Just finished the manga after reading Punpun, liked it a lot, the characters were nice and the whole atmosphere and message was nicely done.

Didn't an epilogue came out like months ago?

I like Asano's works a lot but they all boil down to eventually being the same shit if you've read them enough. Good art work and characterization though.

Read that one a long time ago. From what I remember it wasn't as good as It's a Wonderful Word but still enjoyable nontheless.

Is this the one where the dude goes full sauce and assault random homeless folks on the street with a stun gun? Wish they made more manga like that.

No. You're thinking of a A Girl by the Shore.

Ah. I should reread that one. Love me some good teenangst

my favorite asano work.
actually i really don't like his current stuff that much (punpun and post-punpun).

Do you think Punpun killed his career by being too popular or will he deliver another hit? Doesn't seem like he'd be able to top it.

I just finishing reading punpun and I'm thinking about reading this one next
Is it as soul crushing as punpun though?

It's a lot more wholesome and heartwarming, tho it can be pretty sad.

>Do you think Punpun killed his career
Asano's built up enough of a following to get by on whatever he puts up based off his name alone. Not to say that his current stuff is worse, I actually prefer Demon's to Punpun.

DeDeDeDeDeDestruction is pretty good

Isn't on hiatus tho?

Resumed last month, actually

more like the opposite. and it's not like his older manga were as much of a hit as punpun, at least afaik.
that being said i liked punpun in the beginning.

I feel like Punpun peaked after he left Middle School. That was the last enjoyable arc for me. You can tell Asano was losing steam with it once Punpun got to university.

Reminder manga artist was best girl

The film was pretty good too for a manga to live action adaptation.

Scans when?

I still think that PunPun, as a whole, is a masterpiece.
Not even kidding here.

Read more of that genre/atmosphere. He admitted that he added pegasus into the plot because he didnt know how to make the pun-pun main story good enough alone.

This explains why it felt like the cult shit didn't go anywhere. Would've been neat if he managed to tie in their apocalyptic prophecies with Punpun's ending and the whole thing ended with the apocalypse.

>haha hey guys here is this stupid side story
>oh btw its actually super related to aiko
>oh btw there was actually a meteor and they actually saved the world!! hahahaha

I was so mad

It would've fit into the story if it had ended with a meteor causing the downfall of society. I would've loved to see how they would've dealt with genuine issues and not irrelevant shit that they exaggerated.

What film?

The old scan group is dead and the thing's getting an official release now, so probably (maybe) never

Dedede is looking to be very good.

>will he deliver another hit?
he's doing that as we speak dead dead demon dededededededededede is better than punpun

Who is best girl and why is it the trap?

Fun even though mediocre. The biggest selling point for me is the occasional instrument porn

>hasnt watched the film
dude

I get bored easily

More of king DEDEDE when?

I really liked Reiraku. Neat manga industry jokes. His shorter stories are always nice.

PunPun fell off but Dedededededededeede is great.

Kind of like Tezuka manga or Miyazaki films, then. In that case, which two that you've read do you think frame his shtick best?

>Miyazaki films
Huh? His movies are for children. This is a guy writing adult fiction on the other hand. They're like oil and water.

Is such a tired old argument really what you want tonight?

It's a fact though. Nobody is claiming otherwise.

Hopefully soon.
