DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:10 P.M.) – Scores of civilians took to the streets of last rebel-held city in East Ghouta calling on for reconciliation with the Syrian government as another batch of insurgents elsewhere leave their bastions to the country’s north.
According to pro-rebel source, great numbers of civilians – including women and wounded people – went on protest today morning in Douma city; demanding Jaysh al-Islam to accept a reconciliation deal or evacuation agreement to spare the city the woes of an expected ground invasion by the Syrian forces.
The protestors accused leaders of the Saudi-backed group of acting according to their own interests and as dictated by their backers; thus ignoring the fate of thousands of civilians in the besieged city.
In a relate context, Jaysh al-Islam rebel group was given a time limit to accept a deal or they have to face a full onslaught. The deadline ends with the last batch of Faylaq al-Rahman militants leaving the East Ghouta region.

According to the source, the Syrian Army informed Jaysh Al-Islam that their decision to surrender Douma must come directly after the last rebel group leaves Jobar and Zamalka.
If they fail to meet this timeline, the Syrian Army will begin their long-awaited offensive to capture Douma.
Jaysh Al-Islam was supposed to give the Syrian Army and Russian military their answer today; however, they did not respond, despite repeated attempts to by the Russian Reconciliation Center communicate with this Islamist group.
