Cultural marxism was discussed quite commonly among elite circles. The problem is that now thanks to the internet, the normies are starting to find out about their deranged views for society. This why they have been doubling down on cultural marxism and pretending like it never existed.

They changed the language. What was once cultural marxism is simply critical theory or modern progressivism (Sandernistas)
They've turned the term cultural marxism taboo as a means of discrediting those wise to their ways. The words mean exactly the same thing, but leftist kikes ascribe the conspiratorial element to "cultural marxism." It's a really clumsy bit of social engineering if you ask me
