. The schools are well equipped to recognize when an unlikable asshole with an early growth spurt is a problem. It's not even the black or mexican kids who the administration tries to excuse and ignore. It's not the normies or the super-popular kids. It's those kids who are generally likable and whose bullying is relentless, targeted, and entirely emotional. Teachers aren't equipped to deal with that sort of bully - most don't even want to think of those kids as anything bad; at worst, they're "provoked".
